Hey look, it's a show! It's not a particularly great write-up because I threw it together after playing out a quick card but hey I actually posted a show for once. Give me credit.
Card #1, WCW Monday Nitro Atlanta Omni
Following the opening video, we see a pyrotechnic display as the camera pans to a sold out Omni in Atlanta, Georgia! The camera quickly turns to the announce desk where we see Tony Schiavone and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan TS: "Hello everyone and welcome to the inaugural edition of WCW Monday Nitro here on T-N-T! I'm Tony Schiavone and for the next hour, you will see the superstars of World Championship Wrestling live like you've never seen them before and Brain, things are really heating up here in WCW." BH: "That's right, Schiavone! We've got the World Heavyweight Champion, probably the most unstoppable man in the history of this sport, Vader trying to get that snot nosed punk Barry Windham off his back. Then we've got that yappin' little mut Davey Boy Smith, he calls himself the 'British Bulldog' and he's been trying to wrestle that United States Championship away from Curt Hennig. The tag team division is as hot as it's ever been. WCW is where the big boys play, Schiavone!" TS: "It certainly is and tonight we've got a jam packed hour of action. As Brain mentioned the World's Heavyweight Champion, the man they call Vader, will be in action. We'll also see US Champion Curt Hennig defending that title against Davey Boy Smith. Also during this telecast you'll see Jim Cornette's newest acquisitions, Jacques and Pierre, in action. Our opening contest is ready to go, let's send it down to David Penzer!"
1.) Hugh Morris beat Sam Houston in 3:46 with the No Laughing Matter. - A very short match saw Morris, who as of late has been entangled in a bitter feud with "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, absolutely demolish Houston. During the bout, Jim Duggan appeared in the crowd and lead the fans in attendance in a "USA" chant. After the match, Duggan stared Morris down after the match.
Following a commercial break we see an advertisement for the next WCW Pay-Per-View spectacular, SuperBrawl, before heading back into the arena with "Mean" Gene Okerlund standing at the entrance way. MGO: "Ladies and gentlemen, at this time I'd like to introduce a man who needs no introduction anywhere in the world. Truly one of the most popular athletes in World Championship Wrestling, Barry Windham!"
Barry Windham makes his way to the ramp to a standing ovation.
MGO: "Barry, thank you for your time tonight. I understand you're preparing for four weeks from now at SuperBrawl when you get the chance that every man in this sport works their entire life for when you meet Big Van Vader for the World's Heavyweight Championship. I'd just like to get your thoughts." BW: "Well you know, Gene, it's been a long time comin'. I've been all over this world beating the very best this sport has to offer and the WCW Championship Committee finally decided to give me my shot. Now Vader, he's a big ol' bull ain't he? Four, five hundred pounds and nobody gets up from that Powerbomb. It could be the end of Barry Windham, huh? I was talkin' to my dad, Blackjack Mulligan, and he knows a little somethin' about being in fights with giants and he told me that the key to this fight is to show Vader that he's no different than anyone else. Vader, you're big. You're strong. You're the top man in this sport and that belt you got proves it, but come Starrcade, you won't be the best. I've waited my whole life for this and I'm not comin' home empty handed, big man." MGO: "Thank you for your time, Barry and good luck at SuperBrawl. We'll be back with more WCW Nitro after this!"
An advertisement played for WCW Saturday Night on TBS. This week's edition will see the WCW World Tag Team Champions, Jim Cornette's Heavenly Bodies in action, as well as WCW Television Chamnpion 2 Cold Scorpio, Shane Douglas and in the feature bout, "Macho Man" Randy Savage takes on King Kong Bundy!
In the locker room area, we see Mike Tenay who has been trying all day to get a word with "Macho Man" Randy Savage. As Tenay tries again to get a response from Savage, Disco Inferno steps in front of the camera and begins dancing as his theme song plays.
2.) WCW United States Championship: Curt Hennig vs. Davey Boy Smith went to double disqualification at 8:59. - This was a competitive bout, seeing both men attempt their finishing moves only to have them reversed. A lot of brawling took place outside the ring late in the match and the wrestlers trading chair shots on the floor lead to referee Nick Patrick calling for the bell as officials and WCW security had to separate the two men after the bout.
Another advertisement for SuperBrawl played following the commercial break as we head to the announce desk again to Tony and Bobby. TS: "Brain, that is going to be a monumental evening of wrestling. Barry Windham takes on Big Van Vader for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and I guess we might see a rematch of that contest between Curt Hennig and the British Bulldog." BH: "I don't think Davey Boy deserves one. You know it's just like the British to try to take the easy way out when they can't win a fight!" TS: "Will you get serious, Brain? Also on tap for SuperBrawl, and this just came down, we'll see Hugh Morris take on 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan in a special feature bout." BH: "I'll tell you this, Schiavone, what Hugh Morris is gonna do to that goofball Jim Duggan will be no laughing matter!" TS: "Let's go back to David Penzer!"
3.) The Amazing French Canadians of Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Carl Ouelett (w/Jim Cornette) beat Tiger Conway Jr. and Tiger Conway Sr. in 3:28 when Rougeau pinned Jr. following La Bomba de Rougeau. - Cornette's newest charges proved to be worth the money his mother spent on them, making quick work of the Conways. During the bout, Schiavone mentioned that just signed for WCW Saturday Night is a bout between the Canadians and the team of Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot!
After the bout, the Canadians approached the announce booth where Cornette began shouting at Schiavone to declare the Canadians the greatest tag team in North America. Ouelett grabbed Schiavone by the jacket, which brought out Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot, leading to a brawl between both teams that took all four men to the backstage area.
A video package aired, showing a pub in Ireland and wrapping around to the back alley where we see several of the pub's patrons laid out. The camera gets closer to the one left standing as he introduces himself as the "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay and text announces that we'll see his in-ring debut on Saturday Night.
We go back to the backstage area where Disco Inferno is still dancing as Mike Tenay tries to find "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Tenay asks Disco what he's doing and Disco says he's giving the people what they want to see. Tenay tells Disco this isn't the time to boogie and Disco responds by telling Tenay it's ALWAYS time to boogie! Disco turns around and comes face to face with Big Van Vader. Vader asks Disco what time it is and Disco sprints off. The World's Heavyweight Champion is in action next!
