At the end of the each year I hold a tournament I am considering expanding it from the top 8 wrestlers . Here are the 3 options One is to keep it as a One Night 8 man tournament . Expand it to 14 entries with the 2 receiving byes into the tournament since each month a have 3 cards six qualifying matches two matches each card Expand it to 16 entries everyone must qualify

Can't go wrong with 16 but I prefer a classic 8 man format. It means truly the best of the best get in and winning 3 matches in one night shows endurance, heart and skill including being able to change game plan if need be.

I'm with the 8-man tournament. The thing I always disliked about WWE's King Of The Ring were the "qualifying" matches on RAW. Aren't those part of the tournament itself if the winners move on? I mean, just pick the Top 8 (or whatever) and have the damn tournament (that's directed at WWE, not you).

I don't like that only the final of the king of the ring will be on the clash of the champion .

I like the qualifying process. I do a King of the Cosmos tournament (name has changed over the years) and the tournament itself is 8 men. But the fun is the qualifying process. #1 seed is the previous year's champion #2 seed is the winner of the qualifying battle royal Other seeds are determined by order of elimination in the qualifying battle royal: Finishers #2 to #5 need to win 1 of their 2 qualifying matches to get in Finishers #6 to #9 have 1 qualifying match win to get in Finishers #10 to #13 need to win 2 straight qualifying matches to get in
Not saying you need to follow a weird format like that, but perhaps you can expand the field through qualifying matches or do a 16 person tournament spread over 2 cards.

I like the idea of giving the defending champion a bye into the tournament the problem is the defending champion is the galaxy champion and the winner will get a title shot

I like the idea of giving the defending champion a bye into the tournament the problem is the defending champion is the galaxy champion and the winner will get a title shot If the champion ends up winning the tournament, here are a few options... 1. Champion gets a "free pass" he can use to bow out of any upcoming title match. Maybe there's a new contender that the champion is afraid of? 2. Champion's next title defense is 2/3 Falls but he's already up one fall (meaning all he has to do is win one more fall but the challenger still has to win two falls). 3. Champion gets to pick a stipulation for his next title defense. He could pick a certain stip based on who the challenger is.

This is a sick concept... Not only do you get the fun of running a tournament, but you've got the foundation for 3-4 events leading up to the tournament right there as well... Bookmarking this for sure!
