{Theme from "Six Million Dollar Man" and the opening segment played on the auditorium’s teletron.}
"Ladies and gentlemen, there has been a few things brewing in the LWA territories and the last few broadcasts of the HWA’s has nearly reached a boiling point when it comes to intensity! Tonight in the main event will hopefully give redemption for Bobo Brazil and Antonio Inoki on the EWF’s big man himself (King Kong Bundy) and a ‘mystery’ partner in which the Bundy camp has been very tight lipped about who exactly will be his corner.
Also, tonight for the first time in the HWA the number one contenders to the National Tag Team Championship will be decided by a Fatal Four Way Match and will face off against the unbeaten Road Warriors to challenge for those championship titles!
Welcome to downtown Omaha, Nebraska and the Heartland's home arena- the world renowned Omaha Civic Auditorium! This is Bill Mercer the voice of the Midwest and ladies and gentlemen we have a fabulous card this evening! We’ll send you down to ringside and hand over the microphone to Marc Lowrance."
George Hackensmidt (2) pinned Frank Gotch (3): The opening bout was a real barn burner as both wrestlers involved seemed to have a counter to the other’s move. The Estonian would use his power to counter Gotch’s waistlock takeover with his own waistlock suplex to set the LWA’s first overall draft choice up for a single leg pick up and slam that garnish the pin. (** ½).
Don Leo Jonathan (1) thumped Danny Doring (2): These two faced off on the last broadcast and Doring wanted a rematch as he stated that the last time these two met he lacked concentration and was rusty in singles bouts. The “Mad Mormon” was more than happy to take on the former Team Xtreme member again as he countered a DANACONDA with a school boy roll up and once again caught his opponent in the MORMON SWING for the easy pinfall. (* ½).
Justin Credible (2) losing streak continued against Giant Baba (by DQ): Another rematch from the last broadcast but the result was the same. Baba took the hardcore legend more seriously this time however and manhandled Credible with a NECKBREAKER DROP that nearly won the bout. Justin Credible rolled out onto the ringside area floor and as expected Baba pursued his opponent. Baba was blasted with a SINGAPORE CANE across the forehead and Bronco Lubic called for the bell and awarded the contest to the Giant as a result of a disqualification (*).
As mentioned earlier in the broadcast, several breaking stories have surfaced since our last broadcast! That will the focus of this installment of “The Tale of the Tape”.
The challenge that Mil Mascaras put out to Don Muraco without Sir Oliver Humperdink at ringside went unanswered (as expected)! Rumor has it that the CCW is set to liquefy its assets and will be up for sale soon and as always the HWA will keep everyone posted if a official statement is issued by either the CCW or it’s new owners.
Once again, the team of ‘Jumping” Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair a.k.a. (ironically also from the CCW) the Killer Bees are under contract for several weeks starting at Event #10! These two have expressed interest in facing off against the quartet of Vicious & Delicious (that is if you count the divas) and the young fans are already bringing signs welcoming them to the HWA.
The HWA National Tag Team Champions issued a challenge on Event#6 for Jim Cornette’s Midnight Express to come to the Heartland and face the Road Warriors in a steel cage match! Lo and behold, the WCCW Tag Team champions have taken Paul Ellering’s challenge and the two federation champions will face one another at Event#10!!
Speaking of Event#10, the second installment of the Night of Legends will take place at the Rosenblatt Stadium and the event is shaping up to be one for the ages! And folks, there are just two matches signed so far…So fans, don’t wait until the last moment for tickets because they’ll surely sell quickly!

Ivan Koloff busted open Jim Londos (3):[/u] “The Russian Bear” went after Londos like a man possessed and obviously is looking to climb the championship ladder after his loss to the National Champion on the last broadcast. Koloff landed an elbow smash on the Greek before using a backbreaker to send him reeling into the turnbuckle next to the steel chain that almost accompanies the Russian to ringside. Always the opportunist, Koloff used the chain to choke the life out of Londos and then clamped on the RUSSIAN BEARHUG to force Londos to tap out. (* ½).
**Fatal Four Way Match**
#1 Contenders Match:
Eastern Dynasty (Rikidozan/Tiger Mask) defeated Vicious & Delicious (Buff Bagwell (1)/Chris Candido) (w/ Sherri Martel & Sunny), Latino Connection (Mil Mascaras/Konnan), and Vachons (Mad Dog/Butcher): A lot of distractions during the match as both divas continuously stuck their noses into the bout! The divas were chased off to the backstage area by the Latino Connection as they finally became fed up with the diva’s antics! Butcher Vachon fell oddly after being pushed off the top of the turnbuckle by Chris Candido and was being comforted by Mad Dog Vachon. This left two teams looking to become number one contenders to face off against the National Tag champions on the next broadcast! After the ten minute, Rikidozan put THUNDEROUS CHOPS on Buff Bagwell for the three count! Candido tried the pin save but was caught by a spectacular twisting moonsault by Tiger Mask and was taken out of the equation (½ *).
Johnny Valentine beat Jushin Liger (1): The former National Champion made quick work of the Asian superstar and early on had set the tone of the match with a jar dropping big chop to Jushin’s chest that echoed throughout the auditorium! After about six minutes, Valentine used a forearm hammer and an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER for the easy win. (½ *).
**Special Challenge Match**
Bobo Brazil (3) & Antonio Inoki (3) won against King Kong Bundy (2) & Ric Rude (8): Oh my goodness! The mystery partner of Bundy was the LWA World Champion Ric Rude and he showed exactly why he is the LWA territory number one man as he gave it as well as he could take it! In the opening minutes of the bout, Bundy landed an AVALANCHE on Inoki and went for the pin but Rude insisted on that he be the one to pin Inoki…umm, nooo…Inoki kicked out of the pin attempt and would tag out to Bobo Brazil! The HWA champion used COCO BUTTS several times but couldn’t get the three until Rude went for the RUDE AWAKENING and Bobo countered with a school boy roll up for the surprising upset on the LWA champ! (****).
“What a surprise fans! Tune in next broadcast of the Heartland Wrestling Alliance as I am sure the LWA World Champion Ric Rude will have something to say about the match tonight. Plus, the Road Warriors face off against the Eastern Dynasty for the much talked about tag titles, and several other exciting bouts! This is the voice of the Midwest signing off…thank you and see you next time fans!”