4.) Big Van Vader (w/Harley Race) beat Mikey Whipwreck in 1:22 with a Powerbomb. - Whipwreck stood no chance. The mammoth World Champion rushed Whipwreck at the bell and made quick work of the upstart from the New York area. Throughout the short contest, Vader repeatedly referred to Whipwreck as "Windham". After the match, Vader walked up to the camera and said "WHERE ARE YOU WINDHAM? WHO IS THE MAN? WHAT TIME IS IT?!" as the show went off the air.

Card #2, WCW Saturday Night Center Stage
Following the opening video, we see a jam-packed Center Stage as we go to our hosts Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross. TS: "Welcome everyone to this, our first Saturday Night telecast of the new year here on TBS. I'm Tony Schiavone and I'll be calling the action alongside Jim Ross. Jim, the inaugural edition of WCW Monday Nitro was a runaway success and here tonight on TBS, we have two hours of the best wrestling you're going to find anywhere." KR: "You've got that right, Tony. In our featured bout, the 450 pound mammoth King Kong Bundy looks to do Greg Valentine's bidding when he takes on 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. We'll have the number one contender Barry Windham here tonight, as well as the WCW Television Championship on the line when 2 Cold Scorpio meets Rob Van Dam. We'll also see both of Jim Cornette's pairings, the Heavenly Bodies and the Amazing French Canadians, in action and a little later on, I attempt to get a comment from the WCW World's Heavyweight Champiom himself, Big Van Vader. We'll see how well that goes." TS: "That is an unenviable task, my friend. Let's go to the ring for our opening bout. David Penzer, take it away!"
1.) Shane Douglas (w/Mr. Hughes and Francine) beat Brad Armstrong in 6:49 with a Belly to Belly Suplex. - Probably a more competitive match than you'd expect on the surface, but Douglas' hired security and the head cheerleader didn't intervene, allowing "The Franchise" to prove his nickname to be true against the best of the Armstrong family. Brad got some offense and looked impressive but an errant missile dropkick attempt lead to Douglas taking back over and picking up the victory.
After the bout, Douglas walked over to the announcer's position for an interview. JR: "Shane, I have to give it to you, that was an impressive victory. You've been on a bit of a roll since coming to WCW here recently and after a performance like that, you've got to have championship gold in your sights." SD: "Ross, I've always said you're smarter than you look and you are exactly right. What I did tonight was prove that a dynasty like the Armstrongs is no match for The Franchise and I'm taking aim at everyone here in WCW. Now we've got this SuperBrawl coming up and being the Franchise of WCW, I'm going to issue an open challenge to any man in this sport, whether they wrestle here or not. Step in the ring with Shane Douglas and get Franchised in front of the entire world." JR: "Shane Douglas, everyone! We'll be back right after this!"
After the commercial, we see WCW President Nick Bockwinkel in his office for a breaking news update. NB: "Following the events on the inaugural telecast of WCW Monday Nitro and upon further review from the WCW Board of Directors and the Championship Committee, the decision has been made to give Davey Boy Smith a rematch at the WCW United States Championship held by Curt Hennig in Daytona Beach, Florida at the upcoming SuperBrawl spectacular. The Board, as well as the Committee, acknowledge Hennig's behavior as that of a desperate champion trying to save his title and with that in mind we've implemented a stipulation where if Mr. Hennig gets himself intentionally counted out or disqualified, he will relinquish the United States Championship to Mr. Smith and a 30 day unpaid suspension will be instated effective immediately. Mr. Hennig has agreed to these stipulations but requested one of his own, that being if Mr. Smith loses this bout in any way, shape or form, that Mr. Smith will be unable to challenge for the United States Championship as long as Mr. Hennig is the champion. Thank you for your time, please enjoy the remainder of WCW Saturday Night."
2.) The Heavenly Bodies of Tom Prichard and Stan Lane (w/Jim Cornette) beat Mikey Whipwreck and Sam Houston in 3:30 when Prichard pinned Whipwreck after the Rocket Launcher. - The World Tag Team Champions looked impressive in this showing on The Mothership. The makeshift team of Whipwreck and Houston tried their best, but couldn't find their footing against the much more experienced team. During the bout, Jim Ross mentioned that tonight in Charlotte, North Carolina, we'll see the Rock n Roll Express challenging for the World Tag Team Championship and should the titles change hands, we'll have the footage ready for next Monday on Nitro.
A video recapping Vader's path of destruction through WCW plays before we go back to the studio with Jim Ross. JR: "Well ladies and gentlemen we now know that in four weeks' time, Barry Windham will get his shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against my guest at this time, Big Van Vader!"
Big Van Vader makes his way into the studio accompanied by eight time World's Heavyweight Champion Harley Race. JR: "Gentlemen, it's been brewing over the last few weeks and even months, but you know now that the challenge of Sweetwater, Texas' own Barry Windham is next in line on Pay-Per-View. Can I get your thoughts?" BVV: "WINDHAM! AT SUPERBRAWL YOU FIND OUT WHAT TIME IT IS! WHAT TIME IS IT, HARLEY?!" HR: "It's VADER Time!" BVV: "THAT'S RIGHT! WINDHAM, I SEE FEAR IN YOUR EYES, BOY. YOU'RE AFRAID FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YOUR LIFE, BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T STAND IN THE RING WITH ME. I AM THE MAN, I AM THE CHAMPION. I. AM. VADER!" HR: "Windham, your dad was one of the toughest men in this business. Your dad was a giant! He fought me, he beat me, I know that man inside and out and I know you inside and out too, punk! Now you went and cried to Nick Bockwinkel and every one of the suits because you wanted a shot at this man. Well you damn sure have it! But what you also have is to start thinking of excuses when you look that pathetic old bird of a father in the face and explain to him why just like him, you're a loser who couldn't beat the world's champion! Windham, at SuperBrawl you'll find out what VADER TIME is all about!"
Vader and Race storm off as we head to a commercial break.
3.) "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay beat Marty Jannetty in 2:27 with a Tombstone Piledriver. - I'm not sure what many of the fans in attendance expected when they learned that Finlay was coming to World Championship Wrestling, but what they got was best described by Ross as "bowling shoe ugly". Finlay roughed Jannetty up, picking him apart before dropping him on his head for the finish. This was as convincing a debut as you could possibly have on television and it's clear that Finlay is aiming for the top of WCW.
4.) Barry Windham beat Ivan Koloff in 1:33 with a flying lariat. - The old Russian Bear looked in great shape as he took on the number one contender, but Windham was on a mission to prove that he's a worthy number one contender. Windham tore through Koloff while on commentary, Schiavone and Ross pondered if the comments about Windham's father made by Harley Race have gotten to the number one contender.
