CANT FIND A PIC OF HIM SO FROM FACEBOOK Scottish Wrestker, referee and MC Jim Isdale has passed away. Wrestled as Jumping Jim Farrell Not to be confused with our other Jim Farrell this was Jim Isdale, the taller and the younger of the two wrestling Isdale brothers that enlivened the Scottish wrestling scene in the 1970s. Jim started at The Old Mossblown Wrestling Gym as a sixteen year old in the late 1960's. He progressed under the tutelage of Dale Storm and eighteen months later had his first professional bout. Having pursued a busy grappling career for a few years, then having finished his Mechanical Training Jim joined the RAF Regiment and served in many theatres including Northern Ireland.

When I signed Tracy Smothers I got to talk to to him on the phone. It's always cool when that happens. Just a quick chat. Plenty of memorable moments throughout his career. From the Southern Boys in WCW to Smoky Mountain Wrestling and getting a singles push to ECW and the FBI.

I always like to see if a wrestler got to work in Japan during their career. A quick search of my lists found these matches for Tracy Smothers. I would figure there were more. Looking at wrestlers in the game here's Smothers in tag teams with Steve Williams, Stan Hansen and Ted DiBiase.
1988 New Japan
July 25th: The Aomori citizen gymnasium Koshinaka, Fujinami vs Southern Boys
November 11th: Korakuen hall Hashimoto, Chono, Fujinami vs Smothers, Armstrong, Takano (Six-Man Elimination League)
1993 All Japan
August 22nd 1993 (taped 8/20 Tokyo) The Patriot/The Eagle vs. Steve Williams/Tracy Smothers *** 1/4 4:01
August 29th 1993 (taped 8/23 Shizuoka) Mitsuharu Misawa/Kenta Kobashi/Tsuyoshi Kikuchi vs. Steve Williams/Joel Deaton/Tracy Smothers *** 1/2 17:18
September 19th 1993 (taped 9/3 Tokyo) Stan Hansen/Tracy Smothers/Ted Dibiase vs. Mitsuharu Misawa/Kenta Kobashi/Jun Akiyama *** 1/2 8:46
November 28th 1993 (taped 11/24 Osaka) Johnny Ace/Dan Spivey vs. Tracy Smothers/Richard Slinger 1:25 December 12th 1993 (taped 12/1 Nagoya) Shoehi Baba/Stan Hansen vs. Tracy Smothers/Richard Slinger * 1/2 5:46

Very sad news. I met Smothers during the Smoky Mountain Fanweeks back in the mid-90s and he was a genuinely nice guy. Tremendously underrated wrestler. Remember going to ECW's first show in Buffalo, and Tracy was easily the most polished performer on the show.
