WrestleMania 36 Bans Fans, Will Stream Live from Training Facility
WrestleMania 36 No Fans Allowed Will Stream Live from Training Facility
WrestleMania 36 WILL happen on April 5 -- but without fans.
"In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place," a spokesperson tells us.
"However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view."
"Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania."
WrestleMania 36 has NOT been canceled -- at least not yet -- this according to our WWE sources.
There has been a ton of pressure on WWE to call off the April 5 event at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida due to the coronavirus pandemic ... since it's expected to attract more than 70,000 people!
Despite calls to postpone from local officials, WWE has not pulled the plug -- and fans around the world are wondering what Vince McMahon will do.
But, one high placed WWE source tells us there's still a chance Mania will happen in some capacity. We're told the situation is fluid. Nothing is set in stone just yet. However, one of the options on the table is a no-fan event (like UFC) but WWE will still broadcast the event live.
Of course, Mania is the biggest and most important event in pro wrestling -- the WWE calls it their Super Bowl.
But, with so many sports and entertainment companies shutting down as part of the effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, all eyes are on WrestleMania ... which is now less than 3 weeks away.

WWE confirmed to us this evening that WrestleMania 36 and the WrestleMania Week events in the Tampa Bay, Florida area have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. WrestleMania 36 will still air on April 5 at 7pm ET via the WWE Network and pay-per-view, but it will air from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, with no crowd.
In an update, WWE has also confirmed that the WWE NXT “Takeover: Tampa Bay” event and the 2020 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will not take place as originally scheduled. While these two events will not be airing from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, it’s likely that they will end up airing from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, but that has not been confirmed as of this writing.

What sucks from what I understand no government officials have put a ban on large events in Tampa so now the indies pretty much have to cancel on their own and eat the losses. I'm mad at Tampa officials.

When there is hardly any other sport on and you need the money and viewers . Then behind closed doors it will be , Gonna seem odd though ?

Will be odd but it will be something new in this time where everyone is home watching TV. I might even watch.

I could not watch RAW for 5 minutes last night. Felt like I was watching auditions or something. No way I can watch WM. They should postpone it. No point in having it in front on no fans at the tiny training center.

No point in having it in front on no fans at the tiny training center. I felt the exact same way. It was just awkward. I watched the Edge promo and saw that they were going to replay the Rumble and said “Right. I’m out.”

Beyond the live events WWE is tied into sponsorship deals, etc. The latest rumor going is that this move to the PC is a best effort to live up to the sponsorship deals to run the event, but that it will be called off in the end due to changes in state rules around gatherings, etc. Then they can claim any insurance, since they did what they could to continue the event. The rumor also points to Mania being moved to June 7th at MSG.