After the match, Disco Inferno invaded the broadcast position and began talking about how this coming edition of Monday Nitro was going to be Monday DISCO, as he's now found an opponent for his in-ring debut. When asked by Schiavone who his opponent would be, Disco said it was one of the very top stars here in WCW and we'd all find out live in Chicago.
5.) The Amazing French Canadians of Jacques and Pierre (w/Jim Cornette) beat Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot in 7:34 when Pierre pinned Bagwell following interference from Jim Cornette. - The team of Bagwell and Patriot had this match firmly in hand prior to a racket shot from Jim Cornette late that set up the Tower of Quebec and gave the Canadians the victory. The crowd at Center Stage chanted "USA" loudly when the Patriot was on offense and he got a big near fall for the Patriot Missile but in the end, Camp Cornette took home its second victory of the night.
An advertisement for this week's episode of Monday Nitro played. We'll see the in-ring debut of Disco Inferno, as well as Shane Douglas' bodyguard Mr. Hughes, The Rock n Roll Express, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, WCW World Television Champion 2 Cold Scorpio and in the featured bout, Davey Boy Smith takes on Hugh Morris!
6.) WCW World Television CHampionship: 2 Cold Scorpio beat Rob Van Dam in 8:21 with the Diss That Don't Miss. - As you would expect from these two, this was an excellent contest showcasing the athletic skills of both wrestlers. Van Dam didn't get a chance to take to the top rope for his famed-Five Star Frog Splash, which you could argue is a key reason why Scorpio was able to pull out such an impressive victory.
After the bout, Fit Finlay makes his way to ringside and stares Scorpio down as the two are separated by security and WCW officials.
7.) "Macho Man" Randy Savage beat King Kong Bundy in 4:04 with a Flying Elbow Drop. - Size was, in fact, no match for speed and skill as Savage evaded every attempt by Bundy to build some sort of offensive momentum. The key moment in the match saw Bundy miss his signature Avalanche and Savage took to the top rope for a flying axe handle and then his patented flying elbow drop. After the match, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine attacked Savage, slamming his shin into the ring post on the outside and applying a figure four leglock that was being separated by officials and security as WCW Saturday Night ran out of time for this week!
Card #11, WCW SuperBrawl Ocean Center WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Big Van Vader (ch; w/Harley Race) vs. Barry Windham WCW United States Championship; Hennig loses the belt on countout or DQ, if Smith loses he can never challenge Hennig again: Curt Hennig (ch) vs. Davey Boy Smith Hugh Morris vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan Franchise Open Challenge: Shane Douglas (w/Francine and Mr. Hughes) vs. TBA

Card #3, WCW Monday Nitro Hara Arena
Following the opening video and pyrotechnic display, we're taken to the announce desk and our hosts, Tony Schiavone and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. TS: "Hello again everyone and welcome to another edition of Monday Nitro live from the famous Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio! For the next hour you will be witnessing action from the top wrestlers in the sport because this is World Championship Wrestling - Where the Big Boys Play! I'm Tony Schiavone and alongside me of course is "The Brain" and Bobby, I can't believe I'm saying this but tonight we'll be seeing the in-ring debut of the Disco Inferno." BH: "He's been training with world champion wrestlers and boxers and kickboxers for this one, Tony. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised." TS: "Is that right? Also tonight we'll see Mr. Hughes in action, as well as 2 Cold Scorpio, The Rock 'n Roll Express, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and in our featured bout we'll have Davey Boy Smith taking on Hugh Morris!" BH: "I think that little mutt is going to find out that Mr. Morris is no laughing matter." TS: "Let's send it to David Penzer!"
1.) Mr. Hughes (w/Shane Douglas and Francine) beat Brad Armstrong in 1:59 with a powerbomb. - This was brutal. Hughes battered Armstrong from bell to bell, not letting Armstrong have any sort of offense before putting him away with a powerbomb not unlike the World Champion's. After the bout, Douglas got on the microphone and reiterated his open challenge for SuperBrawl, saying he'd fight anyone from anywhere in the world.
A recap of last Saturday Night's main event featuring "Macho Man" Randy Savage and King Kong Bundy played before we were taken back to Tony and Bobby, who informed us that Savage did suffer damage to his knee due to the attack from Greg Valentine following the match but Savage was adamant about getting revenge on Valentine, requesting a bout for the near future.
2.) The Rock n Roll Express of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson beat Mance Warner and Ricky Starks in 4:18 when Morton pinned Warner following a Double Dropkick. - Warner seemed to be fairly popular with the crowd during the match due to his wild, unhinged brawling style. Starks took most of the beating from the Rock n Roll, who were in control for the entirety of the match. Following the match, Warner laid Starks out with a lariat and threw him to the floor where Warner delivered an elbow drop off the apron to Starks on the floor.
We're taken to a video showing Barry Windham's training as he prepares for his upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match against Big Van Vader. This is followed by a video showing a wrestling gym in Wigan, England. We see a man locking in various submissions on his training partner before introducing himself as Lord Timothy Thatcher. Thatcher says that he'll be seeing the fans of World Championship Wrestling soon, and he's not coming alone. A large man walks into frame behind Thatcher, but is not identified before the video fades out and we go back to the arena.
3.) Greg "The Hammer" Valentine beat Sam Houston in 2:22 with a figure four leglock. - Houston, despite being a tough wrestler for his size, just couldn't get any offense going against "The Hammer", who himself was fresh off of a sneak attack on Randy Savage on Saturday Night. During the bout, Schiavone reiterated that Savage told WCW officials that he will not rest until Valentine has been run out of the sport of professional wrestling.
Following a commercial break, we're taken to the office of WCW President Nick Bockwinkel for a breaking news update. NB: "Hello wrestling fans, it seems that news is breaking frequently here in World Championship Wrestling as we strive to bring the fans the absolute best in professional wrestling. With that goal in mind, the WCW Board of Directors and the Championship Committee have finally voted and decided upon adding a new, innovative championship to the promotion. This will be called the Cruiserweight Championship and it is optional to any wrestler under the 230 pound mark. The news was made public to promotions all across the world just prior to us going live for this telecast and to no surprise, we've received a flood of tapes and resumes from some of the absolute finest talent in the world and will be presenting a sixteen man tournament for the championship, beginning this weekend on the Saturday Night telecast. Thank you for your time, as always I'm WCW president Nick Bockwinkel."
