Who will win ROH's #1 Contender Tournament to win a ROH World Championship match at Final Battle? The tournament begins in Las Vegas at Death Before Dishonor. Not sure, but I think it might be Bandido. Perhaps PCO? Perhaops Mark Haskins? I would like it to be Marty Scurll, but I really think Scurll is going to AEW at some point after his ROH contract expires in November. At first I was surprised Jeff Cobb is not in this tournament, but then I realized Cobb is booked for a special show in the Philippines the night of Glory by Honor in October when the semi-finals and finals of this tournament are scheduled. Here is the tournament bracket:

I'd like Bandido but I see Lizard Man going with the old standby Jay Lethal.

This is kind of a mess all the way around. The only match I see here worthy of main eventing Final Battle (title match should be the main event) is Taven/Lethal. But that pairing has been done too much. Also assuming Taven is still champion. If Scurll were to stay around, I could see that as well? Seems to lack heat tho. Other than that, Bandido?
ROH should have built to Matt Taven v Jeff Cobb for a big blow off at Final Battle. I still can't believe how poorly ROH handled their match at Best In The World.

Always back the fellow English man Marty Marty would be my personal choice, but with his contract currently expiring in November I am not even sure if he will be in ROH at all, let alone the Final Battle main event, in December. I would like to see Marty Scurll resign with ROH but my guess is he leaves either for AEW to join his friends or for the WWE to join his girlfriend Deonna Purrazzo.

I always felt when Marty & Spud (WWE Drake Maverick) were battling out for TNA's British Bootcamp many years ago . Spud won it . I always thought WWE should of signed Marty then .

I think Marty would be perfect for WWE. If he does not resign with ROH, I am hoping Scurll goes to WWE. When he was a regular at PWG, I always talked to Marty (PWG- BOLA 2015- is where I signed Marty Scurll to the game) at almost every show. I wish him the best in his future fed contract decisions.

I'm going with Mark Haskins. ROH needs to breathe new life--or Lifeblood--into the title picture.

I went with King this time. I just think he's due. I bet he meets Haskin in the semi final, and Bandito in the finals. Whomever wins this one deserves to be #1 for sure. Real good brackets and tough tournament.

After last weekend, it is now down to 4 with the semis and finals taking place next weekend at Glory by Honor.
I think next weekend's results at Glory by Honor will give us a good idea if Marty Scurll is staying in ROH or not. If Scurll wins this tournament next weekend for a title shot in December then he obviously is not leaving when his contract expires in November. If Scurll is staying in ROH then he is my pick to win this tournament.
