I thought the lower and mid-card guys and gals WERE on full time contracts. I had heard that there were very few wrestlers that were allowed to accept other bookings. I've seen Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy wrestle at a local show after the new year, so I'm really not sure how AEW contracts work. I would suspect with only one taping night a week (on Wednesday) and one PPV every 3 months, some guys might want to be able to book other appearances.

Yea with no touring beyond the weekly show it makes sense to let talent work other shows with restrictions. AEW won't pay for 3-5 nights a week of work for guys working 1 night at most. WWE, even ROH, have their tour to keep talent busy earning their pay.

Does this mean the mid card and lower card talent will get full time deals like the Khan crew? And if they want a deal w AEW, just partner w ROH and have them broker it since they’ve been there and done that already. I thought the lower and mid-card guys and gals WERE on full time contracts. I had heard that there were very few wrestlers that were allowed to accept other bookings. As for an ROH partnership... I don't see that really benefiting AEW in any real way. They should really focus on building up their own talent through better story-telling and character building, not propping up a company that has fallen on hard times. I’m still seeing the Jimmy Havoc/Joey Janela/Orange Cassidy guys in various indy feds all over. It appears still like the only full time employees getting that sweet insurance deal are Cody and his crew. 90% of the roster appears to still wrestle outside of AEW. With this new deal you would expect more full time deals to start being offered in 2020. Can’t see too many ex WWE guys who might be jumping ship to work without one of those Elite type contracts.

It seems like a lot of the Lower tier guys can take Indy dates. Either that or AEW is letting them fulfill their bookings made previously. I know MJF’s contract w MLW just ended. It doubt any big WWE guys would be leaving there anytime soon. Can’t recall any big contracts coming up. The Revival wouldn’t be classified big (even tho they are really good). All the Legend type guys will b working back stage after they quit actively wrestling. Vince will make sure everyone’s locked down just to prevent a Mox situation from happening again.