4.) WCW World Television Championship: 2 Cold Scorpio beat Al Snow in 7:51 with the Diss That Don't Miss. - Snow, an Ohio native, got his shot at Scorpio's World Television Championship and the end result was a very exciting match that nearly saw the Lima native wrestle the title away from Scorpio. Unfortunately for Snow, the action turned in Scorpio's favor once the two left the ring and Scorpio put Snow away with his finisher shortly thereafter. After the bout, we saw "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay standing at the entrance way, staring down Scorpio.
We see a limousine pull up to CNN Center in Atlanta. Out of the limo steps a Mexican wrestler in a suit who enters the building before text tells us that RUSH of the world-infamous Los Ingobernables faction is coming to World Championship Wrestling!
5.) Disco Inferno beat Gilbert Manley in 0:22 with The Last Dance. - Manley appeared to be about 5'3 and 112 pounds and as you might have guessed, wasn't much of a match for Disco who put him away immediately and then bolted into the crowd to celebrate this victory as if he'd just won the Super Bowl. Heenan played up the victory on commentary, saying this was the start of the greatest undefeated streak in the history of this sport which seemed to irritate Schiavone.
This week on WCW Saturday Night, we have a monumental feature bout as Barry Windham takes on the dangerous Abdullah the Butcher! Also in action we have WCW United States Champion Curt Hennig, "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Stars and Stripes of Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot, Lord Timothy Thatcher makes his WCW debut and the first matches of the new WCW Cruiserweight Championship Tournament will take place this Saturday on TBS!
6.) Davey Boy Smith beat Hugh Morris in 8:44 with a Running Powerslam. - This was a total brute-force match with Morris nearly getting the better of Smith early on. Morris would attempt his No Laughing Matter moonsault late in the match, only for Smith to move and rally back, putting the big man down with his patented Running Powerslam to seal the deal.
Card #11, WCW SuperBrawl Ocean Center WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Big Van Vader (ch; w/Harley Race) vs. Barry Windham WCW United States Championship; Hennig loses the belt on countout or DQ, if Smith loses he can never challenge Hennig again: Curt Hennig (ch) vs. Davey Boy Smith Hugh Morris vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan Franchise Open Challenge: Shane Douglas (w/Francine and Mr. Hughes) vs. TBA

Card #4, WCW Saturday Night Center Stage
Following the opening video, we see a jam-packed Center Stage as we go to our hosts Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross. TS: "Hello again everyone and welcome to WCW Saturday Night here on TBS! For the next two hours, you'll see the very best in professional wrestling from the world leader, World Championship Wrestling. I'm Tony Schiavone and this week, Jim, we're gonna see the beginning of the exciting Cruiserweight Championship tournament but in our main event, Barry Windham takes on Abdullah the Butcher. Jim, you've got to believe Abdullah is a hired gun on the part of the World's Champion and Harley Race." JR: "It certainly seems that way, Tony. Abdullah is one of the most dangerous men in the sport and he very well could see to it that SuperBrawl ends up without a main event. Also tonight, the United States Champion Curt Hennig will be in action, we'll see Stars and Stripes, the Belfast Bruiser and more but right now, let's send it to David Penzer."
1.) Stars and Stripes of Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot beat Mance Warner and Wheeler Yuta in 2:24 when Bagwell used the Yellowjacket Suplex on Yuta. - A match where Bagwell and Patriot made quick work of their opposition. Mance Warner, who had previously appeared on Nitro this week, was popular with the crowd at Center Stage for the brief time he was in the ring. During the match, it was mentioned that Warner was petitioning to enter the Cruiserweight Championship tournament and a win here could help his case. After the match, Warner laid Yuta out with a lariat and gave him a flying elbow drop off the apron.
We see a video of Big Van Vader training for his upcoming title defense at SuperBrawl. The montage consists of Vader decimating opponents of all sizes and shapes, laying waste to all of them with his devastating powerbomb. Harley Race ends the video saying that Barry Windham is gonna find out what Vader Time is all about at SuperBrawl.
2.) WCW Cruiserweight Championship Tournament - Opening Round: Bandido beat Scott Taylor in 6:59 with the 21 Plex. - A good, fast paced contest which Tony Schiavone noted had to be a nerve wracking event for both men knowing they have to set the tempo for the remainder of the tournament. Taylor came close to scoring the victory over Bandido by countout and again when Bandido crashed and burned on an aerial attack. Bandido rallied back when the action spilled outside the ring yet again, putting Taylor away with his 21 Plex finisher.
A quick graphic shows us that this Monday on Nitro, we'll see "Macho Man" Randy Savage in action as he takes on Mr. Hughes!
Before the next match, Shane Douglas made his way to the announcer's position, flanked by Francine and Mr. Hughes. Douglas demanded someone off camera bring him a microphone. SD: "So here we are, mere weeks away from SuperBrawl and I've heard nothing from anyone about my open challenge. People are afraid to get in the ring with The Franchise! Now I know I said anyone from any promotion, any federation in the world could accept this challenge and I mean it. Obviously nobody here in World Championship Wrestling has any guts, so let me make this clear. Japan, Mexico, England, Australia, Canada, Timbucktwo, it doesn't matter. I'm the Franchise and at SuperBrawl I am issuing AN OPEN CHALLENGE. That means all you gotta do is show up. I don't need time to train, I don't need time to prepare. I am the last of a dying breed in this sport and I want only the best to step up and accept this challenge but you know, maybe people think this is all talk. Maybe they do. So I'll tell you what, two nights from now on Monday Nitro, I'll give you a little preview. Short notice, The Franchise is issuing a special five minute open challenge to anyone in the sport of professional wrestling and I'll even sweeten the deal. If anyone out there shows up and they can last FIVE MINUTES with me, I'll give them five thousand dollars. Don't disappoint me."
3.) Curt Hennig beat Porkchop Cash in 3:10 with the Hennig Plex. - The announcers were reeling from Douglas' challenge for Nitro as Hennig made short work of Cash, taunting him and calling Cash "Bulldog" on several occasions. Hennig hit one Hennig Plex and immediately broke the pin before hitting a second, proving his point that the move is inescapable.
