CotG HOF Tag Team Wing Induction Results Second Induction CycleWhat follows is an account of the results of the second induction cycle of the Tag Team Wing of the CotG Hall of Fame. I want to thank everyone who took the time to vote. Keep in mind the CotG Hall of Fame is a living institution. Feel free to critique while offering alternative solutions and approaches. Any and all adopted policies are determined by majority vote...and you are always welcome to become an active part of the process. Voting Results For The Tag Team Wing CotG HOF Induction Ballot Second Induction Class Total Number of Candidates: 6 Closed Ballots Cast: 16 Open Ballots Cast: 26 Total Number of Votes: 42 75 Percent Threshold: Minimum of 31 VotesCandidate Team | Number of Votes | Percentage | Mercenaries (Vigilante & Soldier of Fortune) | 23 | 54.8% | Greek Gods (Proteus & Actagon) | 22 | 52.4% | New Order (Dreggs & Mace) | 13 | 31.0% | Twin Blood (Dreggs & Sleeze) | 8 | 19.0% | Gladiator Vanguard (Thunder & Overkill) | 6 | 14.3% | Desolation Factor (Rack & Ruin) | 3 | 7.1% |
Unfortunately no team was able to meet the 75% threshold for induction. As a consolation, I will have Werner draw non-induction related tribute art for the top vote receiving candidate team (The Mercenaries).

Too many good choices. I think Mercs may make it next time. I might even switch who I voted for to give the Greeks a better shot.

I'm reticent to suggest a lowered standard for induction...but from a practical standpoint it makes sense at this stage to at least open consideration to the pros & cons of any amendments to the current system. A few people have been kind enough to send me some ideas & suggestions. Sometime after the holidays (and before the next Singles Induction Cycle) we'll run some polls to see if majority sentiment warrants a need for any changes.

I think we can keep the system intact for at least one more cycle. The way it works in baseball, people would take a look at what the number of votes were for the last cycle and start thinking "do I want to vote for the Mercenaries and Greek Gods this year in order to give them a better shot at enshrinement" when in other years they would have voted someone else. Kind of like what Troy was suggesting.
If anything, we increase the number of votes for the final ballot so that you're not necessarily restricted to three, but 75% threshold is a pretty convincing standard that shows that a hall of fame entry truly deserved it.

The one problem I have with the 75% threshold is for some of the wrestlers that were active in the later years but before New Beginnings. For example, I would never vote Pegasus or Vyper into the Hall of Fame because I only ran my original fed until about 2100 or so, and they just haven't done enough for me in their early career to warrant a hall of fame vote. But that doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't deserving, I just don't have a good perspective for judging one way or another but my omission of their name on my ballot would automatically count against them.
