LOW STATE OF THE UNION
It was announced in local newspapers that the new owner of Legends was about to address the issue of the various feds that had been run by previous owners. MiJo Barons was introduced and came out wearing a sweat jacket with various wrestling logos sewn on. Faded jeans, a Wisconsin baseball cap and old aviator glasses.
MiJo: Hello. I first want to say welcome. I recently purchased ownership of the Legends and immediately shut down the various leagues. Immortals, Big Show Wrestling, Legends North America, Windy City Championship Wrestling, Mid-Ameica Wrestling, Boot Camp Pro, MTV Wrestle Factory, Tri-State Wrestling, East Street Wrestling, and the dozen other little cross promotions that sprung up. As of now the Legends of Wrestling are reunited under one banner. In a few months time, once the reconstruction of the warehouse is done, Legends Hall will open. As the owner I’ve decided that the following champions will retain their titles coming in and be given the LOW minted belts.
The wall screen lit up with the list of current champions:
LOW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Macho Man Randy Savage LOW UNITED STATES CHAMPION: Harley Race LOW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION: Vacant LOW WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPION: Magnum TA LOW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) LOW WORLD SIX-MAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Sheepherders (Luke Williams & Butch Miller) LOW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: Cheerleader Melissa
MiJo: As you all noticed the Intercontinental title is vacant due to Ted DiBiase trying to buy it after former champion Frank Gotch left Legends North America. Mr. DiBiase released a statement regretting his actions not realizing the dangerous president it was opening. The official who accepted the money has been fired and the title belt was reclaimed. A battle royal will take place on the first show with DiBiase as one of the men chosen to partake. Ticket prices will be $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children twelve and under. Senior Citizens will be $2.00 and Veterans $00.50.
Media Person #1: Do you have plans to do crossover events or talent share?
MiJo: There might be a future planned event down the road, but no talent sharing holding multiple contracts. The LOW needs to become a steady promotion on its own merit and promoting talent from other promotions will confuse fans as to who belongs where. But as always, no plan survives contact.
Media Person #2: What of the recent actions by Randy Savage and his attacks in other promotions? He’s appeared in other promotions even before your first show. He’s stirred up a lot of hard feelings.
MiJo: (sighs) I’ve apologized to those promotions and have assigned a handler to keep the Macho Man focused on LOW. I can’t say it enough that Randy Savage while the LOW World Champion was acting outside the bounds and at no way represents LOW with his actions. I’ve apologized to Chikara champion Suge D and Evolve Champion Drew McIntyre. I’ve contacted ROH to meet with their World Champion but Jay Lethal has not returned any messages or calls. (MiJo claps his hands.) Now that is enough of that. I will allow one final question. (laughs) Please be gentle.
Media Person #3: Mr. Barons, you’ve literally came out of nowhere with an astonishing amount of money. Where did you come from? How’d you make your fortune?
MiJo: I am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and two loving parents. I made my fortune at the casino tables and slot machines and I’ve been a rabid wrestling fan since before I could walk. I saw a dream and I decided to make it mine with wrestlers I grew up watching with Granddad. Now the Q&A is finished. See you all at the opening bell. Fans are more interested in the ring action and not the soap opera that is my bad life.
Reporters were trying to ask more questions but MiJo walked away and left the room quickly.

Saturday Night Showdown #1 2020.01.04 Legends Hall, Chicago, IL
Trish Status is standing near the entrance and has a microphone.
Trish Stratus: Hello and welcome to Legends of Wrestling! This is Saturday Nigh Showdown! United under one banner and ownership for the first time in our memory. The new owner spent a fortune buying up contracts from the numerous territories and streamlined the titles and contenders. And we’ll open everything up with the United States title that Harley Race won two months ago in Detroit, beating El Generico, who went to Ring of Honor. Harley Race will be facing off with Rob Van Dam who won this chance in a tournament last month in Japan to win this opportunity.