After the bout, Hennig walked over to the announcer's position for an interview. TS: "Curt, that was an impressive performance but I think the ending, two Hennig Plexes, was a bit much." CH: "Shut up, Schiavone. Listen up, Bulldog! We've been doing this dance for a while now, me and you and at SuperBrawl it comes to an end. If you lose to me, you never get another shot and that old buzzard Nick Bockwinkel made it to where if I get counted out or disqualified, I lose my belt. Well you just saw it, I don't need that so-called 'champion's advantage'. I've got the most fool-proof finishing move this sport has ever seen. Once I put you down with the Hennig Plex, that's all she wrote and you're gonna find out at SuperBrawl, you mangy mutt, that nobody beats Curt Hennig! Absolutely nobody."
After Hennig leaves the interview position, a video plays hyping the Windham/Vader title match at SuperBrawl.
4.) "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beat Larry Dillon in 2:26 with the Three Point Charge. - Duggan came into this match like a house of fire and as such, the outcome was never really in question. Duggan mowed through his opponent, making sure to keep his eyes open for his SuperBrawl opponent, Hugh Morris. Morris didn't show his face tonight, but Dillon probably wishes he had the distraction because Duggan nearly decapitated Dillon with the clothesline for the finish.
As Jim Duggan leaves the ringside area, Jim Cornette makes his way to the announcer's position and grabs a microphone. JC: "You know, I've about had it with The Patriot and that snot-nosed punk Bagwell! We go all around the WCW circuit with these two and all they do is cry and complain about alleged illegal tactics and unfair double team moves from my Canadians. I say if they had half a brain between the two of them, they'd see that they're just the inferior team. Earlier today, that old goof Nick Bockwinkel came up to me and handed me a contract that was already signed by Bagwell and Patriot for a match at SuperBrawl and boys, if it's a mugging you want then that's exactly what you'll get! We signed that contract but we might as well have been signing your death warrant because you're oging to fall at the feet of the greatest athletes to ever come out of the country of Canada! And while I'm at it, Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson have been campaigning for a title match with my Heavenly Bodies and it seems they found the appropriate amount of money to get Nick Bockwinkel to hand them a shot. Yeah, hand them a shot! They didn't earn it, they know they're not in the Heavenly Bodies' league! But like I said, you boys are all gonna learn if it's a mugging you want, then it's muggings all around! The music will die, once again, at SuperBrawl and you can mark my words on that!"
5.) "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay beat Sam Houston in 1:14 with a Tombstone Piledriver. - Houston didn't stand a chance as Finlay attacked him before the bell and threw him into the ring post. The commentators noted that Finlay is one of the toughest men in WCW and the board of matchmakers are having a hard time finding people who want to wrestle Finlay. Finlay proved why that may be true, spiking Houston on his head with a tombstone for the victory.
A recap of the Bandido/Taylor match from earlier plays before we head to the second Cruiserweight Tournament bout.
6.) WCW Cruiserweight Championship Tournament - Opening Round: Sabu beat Jerry Lynn in 5:43 with a moonsault. - This was a wild, high flying match from the beginning and while the earlier tournament match saw repeated trips to the outside, this match had only one as Sabu wiped Lynn out with a somersault plancha late in the bout. Lynn tried his best to mount an early offensive run, but Sabu cut him off and ran away with the match. On commentary, Schiavone noted that the Sheik had to be in his mansion with a big smile on his face watching his nephew pull out such an impressive victory.
We're taken to footage from a recent WCW event where Davey Boy Smith defeated King Kong Bundy with his patented powerslam finisher before being attacked by Greg Valentine, only for "Macho Man" Randy Savage to make the save. It's announced that this Monday on Nitro, Smith and Valentine will collide in a major singles match! Also on Nitro, we'll see The Rock 'n Roll Express, Hugh Morris, Big Van Vader and more!
7.) Lord Timothy Thatcher (w/Sir Walter) beat Bryant Greene in 3:24 with the Thatcher Stretch. - The hulking figure from the Thatcher vignette turned out to be Sir Walter, a 6'3" giant who stalked the outside of the ring throughout this short contest. Thatcher stretched Greene with various submission holds, never once letting Greene up from the mat before locking in his patented armbar, the Thatcher Stretch, for the victory.
After the bout, Thatcher made his way to the interviewer's position for an interview. TS: "Welcome to WCW, Mr. Thatcher, that was quite the performance but I've got to ask you what your goals are here and...who is this?" TT: "This is Sir Walter, my bodyguard. He doesn't often have to get involved but when he does, let's just say, the end results aren't pretty." TS: "I can only imagine." TT: "As for my goals, well Mr. Schiavone it's simple. This sport has gotten away from the wrestling, and I mean the real wrestling. Men no longer do what I did here tonight, they don't go into the ring for sport. They go into the ring for show. That's something I happen to take issue with and I'm here in World Championship Wrestling to re-educate them about what wrestling is supposed to be. Make no mistake about it, I'm going to take my mission all the way to the top of World Championship Wrestling and with Sir Walter watching my back, this will be no issue. Good day." TS: "Fans, the main event is next!"
8.) Barry Windham beat Abdullah the Butcher by disqualification in 7:49 when Big Van Vader interfered, attacking Windham. - The censors probably loved this one, Windham was opened by some sort of foreign object early and the cut gushed blood for several minutes leading into the finish. Abdullah took control early but once the bout spilled to the outside, Windham slammed Abdullah into a pole and hit him with a flying lariat on the floor. As Windham tried to get the Sudanese behemoth back into the ring, Vader attacked to force the disqualification. Vader hit Windham with several Vader Hammers before laying Windham out on the floor with a devastating powerbomb. Referees and security personnel surrounded Windham as Jim Ross left the announce position and called for medical attention, but Vader wasn't done. Vader started to make his way through the extra personnel before Stars and Stripes, Davey Boy Smith, Jim Duggan and 2 Cold Scorpio ran him off. Paramedics rushed to the scene with a stretcher and began loading Windham onto it as the show closed, Tony Schiavone pondered if the SuperBrawl main event was in jeopardy.

