I might use Mr. Hughes as a bodyguard for the Midnight Express ala Big Bubba Rogers. We'll see.

You'll never hear me complain about getting another big dude to fill out the undercard. Mr. Hughes rules.
I'm curious if there'll be any big marquee names for the set now. Everyone announced is very much an undercard wrestler---which is great---but it'd be weird to get a whole set of supporting players.

That's 2 new names that didn't have cards before. Without checking I don't think any of the expansions had more than 2 new wrestlers. Maybe this set will.

Mr. Hughes is a great addition and a great utility player, but I have a bigger question: When did Chris Jericho get a card? Watching AEW has turned my mother into a Jerichoholic! On the main subject, Mr Hughes is a perfect signing for my 1980/90s WCW-style federation. It’s really incredible how he constantly re-invents himself and keeps evolving. Each step of his career has gotten better. I never thought he could top “the list” (best thing in WWE in maybe a decade), but he’s surely on his way in AEW already. Dude is hilarious! |

If you're just looking at the base sets, every expansion has had two new cards but if you count Francine's SE as part of the set, the hardcore set had 3 between her, Shane and Abby. |

I show my wife (a wrestling fan but not a card player) pictures of wrestlers cards she knows in indies/Legends/ROH/Shimmer/CZW fed releases etc . When I showed her Mr Hughes , she replied "He was bigger (weight/size) than that" . Looking at it , I think she is right ?

I hope it’s more first timers. I have zero problem mixing b&w w color so I’ll take new names in color over redos every time.
