GWF: CIVIL WAR 209106.26.2091 from Cygnus Stadium, Cygnus
Justice vs. Galactic PunisherThe two men shook hands to start the contest. The Punisher started off hot, but once Justice got going, he never looked back. He finished off Punisher with a Shock Probation at 6:10 in the contest.
Commander Sam vs. EarthquakeCommander Sam looked 10 years younger in this match! He had a counter for everything Earthquake did, almost scoring the pin fall victory on two separate occasions. Once after a Peacemaker Slingshot and again after two back to back Sam’s Atomic Drops. The finish came when Sam took his young partner outside the ring and piledrove him onto the floor, resulting in a count out victory at 12:50. Earthquake took the loss with a bit of embarrassment. After the match was over, Sam sought to help his friend up, a gesture that Earthquake did not reciprocate, and walked to the dressing room alone.
Killer Queen vs. Mad JesterMad Jester was all over his partner in this match, only letting Killer Queen get in one move of offense. Jester then cleaned the mat with Queen, hitting his greatest hits in his move set before hitting Killer Queen with three straight Foreign Object shots in a row. Queen rolled outside the ring where Jester followed him out and blasted him with a steel chair, almost getting disqualified. Mad Jester tossed him back in the ring and hit him with a JAGGED EDGE for the victory at 5:45.
Mad Jester cackled with glee as he made his way to the back, as Killer Queen lay bloody in the ring.
Mesmer vs. Pulsar Prime
Pulsar Prime whipped Mesmer into the ropes, where Mesmer pulled a sunset flip and pinned the Titan 1-2-3! Pulsar Prime, head in his hands and face down on the mat, began laughing uncontrollably and Mesmer joined in. The two men embraced and held each other’s arms up in the center of the ring.
Count Necros vs. Bishop Hell
Now this is one the crowd had been waiting for. The Powers of Darkness has been one of the most dominate teams this year, and all were waiting to see who was the real powerhouse of the tandem. Prior to the match, both men insisted on a no disqualification stipulation.
Count Necros, though less experienced than his partner, did not back down from his veteran partner. Necros hung in there in the early minutes of the bout, trading pin attempts between the two. Once Hell established his dominance, it was all over for the Count. Three straight Flying Crosses but the undead ruler down for the Count at 10:44. No pun intended.
Actagon vs. Proteus
Proteus dominated early, but Actagon turned the tide mid match and caught Proteus with a SLEEPER GRIP twice. Proteus weathered the assault and reversed the momentum by tossing Actagon outside the ring, unfortunately, an angry Actagon blasted Proteus through the announcers table with a reverse piledriver!
Proteus was easy pickings after that, and Actagon finished his partner off with another GRECIAN SLEEPER GRIP at 8:40. After the match, the two men had a bit of a stare down in the ring, but cooler heads prevailed.
Brute vs. Masssacre
Prior to the match, both men asked for a steel cage match! In the opening minutes of the match, Brute dominated his partner, beating him from one side of the cage to the other! After a double clothesline, Massacre was back to his feet first and quickly went for a CLEANSING! Brute barely kicked out at a 2 count, but Massacre hit a flying elbow drop and followed that with a flying knee smash off the top of the cage and gained the pinfall victory over Brute at 5:02!
Man Mountain vs. Lightening
This was a back and forth contest to the very end. Lightening used his speed and agility to overcome the power advantage of Man Mountain, and defeated him with the NORSE SLEEPER GRIP at 9:44
Tendron vs. Tongsoon
Tendron started hot, and battered his team mate to start the match. After a quick two count, Tendron continued his assault. Tongsoon gained the upper hand after the referee was knocked out during a Tendron deathjump attempt. Tongsoon hit the BATTLE CRY and handed Tendron his first singles pinfall loss at 9:43.
Badger vs. Iron Mane
The Incredible Badger dominated the majority of this match, landing Ani-Man axe handle after Ani-Man axe handle and frequent covers to keep Iron Mane down on the mat. A BURROW BLAST later and Iron Mane was counting the lights. Badger wins via pinfall at 6:14.
Bounty Hunter vs. Serpent Un-Man
This was a quick and vicious brawl that saw the Serpent Un-Man surprise his partner with an opening assault that had the Hunter on his heels and outside the ring. Bounty Hunter crawled his way back into the ring and was met with a STRANGULATION! Hunter was fading fast as the Referee called for Serpent Un-Man to be disqualified! Once the hold was broken, Bounty Hunter looked at his partner in surprise and something akin to fear! The Un-Man is perhaps proving he’s not a joke any longer!
Bounty Hunter wins by Disqualification at 1:08.