Card #5, WCW Monday Nitro Nashville Municipal Auditorium Following the opening video, we see a pyrotechnic display as the camera pans to a sold out Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee! The camera quickly turns to the announce desk where we see Tony Schiavone and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan! TS: "Hello again everyone and welcome to the hottest wrestling program in the world, WCW Monday Nitro! As always we are live from Music City and Brain, two nights ago on our sister program, we saw the World's Heavyweight Champion put the main event of SuperBrawl in jeopardy when he powerbombed Barry Windham on the floor." BH: "Race warned Windham a long time ago. He told Windham that if that kid didn't mind his own business, he was gonna get hurt and Vader delivered on that promise." TS: "It was certainly a despicable act, and we're going to have Vader in action here in the opening bout and who knows what that monster is going to do. Also tonight, Brani, the Cruiserweight Championship tournament continues with two more fresh faces here in WCW." BH: "After the last two matches we had in that tournament, I don't know what these guys are gonna be able to do to top what we saw. The athleticism and technique of these smaller guys is just off the charts!" TS: "And from there, we've got Shane Douglas sweetening the pot and offering $5,000 to anyone who gets in the ring with him and can last five minutes ahead of SuperBrawl." BH: "His open challenge for that show still hasn't been accepted, who knows if he'll even have an opponent here tonight. The man is what he says he is, Tony. He is the Franchise." TS: "Well that certainly remains to be seen, Brain. Let's send it to David Penzer for the opening contest!"
1.) Big Van Vader (w/Harley Race) beat CW Anderson and Johnny Gargano in 1:54, pinning both after consecutive Powerbombs. - As if there were any doubt, Vader mauled both of these guys, continuing with his taunts of "Windham" as he smashed both of them with the Vader Hammers and punches to the face. Vader finished the pair off by Powerboming Anderson onto Gargano. After the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund made his way out to interview Vader and Harley Race. MGO: "Vader, I'm going to get straight to the point with this. Why did you Powerbomb Barry Windham on the floor? What reason did you have to jeopardize the man's career like that?!" BVV: "WINDHAM! I TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE NOT READY. YOU DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO PLAY THE PAIN GAME WITH ME, WINDHAM! NOBODY CAN WITHSTAND THE PAIN GAME! YOU SHOULD THANK ME, I SAVED YOU FROM HAVING TO STEP INTO THE RING WITH ME, PUNK!" HR: "We warned you from the start, kid! We told you that you didn't want to find out what this man was capable of and what you got was just a taste! If you make it out of that hospital bed, if you make it to Daytona Beach, we're gonna finish you off!" BVV: "YEAH! IT'S TIME. IT'S VADER TIME!"
We see a video of a festival in the streets of a small town in Mexico. A limousine arrives and out steps a man in a white suit with a mask. He unmasks, looks into the camera and says "NO PASA NADA!" Text comes on the screen, telling us again that RUSH is coming soon to World Championship Wrestling!
2.) The Rock 'n Roll Express of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson beat JC Ice and Wolfie D in 5:43 following a double dropkick. - Coming off the heels of that opening contest, we had a somewhat competitive battle between the RNR and local favorites PG-13. Wolfie D was in the ring for most of the match for his team and made a good showing for himself but the #1 contenders to the World Tag Team Championship could not be denied, pinning JC Ice after their patented double dropkick while Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies looked on from the entrance ramp.
A recap of the Vader assault on Barry Windham, courtesy of Saturday Night, plays as we go back to the broadcast position with Tony and Bobby. TS: "Fans, we've received word that Barry Windham has suffered three broken ribs and against doctor's orders, he has vowed to show up in two weeks at SuperBrawl to challenge Big Van Vader for the World's Heavyweight Championship and Brain, I have to question that decision." BH: "The guy has a lot more guts than brains, he's a lot like his father. You know, I know Blackjack Mulligan. I managed that man. He's one of the roughest and toughest men in the history of this spot but I'm telling you, he needs to sit his son down and explain that it's only going to get worse for him if he gets in the ring with this Vader at SuperBrawl." TS: "It certainly has all the makings of a disaster if you're in the Windham or Mulligan family. Fans, we'll be back right after this with the big man, Hugh Morris! Don't go away!"
Coming back from the break, we're taken to a video of a dark cave. As the camera pans through the cave, we see cave drawings of vampires, zombies and an hour glass before the camera turns to a figure in a hooded robe. The figure looks into the camera and says the time is near. The screen flashes and we're sent back to David Penzer for the announcements of the next match.
3.) Hugh Morris beat Lance Casset in 3:04 with the No Laughing Matter. - I'm not sure who Lance Casset is exactly, but he certainly needs to look into another line of work because pro wrestling does not seem to be in the cards for him. Morris destroyed the local wrestler from the bell, giving him absolutely no chance to mount an offense before hitting the moonsault for the victory. Commentary noted during the match that Jim Duggan was not in the building tonight but has promised to confront Morris before the two meet at SuperBrawl!
This weekend on Saturday Night, we'll see the WCW World Television Championship defended as 2 Cold Scorpio takes on Marty Jannetty, we'll also see "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay, Mikey Whipwreck, the debuting Sandman, Lord Timothy Thatcher and more this Saturday Night!
4.) WCW Cruiserweight Championship Tournament - Opening Round: Lash Leroux beat Mike Bailey in 7:19 with the Whiplash. - Mance Warner was shown seated in the front row prior to the match as commentary noted again that he'd been petitioning to enter the Cruiserweight Championship tournament despite being on the losing team again on Saturday Night. Schiavone mentioned that several competitors from Mexico, England and Japan were still waiting to compete in this tournament. The match itself was a reasonably entertaining back-and-forth battle, with Bailey showing off impressive athleticism as well as his arsenal of kicks but Leroux put him away in the end with the Whiplash.
After the match, Mance Warner emerged from the crowd and hit Mike Bailey with a lariat before throwing Bailey to the floor and delivering an elbow drop off the apron. Warner was escorted out, calling to be added to the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament as the crowd chanted his name.
As we come back from commercial, Tony Schiavone announces that WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel has officially ruled that Mance Warner will be given entry into the WCW Cruiserweight Championship tournament due to the overwhelming support of the fans in Nashville. Schiavone says that Warner's match in the tournament will take place this Saturday Night and if Warner loses, he is banned from World Championship Wrestling forever.
Soon after, Shane Douglas makes his way to the ring flanked by Mr. Hughes and Francine. Upon entering the ring, Douglas takes the microphone from ring announcer David Penzer. SD: "Well, here we are tonight. I'm dressed to compete and I made this a very enticing offer not just for everyone in the WCW, but everyone around the world. All you have to do, if you're really confident in your abilities as a wrestler, as a man, is last five minutes with the Franchise and five thousand dollars can be yours. So let's find out, does anyone have the guts to step up and give the Franchise a public workout before SuperBrawl?"
After a brief moment, Brad Armstrong emerged from the back and rushed the ring, signaling the start of the match!
