Twenty-six years ago I was living with a friend at his parents' house. His mother was a major collector and reseller of books and once when I was bored I dug around in the thousands of books they had and found an old book on the Lizzie Borden case that had been published in the 1950s.
Most amazing book on the case that I've ever read. The book even had the entirety of the court transcripts... unedited... as an appendix.
I'll say this, though I haven't seen the movie you mentioned, so far there isn't a single film on the subject that has ever given the story as the facts were known.
Everyone has sensationalized it and given it some sort of social commentary angle.
I'll still check it out, though.