LOW UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIIP Harley Race* w/Bobby Heenan vs. Rob Van Dam w/Alphonse -While RVD enjoyed control of the match, hitting a high-flying offense ending with the FIVE-STAR FROG SPLASH, Race kicked out with ease then took control thanks to Heenan’s distraction. A brutal series of head butts had RVD staggered, but it was a second PILEDRIVER that scored the three count. 1 ½ * Winner: Still champion: Harley Race via pin fall Harley’s celebration is interrupted with the arrival of Jerry Lynn. Lynn checked on RVD then started to argue with the referee about Heenan’ being involved but Race ignored him as they left.
Trish Stratus: What an opening contest, and already people are lining up to take a crack at the United States champion. But right now we go to tag team action, as the Flying Redheads take on Hotel Moscow, known in some regions as the Bolsheviks
Flying Redheads (Red Bastien & Billy “Red” Lyons) vs. Hotel Moscow (Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov) -Bastien struck faster than thought but a blind tag from Zhukov to Volkoff saw the game change as Nikolai tossed Bastien around like a wet sack. Lyons saved Bastien twice from being pinned, but Iron Sheik distracted the referee coming to the ring as the Russians with a double team superplex got the three count. 1 1/2 * Winners: Hotel Moscow via pin fall
Trish Stratus: A dangerous pair, and in the hunt for the LOW World Tag Team belts, but many feel they need more wins before they can face the Warriors, who we shall see in action later tonight. But now we hold the LOW Television title match as Magnum TA makes his first defense against Angelo Poffo since he won the title in Texas.
LOW WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Magnum TA* vs. Angelo Poffo w/Lanny Poffo -Lanny played spoiler several times in saving his father from being pinned. Angelo was nearly counted out but Lanny helped him back into the waiting BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX from Magnum. 2* Winner: still champion: Magnum TA via pin fall
Trish Stratus: Magnum TA with a dominating showing in his first defense. I’m told that new challengers are already lobbying to face him next week. Up next we have the first women’s match, and I am so jealous as Hosaka takes on April Hunter are the first women to represent the division in the LOW.
April Hunter vs. Hosaka -The match started with Hosaka in charge, but a reversal off the ropes saw Hunter get a solid two count, then Hunter off the tope rope with a sunset flip got another near fall. Hosaka was tossed out of the ring but came back by dragging Hunter out of the ring and rammed her into the ring post, but neither woman heard the count as they fought on the floor and were surprised when the bell rang when the referee’s count reached ten. 0* (dud) Winner: DOUBLE COUNT-OUT
Trish Stratus: Well, the first official women’s match ends in a double count out in the books, but we’ll see more women later. Up now we have Blackjack Mulligan against Stan Hansen and a word of warning to the fans here, this might be violent.
Stan Hansen vs. Blackjack Mulligan -Both men were like bulls as they collided. After the ropes and turnbuckles were no results the fight went out of the ring where they sent one another into the ring post and barricade. Hansen sent Mulligan over into the fans and made it into the ring beating the count as Blackjack was counted out. 2* Winner: Stan Hansen via count out
Mulligan was entering the ring intent to continue to fight, but the attack from Steve Williams and Terry Gordy was vicious as the MVC pummeled the man, and turned to Hansen, their assault soon had the Lariat down as Williams grabbed the microphone from the ring announcer.
Steve Williams: SHUT UP! YOU PEOPLE…THIS WAS CRAP! TERRY AND I WERE SET TO CHALLENGE FOR THE NEW JAPAN TAG TEAM TITLES, BUT WE WERE BROUGHT HERE DUE TO SOME IDIOT BUYING OUR OLD CONTRACTS, AND THEN TOLD THAT WE DIDN’T HAVE A MATCH TONIGHT. WHAT DO WE SEE? TWO WASHED UP COWBOYS HAVING A SLAP AND TICK…
Hansen attacked Williams, hitting him with a bull-rope. Gordy went to aid his partner but was attacked by Mulligan with a branding iron. The MVC was beaten down as Hansen hit Williams with his arm wrapped in the bull rope LARIAT and Mulligan with a clothesline sent Gordy over the top rope to the floor. LOW officials rushed out to separate them.