5.) The Franchse $5,000 5-Minute Challenge: Shane Douglas (w/Francine and Mr. Hughes) beat Brad Armstrong in 4:48 via pinfall after interference from Hughes. - This was as exciting a match as we've seen on WCW television recently, as Armstrong attacked Douglas like a house on fire, nearly pinning the Franchise early on. It was clear that Armstrong wanted to make the most of what was a huge opportunity, but in the end a right hand from Mr. Hughes and what appeared to be a loaded glove gave Douglas the victory over Armstrong.
In the locker room, we see "Macho Man" Randy Savage telling Davey Boy Smith that Savage will be watching the match in case anyone tries to sucker Smith. Smith shakes Savage's hand and thanks him and assures Savage that he'll gain a measure of revenge for Savage against Valentine tonight. Folks, that match is up next!
Before the main event plays, we get a teaser graphic saying that next Monday on Nitro, we'll see Disco Inferno make his in-ring return!
6.) Davey Boy Smith beat Greg "The Hammer" Valentine in 7:58 with the Running Powerslam. - This was a physical bout from bell-to-bell as Valentine chopped Bulldog and assaulted the leg to set up the Figure Four. Unfortunately for Valentine, an errant charge into the turnbuckle was all Smith needed to turn things around and hit the Powerslam for the victory!
After the bout, Curt Hennig attacked Smith. Hennig brought a chair into the ring and placed Smith's leg inside of the chair and instructed Valentine to go to the middle rope. As Valentine climbed, "Macho Man" Randy Savage ran in with a steel chair, causing Valentine and Hennig to flee the scene. Savage helped Smith to his feet and the two stared down Hennig and Valentine to end the show.
Card #11, WCW SuperBrawl Ocean Center WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Big Van Vader (ch; w/Harley Race) vs. Barry Windham WCW United States Championship; Hennig loses the belt on countout or DQ, if Smith loses he can never challenge Hennig again: Curt Hennig (ch) vs. Davey Boy Smith WCW World Tag Team Championship: The Heavenly Bodies of Stan Lane and Tom Prichard (ch; w/Jim Cornette) vs. The Rock 'n Roll Express of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson WCW World Cruiserweight Championship Tournament - Final: TBA vs. TBA Hugh Morris vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine Franchise Open Challenge: Shane Douglas (w/Francine and Mr. Hughes) vs. TBA The Amazing French Canadians of Jacques and Pierre (w/Jim Cornette) vs. Stars and Stripes of Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot

Card #6, WCW Saturday Night Center Stage
Following the opening video, we see a jam-packed Center Stage as we go to our hosts Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross. TS: "Hello again everyone and welcome to another jam-packed episode of WCW Saturday Night. I'm Tony Schiavone alongside Jim Ross and Jim, tonight the Cruiserweight tournament takes center stage as Mance Warner finally gets his shot." JR: "That's right, Tony. We'd seen 'Ol' Mancer', as he prefers to be called apparently, in tag matches but often on the losing end. He'd petitioned the WCW matchmakers for a spot in the Cruiserweight tournament and I guess someone got bumped to put him into the tournament and tonight he has a tough test in Chris Candido." TS: "Candido is one of the best all-round wrestlers in all of WCW and it was said if Warner is unsuccessful in this match that he is banned from WCW indefinitely. Also within this telecast we will have an update on Barry Windham's condition, 2 Cold Scorpio defends the World Television Championship against Marty Jannetty in our feature bout. We've got the Belfast Bruiser, Lord Timothy Thatcher, the debut of the Sandman and yes...Disco Inferno will be in action tonight as well. Let's send it to ringside!"
1.) "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay beat Tim Donst in 2:25 with a Tombstone Piledriver. - Finlay scored another impressive win in quick order with his patented tombstone piledriver. On commentary, Ross mentioned that Finlay is rapidly climbing the rankings in WCW and may find himself in a match for championship gold sooner rather than later.
After the match, Davey Boy Smith made his way to the announcer's position for an interview. JR: "Davey Boy, in just two weeks' time you get your, to be quite frank, last opportunity at Curt Hennig and the United States Heavyweight Championship. WCW matchmakers have made it a very interesting scenario where Hennig can't get himself counted out or disqualified without also losing the championship, but should he pin you or make you submit, you can never challenge him for the title again." DBS: "THat's right, Jim. CurT Hennig has been a big problem not just for me, but for everyone here in WCW and I've tried doing things by the book, doing it the right way. People can claim I now have an unfair advantage, because of the countout and disqualification rule, but I say this just forces Curt Hennig to back up his mouth. And you do have a big mouth, Curt, and I'm gonna shut it for you at SuperBrawl!"
As Bulldog leaves the interview, we see clips of 2 Cold Scorpio's successful title defense against Rob Van Dam from two weeks ago.
2.) WCW World Television Championship: 2 Cold Scorpio beat Marty Jannetty in 6:54 with the Diss That Don't Miss. - Another impressive title defense for 2 Cold, and he had an audience as Fit Finlay pulled up a chair to watch the champion work. Jannetty didn't get much offense in here, this was really just a showcase for 2 Cold. After the match, Finlay got onto the ring apron and began jawing with Scorpio before WCW security had to intervene.
As the chaos in the ring was being settled, Disco Inferno made his way to the announcer's position and grabbed the mic. DI: "Here it is, you've all been writing in, calling in and asking when Disco Inferno was going to come back and continue his undefeated streak. Well the answer to that question is right now! I have one of the most feared men in the sport waiting for me in the ring and I want everyone at home to see what happens when he faces THE most feared man in the sport!"
3.) Disco Inferno beat Dan Daniels in 0:11 with The Last Dance. - Well...he's undefeated at 2-0 over what can only be described as equivalent competition now.
Following the...whatever you want to call that match, Disco began dancing in the middle of the ring until an unfamiliar music hit. The Sandman emerged from the entrance and charged the ring, running Disco off as we went to a commercial break.
4.) The Sandman beat Steve Style in 1:54 with the White Russian Legsweep. - Disco Inferno joined commentary and complained about how disrespectful Sandman was for interrupting his post-match celebration. Disco said someone should show Sandman how things are handled in WCW and when Ross suggested Disco go to the ring and show Sandman, Disco said he was worn out from the grueling match earlier in the show. Sandman stared Disco down from the ring after the match.