Billy Joe Boxer vs. Lord Nexus
In a rare singles match for both men, mat wrestling quickly gave way to an all out brawl outside the ring, where Billy Joe Boxer was disqualified.
Lord Nexus, although victorious, asked for the match to be restarted under Titan Death Match rules!
After surviving a TKO attempt from Billy Joe Boxer, Lord Nexus regained the upper hand scoring multiple deathjump attempts and brawling outside the ring. It took 3 TITAN DROPS to keep Billy Joe Boxer down for the 3 count at 8:05.
The two men shook hands after the thrilling matchup.
Whiplash vs. Splatter
The veteran Whiplash just out wrestled his partner on this night. A quick Headsmen Guillotine followed by the THUMBSCREW was enough to put Splatter down at 2:39.
Mr. Galaxy vs. Vanity
The two “pretty boys” of the GWF were hesitant to lock up until Vanity struck with a quick PULVERIZER and almost scored a 3 count on his surprised partner. Mr. Galaxy worked a comeback and took Vanity to task. An outside the ring brawl saw both men almost getting disqualified. Once back inside the ring, Mr. Galaxy scored big with a MUSCLE RIPPER, but Vanity managed to escape and hit with a Vanity Flip for the pinfall victory at 8:32.
Adam Blast vs. Vlad Hammer
This match was a wrestling clinic, with both men sticking with their mat wrestling tactics. Around the halfway mark, Vlad Hammer kicked out of back to back MEGA BLASTS to continue the bout. Vlad looked strong during the second half, but not having a dedicated singles finisher hurt his chances of putting Adam Blast away. A third MEGA BLAST at the 18:40 mark put Vlad Hammer away.
Antimatter vs. Matter
These two were evenly matched for the majority of the bout, trading finishers and pinfall attempts throughout with neither gaining an upper hand until Matter drove Antimatter out of the ring. Once reentering, he was easy prey for a pile driver and three count from Matter at the 13:30 mark.
Ghengis Khan vs. Mitsuko
Another back and forth contest that saw Ghengis Khan overcome his partner with a TWIN THRUST at 11:25. This was not a very interesting bout as neither competitor seemed interested in wrestling the other.
Terak vs. Renegade
This was probably the most unpredictable match of the night. Terak and Renegade haven’t been on the same page for most of the year, and have been, for the most part, staying away from each other and wrestling in mostly singles matches. With tempers beginning to boil between the two, they have decided to compete in a Last Man Standing match.
This match did not disappoint! For nearly an hour, the former Space Croppers beat and battered each other until both were a bloody mess! Nothing was off limits as Terak and Renegade tore into one another with anything that wasn’t nailed down. BARBARIAN KNEE SHUFFLES and SPINECRACKERS were being applied at wreckless abandon. Renegade provided the majority of offense, at one point, hitting four Cropper Slams in a row. Terak made a slight and valiant comeback but Renegade’s vicious attack eventually overcame a defiant Terak’s will to win at 51:28.
An exhausted Renegade wiped the blood of the fallen Terak across his face after the match and left his partner lying in the ring as he cut a promo from the ramp. Renegade said he was the greatest star from Neptune and the Barbarians were no more!
Star Warrior vs. Wolf
In a contest pitting two of the GWF’s biggest stars, Wolf weathered an early assault from Star Warrior before turning the tables and dominating the second half of the match. Although Star Warrior fought his way free from a SAVAGE FACE CLAW mid-match, Wolf’s follow up furry of offense proved too much for the Cetus born star, and a submitted to a second SAVAGE FACE CLAW minutes later at the 11:24 mark.
INTERPLANETARY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Matador of M83 (Champion) vs. Massif
In the champion’s first defense, he completely dominated the former champion, Massif. Massif never even got in a single move of offense as Matador of M83 put him away with the BULLWHIP in under 4 minutes.
GWF GALAXIAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Thantos (Champion) vs. Mayhem
Thantos has not been happy as of late, as he has been forced to defend his championship against Mayhem once again, as he sees Mayhem as a threat to his year and a half reign as the GWF Champion.
The bout started off evenly, but turned into a brawl quickly as Mayhem exerted his Aethran dominance over the Champion. Thantos eventually fought back after Mayhem took the action outside the ring. Thantos tossed the hurt Mayhem back inside the ring where the Game Master turned Mayhem inside out with a flying clothesline off the top rope.
Thantos then locked in the MASTERLOCK figure four on the wild Aethran and held the move for what seemed like minutes before Mayhem tapped out just before he began to pass out from the pain.
Thantos wins via submission at the 6:26 mark.
The heavyweight champion celebrated in the ring as all the lights in the arena went out, except for the Holovision screen at the top of the ramp. Ominous music filled the arena as words began to form on the screen.
“CHAOS IS COMING”