Trish Stratus: And as officials clean this up and separate the men we get ready for six-man tag team action, as the LOW Six-Man Tag Team champions; Jim Duggan, Luke Williams and Butch Miller in a non-title match take on Johnny Valentine and the Vachons; Mad Dog and Butcher in what should be a level of action we have yet to see.
SIX-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Hacksaw Jim Duggan & The Sheepherders (Luke Williams & Butch Miller) vs. Johnny Valentine & the Vachons (Mad Dog & Butcher) -Luke had control of Butcher but sent him to the corner once to often and Mad Dog was tagged in. the six men ended up in a huge brawl and no one listened when the referee called for the bell. Duggan cleared the ring armed with a 2x4. (dud) Winner: DOUBLE DISQUALIFICATION
Trish Stratus: What a fight. Luckily the six-man belts weren’t on the line as Duggan and the Sheepherders were rocked from the opening bell. (Listens to her headset) And up next we go to the battle royal, where we will crown our first Intercontinental Champion. Ten men have been selected, and after this we will have then first official champion.
LOW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE ROYAL Brad Armstrong – Ted DiBiase – Buddy Rogers – Iron Sheik – Curt Henning – Barry Windham – Bobo Brazil – Jim Brunzell – Big Van Vader – The Destroyer -Vader was a tank knocking everyone around and it took Henning and Windham to knock him off his feet. The Destroyer attacked Henning and sent him to the ropes. Vader recovered and floored Windham. Iron Sheik had Armstrong in trouble and locked in the CAMEL CLUTCH. Sheik released Armstrong to attack Brunzell and after some brutal shots sent Brunzell over the ropes to the floor eliminating him. Destroyer got in Vader’s way and after some brutal blows, the Destroyer was the second man eliminated. Iron Sheik was the third man eliminated by Barry Windham. Henning was the next to be eliminated as Brad Armstrong after a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP then toss him out dazed. Buddy Rogers was the next elimination by Ted DiBiase who was eliminated seconds later by Bobo Brazil. Windham was hammering Brunzell and didn’t see Bobo who hit the COCO BUTT, and Barry was eliminated. Bobo and Armstrong worked together trying to get rid of Vader, but the Mastodon powered though and had both men down. Vader threw Armstrong over the ropes, but he landed on the apron. Vader was beating Brazil when Armstrong returned and hit the RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP. And as Vader used the ropes to get up, Brazil hit the COCO BUTT, knocking Vader over the ropes to the floor. Armstrong and Brazil went back and forth, with nearly a double elimination after a head to head collision. Armstrong avoided the COCO BUTT hit the RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP before tossing Brazil to the floor. (*****) Winner: New Champion: Brad Armstrong
Trish Stratus: (fans are cheering loudly) Congratulations tp Brad Armstrong, the first official undisputed LOW Intercontinental Champion. This Chicago crowd loves it! The action isn’t over as we go to LOW World Tag Team titles, as Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton; the Fantastics look to challenge Hawk and Animal; the Road Warriors, who won the Legends Tag Belts in Japan beating Cheeseburger and Jushin Liger, both who have contracts elsewhere and management will try and sign them later. But now it is time for the tag team titles.
LOW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal)* w/Paul Ellering vs. Fantastics (Tommy Rogers & Bobby Fulton) -Rogers and Fulton never got their entrance attire off as the Road Warriors attacked. Animal hit Rogers with the POWERSLAM three times, each time kicking out. Rogers tried to make the tag but failed, even as Animal tagged Hawk and they hit the DOOMSDAY DEVICE and the three count followed as Fulton failed to make the save. (**) Winners: still champions: Road Warriors via pin fall
Trish Stratus: The Road Warriors show no sign of slowing down or being stopped. Since Japan they have been on a march of destruction and Paul Ellering is at the controls. Well this leads us to the main event. The LOW World title is on the line in a triple threat match as King Kong Bundy and Bruiser Brody challenge the Macho Man Randy Savage.
MAIN EVENT LOW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH “Macho Man” Randy Savage* vs. Bruiser Brody vs. King Kong Bundy -Bundy attacked Brody and after a savage onslaught, tossed Brody out of the ring. Savage got into the fight with a flying axe handle off the top rope. Savage with three more before tossing Bundy out of the ring. Bundy and Brody started to fight but Savage with a flying axe handle hit Brody after he used a chair on Bundy. Back in the ring, Savage with a small package off the ropes reversal had a solid two count. Bundy returned to the ring and attacked the Macho Man and hit the AVALANCHE, Brody recovered and used a chair to break up the pin, hammering both Bundy and Savage. The referee took the chair away and was disposing it when Jay Lethal of the ROH came out of the crowd and attacked Brody, hitting the LETHAL INJECTION. Lethal retreated, unseen and Savage recovered and hit the FLYING ELBOW DROP and covered Brody for the three count. (*****) Winner: Still champion: Macho Man Randy Savage via Pin fall
Savage was raising the title belt when Lethal with a microphone reappeared in the crowd.
Jay Lethal: Hey, Randy! Randy! I’ve got just two words for you tonight…YOU’RE WELCOME!
Lethal tossed then microphone aside and walked to an exit as Savage went wild in the ring.
Trish Stratus: What a match, despite Jay Lethal’s interference at the end, all three men slugged it out, and Macho Man is still the LOW champion. and I am being told we are out of time. Tune in again next week for more LOW action.
Trish had just taken her headset off when she was hammered from behind by the LOW Women’s champion; Cheerleader Melissa who ranted that she was the top woman here and not her retired ass.
The show ends with the Women’s champion shown kicking the downed Stratus several times.

Thanks Bri. LOW is going to be slow as the care center keeps moving my cards out of reach. my GWF stuff is packed in storage , so I need to see how I build this between therapy and appointments. LOW should also see Tier-1, AWE, Beyond, Best of and More as time builds. Trish is the face for now. time will tell how that goes. CAC has some interesting characters.

LOW Lowdown #1 2020.01.08 Legends Ballroom, Chicago, IL
Matt Stryker: Hello and welcome to Legends of Wrestling; Lowdown. I am Matt Styker and joining me at the broadcast table is the one and only, Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Roddy Piper: Ah this is what many call the B-Show being seen by all our fans online, but don’t let it fool you. Showdown might be the main show and these matches would constitute dark matches most places…but not here.
Matt Stryer: That is true and if there is any doubt, the owner is coming to the ring, but before he does, I am honored to announce that the LOW is working with other promotions to usher in the Women’s Tag Team titles, which will be held by SHIMMER, and women from all around will team up. LOW has four teams entered in this two day event, so we shall see how things go.
Roddy Piper: Don’t let the pretty faces fool you. We saw Cheerleader Melissa throw a beating on Trish Stratus at the end of Showdown. And some of those gals have the personality of a rattlesnake.
The owner of LOW comes out carrying a title belt and a microphone, he waits for the crowd to settle down and the locker room comes out, filling the entrance area and aisle.
MiJo: Yeah, that’s right, come out here. What you people are about to see is pure and simple. It was noted by several people that I failed to sign the cruiserweight champion, which has a long and questionable history and is in the possession of Ring of Honor star Paul London, and its being promoted as theirs. I also had not signed the Hardcore title, which isn’t a mistake and is in possession of CZW star Nick Mondo. Congratulations gentlemen thank you for services in the old LOW, but it was scattered and not under proper managment. But I am going to fill the gaping void left and introduce the LOW Never Openweight No Limits Championship. It is the lovechild of both divisions with the athleticism and aerodynamics of the cruiserweights merged with the smash mouth and extremist brutality of the hardcore divisions. Earlier today I visited the locker rooms and handed out envelopes. If you would all open them now. (The wrestlers held up the envelopes and opened them, pulling out the cards inside)
MiJo: What you see is a chance. Twenty of you will find a black spot on the card. That is your invitation to the match. The rest of you…please leave. (The wrestlers filed out, some of them not happy not being selected.) Now, those who remain here is how this works. To get the title, there is no pin or submission required in this match. The referee is going to hook the title and hoist it over the ring. You need to get a ladder from ringside, climb up retrieve the belt, bring it down and cross the line of tape at the entrance to be declared the winner. (MiJo handed the belt to the referee and went and sat next to the timekeeper and had him ring the bell.)
20-MAN SCRAMBLE MATCH LOW NEVER OPENWEIGHT NO LIMITS CHAMPIONSHIP Alexis Smirnoff – Sodbuster Kenny Jay – Jimmy Valiant- Johnny Valiant – George South – Sam Houston – Dr. Jacob Omen – Lanny Poffo – Iron Sheik – JJ Dillon – Lou Thesz – Jake “Milkman” Milliman – Tom Pricard – Gorgeous George – Jimmy Snuka – Justin Credible – Mikey Whipwreck – 2 Cold Scorpio – Jacque Rougeau – Redd Dog -It was nearly a minute as the wrestlers seemed unsure of what to do. Mikey Whipwreck got to the ladders first before the other reacted and rushed starting to brawl with each other. JJ Dillon had the first ladder set up but was blindsided by Jacob Omen, and nearly twenty minutes of attempts climbing by various wretlers before the belt was brought down by Sam Houston who was knocked out by Justin Credible and hi kendo stick. Credible was taken down by Snuka and the belt picked up by the Valiant brothers who argued and fought each other. George South grabbed the belt and was nearly up the aisle when the Milkman blindsided him and they fought into the crowd. Jacque Rougeau picked up the belt and crossed the tapeline finish. Winner: New Champion: Jacque Rougeau
Matt Stryker: Well we have our first official No Limits champion…and it is the Mountie Jacque Rougeau.
Roddy Piper: (makes gagging sound) Ugh, that tool shouldn’t be allowed any kind of title. But, Jacque is our champion (makes gagging sound) The man is a textbook tool.
Matt Styker: May the odds be ever in his favor, keeping that belt will be something to see.
Roddy Piper: Are you high or something?
Backstage: Rougeau is shown walking backstage when he runs into his partner Pierre Carl Ouellet. They celebrate and cheer about Rougeau’s winning the belt when Steve Corino attacked them with a kendo stick, then ramming Rougeau’s head off the wall several times. Ouellet recovered and tackled Corino and they started brawling. Officials went to check on Roueau and called for help to separate the two fighters. The owner MiJo arrived and ordered the two men to get to the ring and fight it out there. “Fans deserve to see this.”
Steve Corino vs. Pierre Carl Ouellet -Ouellet tosses Corino out of the ring where he uses the ring post and stairs repeatedly and not listening to the referee’s warnings was disqualified after tossing Corino into the ring post in a giant swing. Winner: Steve Corino via disqualification
Matt Stryker: The match is over and Ouelett treating Corino like yesterday’s garbage as he swings him again into the ring post. And here comes the medical staff.
Roddy Piper: And the Boss has seen enough sending Giant Baba out as the enforcer. Ouellet seeing the size of Baba wisely gets a steepin’, likely back to Canada.
Matt Stryker: Well I’m told that the Boss calls the security team the Brute Squad and its made up of only three people.
Roddy Piper: Well, with Giant Baba you don’t need more, unless you’re counting him twice. But Ouellet got a piece of Corino to be sure.
Matt Stryker: (shakes his head) Well, we go from the men beating the hell out each other, to getting too see more of the women as Rocking Robin and Princess Victoria will clash, trying to get noticed and into position to challenge for the women’s belt.
Rocking Robin vs. Princess Victoria -Some tentative moves and counters off the ropes, but Robin with the first high impact move off the top rope stunned Victoria and Robin with the FLYING BULLDOG got the three count on a stunned Victoria. Winner: Rockin’ Robin via pin fall
Roddy Piper: And just like that it’s over.
Matt Stryker: Victoria and Robin were hesitant at first, but you blinked and Robin kicked it up a notch to get the win. And take a step up to challenge for the women’s title.
Roddy Piper: (snorts) Yeah, when Melissa is done attacking Trish, she might see the other women.
Matt Styker: Well the night here is nearly done and we’re going to the main event. He was just signed and comes to us as a champion.
Roddy Piper: How does that work?
Matt Stryker: Well when he was over seas, MiJo signed the man, who left with the belt still around his waist, so the Boss has renamed it the LOW European Championship. And the champion I making his first LOW match…a European championship match.
Roddy Piper: You have yet to say who the new champion holder is. Why won’t I like this?
MAIN EVENT LOW EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP British Bulldog Daveyboy Smith* vs. Bruno “Baby Face” Moretti -Moretti was hammered by the Bulldog the moment the bell sounded, and after a one sided beat down, Smith with the RUNNING POWERSLAM got an unchallenged three count. Winner: still champion: British Bulldog Daveyboy Smith via pin fall
Matt Stryker: And that is the end of Lowdown. Remember to tune in to the main show, where Dark Menace is rumored to be.
Roddy Piper: You weasel. What is that...person here doing here?
Matt Stryker: Well, I didn’t want to be the one to tell you of the recent signings. Well, we bought up the legends in Mexico, the UK and the scattered independents. M…MiJo also bought up stars from Tier-1, AWE and signed a group who has been talked a lot about…
Roddy Piper: (shakes his head) No…no. He wouldn’t do that after what happened at Utah show.
Matt Stryker: He did. Coming to a LOW ring soon is…the Dark Menace and the DMF.
Roddy Piper: I hate you…but him and his goons I hate more.
Matt Styker: Easy Roddy. I’m sure that MiJo has things covered.
Roddy Piper: Yeah, like the scorpion and frog…but this frog isn’t going to trust the scorpion at his back.

Hey barflymike4ever! I totally know what ur up against - my playing / posting and catching up on my ever increasing list of bookmarked feds seems to get scarcer and scarcer. But having said that I've gotta say that this was an awesome opening card! The interplay between the announcers is very amusing and the in ring / match descriptions are just right. Really enjoyed that!

Pre-Recorded:
Jay Lethal the ROH Champion looked around the currently empty arena before raising the microphone and looking right into the camera.
Jay Lethal: As some of you know I won the sixty-man royal rumble last week in Dubai India. I stand before you the champion that you deserve. I started the night at number one and I was the last man in the ring. Rhino, Ciampa, Matt Taven. Kazarian, Brian Kendrick, Jay Briscoe, Roderick Strong, Homicide, Colt Cabana and Michael Elgin. I eliminated each of them. Then there was Kenny Omega. He tried dumping me out several times, but I hung in there and delivered three Lethal Injections to the Cleaner and I tossed him out of the ring like the piece of trash he is. AND WHEN…(coughs) And when the referee raised my arm in victory, what happened? A man I looked up to, a man I respected came out of the crowd and jumped me from me from behind. I’m talking about the LOW World Heavyweight Champion. That’s right, Randy Macho Man Savage. I said your name Randy. The respect I have for you is gone. You, wanted my attention Randy, you got it and more. You’re nothing more than one of those half-blind old dogs that bark at younger dogs passing them by but unable to get off the front porch. So count the days Randy. There is a Lethal Injection in your near future. Now, Randy…Can you dig it? Oh…In case you are not aware, Ring of Honor is holing an inter-promotional pay per view in Japan…and I am giving you Macho Man Randy Savage a personal invitation to the event, to come and fight me face-to-face…OOOOOOOOH…YEAH!

Saturday Night Showdown #2 2020.01.11 Legends Hall, Milwaukee, WI
Matt Stiker: Hello everyone and welcome to the remodeled Legends Hall here in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I’m Matt Stiker, this is Legends of Wrestling’s Saturday Night Showdown. I am here because last week Trish Stratus was attacked. Trish has recovered, and went to the boss, demanding a match against the LOW Women’s Champion, and the Boss went one step further and gave her the match and made it for the Women’s championship, which will be our main event. But we are starting the night with…
“Hurt” by Johnny Cash played and the LOW Owner MiJo Barons walks to the ring. shaking hands with fans before entering the ring and taking the microphone from the ring announcer.
MiJo: Thank you. Thank you. (fans keep cheering loudly) But I came here to tonight to be the bearer of bad news. You see I was watching Lowdown (fans cheer at this) and I realized in my office something very important. As owner and fan I couldn’t be objective to make certain calls or decisions. So I’ve begun a search for a Commissioner. I’ve had three interviews, so far no luck. Hopefully this won’t take long. But time will tell. Now I’ve wasted enough time talking, let’s get it on! (Fans cheer for MiJo as he leaves and the first match is about to start.
Mike DiBiase vs. Bobo Brazil -DiBiase showed great mat skills wearing down Brazil but once it came to the ropes the pace changed into a higher gear and Brazil hit the COCO BUTT six times before finally getting the three count. Winner: Bobo Brazil via pin fall
Matt Styker: DiBiase showed an impressive ring game, but Brazil used the ropes like a master and the Coco Butt put the stamp on the end of the match. Now as much attention as the wrestlers deserve, I want totalk about what the Boss just announced in that there will be a Commissioner sometime soon. But whomever gets the job will be getting thrown into a storm. For example our next match is a result of actions last week as Steve Williams and Terry Gordy picked a fight against two men who were beating the hell out each other, Stan Hansen and Blackjack Mulligan…two cowboys who turned around and fought back. And the Boss made this match for you the fans, so enjoy….I know I will.
Miracle Violence Connection (Steve Williams & Terry Gordy) vs. Stan Hansen & Blackjack Mlligan -Gordy started against Mulligan, and enjoyed a dominant control. Gordy with a cross body block from the ropes had a near fall, and a tag to Williams saw more of the same. Blackjack made a desperate tag to Hansen and the fight intensified exchanging control and hard hitting, but Williams with the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE caught Hansen and got the three count as Gordy took out Mulligan preventing the pin save. Winners: Miracle Violence Connection via pin fall
Matt Styker: Well the MVC with their first official win, and now it means their focus is on the Road Warriors, like every tag team in the LOW. Up next we have spill over from last week’s battle royal in which we crowned the first official Intercontinental champion in the form of Brad Armstrong
Brad Armstrong (IC champ) & Jim Brunzell vs. Curt Henning & Barry Windham w/JJ Dillon -Brunzell and Henning went back and forth, neither keeping control. Henning fell out of the ring and Armstrong tagged in. Henning made it back into the ring only for Brunzell to hit a flying leg lariat from the top rope, Dillon got involved during the pin and was ejected from ringside. Brunzell with a tag to Armstrong who hit the RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP, but Windham was there making the save. Henning with a dropkick, then tagged Windham, who went on a rampage of clotheslines into the turnbuckles. Windham with the CLAW on Armstong saw Brunzell fighting with Henning. Dillon retuned and cheered him on, but what stopped the match was the arrival of Big Van Vader. The Mastodon hammered Henning and Brunzell then POWERBOMB to Windham and Armstrong before hitting the VADER BOMB on Armstrong. The referee ruled the match a no contet as Vader had attacked all four men. Winners: NO CONTEST
MiJo came out not looking happy as Giant Baba lumbered to the ring. MiJo grabbed a microphone.
MiJo: Well, isn’t this just grand. I’m interviewing for the Commissioner and see this on the monitor. Vader…no, this mess will be decided by the man I was interviewing. So folks, please welcome the interm Commissioner of the LOW…TEDDY LONG! (fans cheer as the music hits and Long dances out) Sorry to do this Teddy, but…as you saw on the monitor…this is a trial by fire.
Teddy Long: That is fine Mr. Barons. There is nothing like jumping into the deep end. Now, what we have here is a tag team match, that has gone beyond its mandate and the referee could only make one calling. Now, I could ask Baba to clear the ring and restart the match…but I won’t. no sir. What I will do is kick you all out until next week, where the suicide six pack elimination will take place. (Dillon interrupts)
JJ Dillon: Great idea Teddy, but I am not signed as a wrestler, I am in LOW as a manager, as you will see on my contract.
Teddy Long: You’re right of course JJ. Since you won’t compete in the match you will be banned from the arena Playa, and Mr. Windham will do without your services. Now, I will speak with Mr. Barons about the sixth man for next week. You five will wait until next week before you are allowed to touch one another. (The five men didn’t look happy, and MiJo said something to Long, who smiled) What a wonderful idea, Mr. Barons. Next week the six men will fight…and Brad…You are going to defend the LOW Intercontinental for the first time, next week, against five challengers. Now Giant Baba, please if you would…clear the ring playa.
Matt Stiker: So as we all just heard, Next week a suicide six pack elimination match will take place, and it will be for the LOW Intercontinental championship. And Teddy Long right now is the interim Commissioner. Up next we have tag team action as Luke and Butch the Sheepherders taking on the Vachons; Mad Dog and Butcher.
The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) vs. The Vachons (Mad Dog & Butcher) -Luke was quickly taken down by Butcher, and after a few moves into the turn buckle, Mad Dog was tagged in an the Vachons with a double teamed flapjack. It got more vicious as the Vachons with two more double team moves in the form of a double suplex, then a double back body drop which saw Butcher pin Luke for the win. Winners: the Vachons via pin fall
Matt Stiker: Well this week we have a clear winner, and the Vachons made it look easy. Last week in the six-man tag match, it was a different result. Now we shift gears as the Women’s title is on the line. Cheerleader Melissa won the belt when she was with Legends North America. Last week she attacked Trish Stratus as the show was ending, and has refused to answer why when Trish was looking to be a commentator. Well Mr. Barons wasn’t ready to let it go, and I hear he spoke to Trish, and made this match moments after that. I heard Cheerleader Melissa was not happy.
LOW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP Cheerleader Melissa* vs. Trish Stratus -Both women had brief moments of control, but would lose it quickly. Trish came off the ropes with a sunset flip, but Melissa kicked out quickly. Melissa with a kick to Trish’s spine hit the KUDO DRIVER but Trish kicked out at one. A Chick Kick and an Air Canada took it to Melissa and the Stratusphere left it easy for Trish to hit the STRATUSFACTION, an fans counted out the three with the referee. Winner: New Champion: Trish Status via pin fall
Matt Stiker: And just like that there is a new Women’s champion. Melissa brought it on herself as Trish was going to be a commentator and not get into the ring, but Melissa wiped out that idea with her attack last week. (listens to headset) Up next we have singles action for the men as the Masked Superstar takes on Jimmy Snuka. And that is next.
Jimmy Snuka vs. Masked Superstar -Superstar hammered on Snuka the opening minute, but a reversal into the ropes saw Snuka fired up. Superstar fell to chops and in no time a SUPERFLY LEAP as the referee counted three. Winner: Jimmy Snuka via pin fall
Matt Stiker: Jimmy Snuka with a relatively easy win over Masked Superstar. Snuka I’m told wants to be champion, here’s hoping our Commissioner is taking notes. With the numerous titles, he could be a contender soon for certain. Speaking of titles, the TV belt is on the line next as Tom Prichard is going to test the current champion…Magnum TA.
MAIN EVENT LOW WORLD TV CHAMPIONSHIP Magnum T.A.* vs. Tom Prichard -Prichard managed several near falls, but Magnum fought back and got his own, ending with a BELLY TO BACK SUPLEX off the ropes reversal for a three count. Winner: still champion: Magnum T.A. via pin fall
Matt Striker: And Magnum TA with a comeback to retain the television title. I will say Prichard was all over TA tonight, but a missed opportunity and the champion capitalized and leaves with the belt still around his waist. And with this we end another Saturday Showdown. For the crew and all those in the back, goodnight everybody.