We go to some pre recorded comments from Mance Warner, filmed earlier today in the Center Stage parking lot. MW: "Red light on. Ol' Mancer here on Saturday Night, 6:05, TBS baby! Tonight I gotta get in there with ol' Chris Candido. Now, Ol' Mancer don't know too much about Chris Candido but I can tell you this: Ol' Mancer gonna drink his light beers, he gonna get in that ring and he's gonna fight just like Ol' Mancer always does. They said Ol' Mancer can't come back unless he wins tonight, well I don't plan on just winnin' tonight, I plan on winnin' the whole damn tournament! Get the W, hit the pay window! Ol' Mancer out!"
Before the next match, we go back to Tony and Jim at the announcer's position. TS: "Earlier in the telecast, we had promised an update on Barry Windham following the attack by Big Van Vader on last week's program, but unfortunately Windham has not answered our calls since his father gave us an update on Monday regarding Barry's condition. We know it was three broken ribs, some speculated maybe a concussion and Jim, there's no way he's going to be 100% in two weeks at SuperBrawl and Vader knows that." JR: "He has to know it, Tony. It had to have been the entire purpose of the attack, if not to get the match canceled, then to put Windham in such bad shape that it'd be an easy night for the champion, Vader. WCW matchmakers are still discussing a replacement for Windham should he be unable to face Vader for the title at SuperBrawl, but I really don't see Windham missing that opportunity." TS: "He is a very tough, very proud individual and he's waited a long time to get his shot at the big one. Folks, we still have several tremendous bouts remaining tonight, let's go back to the ring!"
5.) Lord Timothy Thatcher (w/Sir Walter) beat Randy Hogan in 5:26 with the Thatcher Stretch. - Thatcher, as he did in his debut last week, opted to stretch and torture his opponent this week, taking much longer than really needed to finish the job but also making sure that everyone watching the show knew that Hogan was no match for Thatcher.
After the match, Shane Douglas makes his way to the announcer's position and takes a mic. SD: "Well I told all of you people that nobody could last five minutes. Even with five thousand dollars on the line, I took a member of one of the most legendary families this sport has ever seen and I made him look average. I proved that nobody here in the WCW has what it takes to beat me, but still we've got SuperBrawl in two weeks. I guess what I did scared everyone off, huh? That five minute exhibition proved that anyone who thought they could step up, just can't measure up. I guess there really is nobody out there who can stand up to 'The Franchise', Schiavone. Well I guess I'll just take these next two weeks off and if come Daytona, come SuperBrawl, nobody wants to step up, I'll just collect the easiest paycheck of my life and accept my championship opportunity that we both know, and everyone at home watching this knows, I damn well deserve."
6.) Mikey Whipwreck beat Luke Combs in 4:33 with a Whippersnapper. - A more competitive match than you might expect on the surface, this was still an impressive win for Whipwreck, who had not been seen since losing to the Heavenly Bodies on the program three weeks prior. The fans were firmly behind Mikey, and after the match we saw that Shane Douglas had been scouting the match from near the entrance the entire time.
This Monday on Nitro, Disco Inferno makes his "long awaited" return to TBS, we'll see more Cruiserweight Tournament action, plus in action we'll have The Heavenly Bodies, The Patriot, and "Belfast Bruiser" Fit Finlay! In the featured bout 2 Cold Scorpio defends the WCW World Television Championship against the always-dangerous Bobby Eaton! Also, we'll hear from Barry Windham about his condition heading into SuperBrawl this Monday night on TNT!
A recap of the main event of Nitro played before the next contest.
7.) "Macho Man" Randy Savage beat Tiger Conway in 3:30 with a Flying Elbow Drop. - A very quick night for Savage as he looked to build more momentum going into the match with Greg Valentine at SuperBrawl. Savage dominated the whole match, Conway didn't really stand a chance.
After the match, Savage went to the announcer's position for an interview. TS: "Randy, that was an impressive win but in two weeks' time you're going to be taking on one of the toughest men in the sport, of course referring to Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. We saw the vicious attack on your leg several weeks ago here on Saturday Night, but it appears that you're back to 100% or at least close to it." RS: "OOOOOHHHH YEAH, GREG VALENTINE YOU TRIED TO INJURE THE MACHO MAN. YOU TRIED TO TAKE ME OUT! You tried to break my leg, yeah BUT YOU DIDN'T HAVE WHAT IT TOOK TO GET THE JOB DONE AND THAT'S THE FIRST MISTAKE, VALENTINE. YOUR FIRST MISTAKE WAS NOT BEING ABLE TO FINISH THE JOB but that's okay, yeah. That's okay because I'M COMIN' TO TAKE YOU OUT AT SUPERBRAWL YEAH! DIG IT!"
After a commercial break, we see the cave that appeared on Nitro. This time, the walls are shown more clearly, still featuring the vampire, the hour glass, the zombies and now showing a monster resembling Frankenstein. The robed figure once again appears on camera and says the end is near and that Doom will cloak all of World Championship Wrestling. The date of SuperBrawl flashes on the screen as we go back to ringside for the main event.
8.) WCW Cruiserweight Championship Tournament - Opening Round: Mance Warner beat Chris Candido (w/Tammy Lynn Sytch) in 8:26 with a lariat. - This had a big fight feel, something we hadn't really seen recently on TBS. The crowd were firmly behind Warner as he dragged Candido into a brawl from bell-to-bell, taking the match into the stands at Center Stage and even over by the announcer's position. The closest Candido came to a victory was when Warner went for the elbow drop off the apron and missed. Warner crawled into the ring at the count of 8 and immediately poked Candido in the eye and hit him with a lariat to get the W. After the match, Warner rushed into the stands and celebrated with the fans to bring the show to a close.
Card #11, WCW SuperBrawl Ocean Center WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Big Van Vader (ch; w/Harley Race) vs. Barry Windham WCW United States Championship; Hennig loses the belt on countout or DQ, if Smith loses he can never challenge Hennig again: Curt Hennig (ch) vs. Davey Boy Smith WCW World Tag Team Championship: The Heavenly Bodies of Stan Lane and Tom Prichard (ch; w/Jim Cornette) vs. The Rock 'n Roll Express of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson WCW World Cruiserweight Championship Tournament - Final: TBA vs. TBA Hugh Morris vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine Franchise Open Challenge: Shane Douglas (w/Francine and Mr. Hughes) vs. TBA The Amazing French Canadians of Jacques and Pierre (w/Jim Cornette) vs. Stars and Stripes of Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot
