Stadium Stampede Match was awesome! One of the funnest (& funniest) matches I’ve seen. Worth the ticket price alone. The rest was good, but this was easily “match” of the night.

I'm probably in the minority here but the days of paying $50 for a wrestling ppv are done for me. The ppvs these days are only a little better than the weekly shows. I agree 100%... I was able to watch the last one on Youtube, which was nice. I'd pay $5-$10 maybe, but no way I'd pay $50.. I think WWE realizes that with the Network.... I suspect if AEW is to be viable long term they'll have to have something similar and more the extra content behind a pay wall. I'm a couple weeks behind... I got excited about having some real sports again and have watched alot of NASCAR and KBO the last couple weeks... hoping to catch up this week.

Ya know what I thought was great, IN YOUR HOUSE. Why do you need a 3 hour show when half the talent isnt ready for that and I'm talking both AEW and WWF!!
Two hours is the length of most movies and I think that's about right. Two hour show with the big matches you have been building up for $20 I think would work.
The royal rumble ppv should literally be both rumbles and the world title match. Less is more people.

Overall, I really liked this show alot.
Good tag match during the buy-in, cool to see Private Party pay tribute to Cryme Tyme.
The ladder match was good, but I don't care for the format where another wrestler joins the match every 2 minutes. Now having seen it, I don't think it makes for a better setup than a MITB match where all the other wrestlers start at the same time. I won't be changing the format of my multi man ladder matches in my game feds to match this format which in a dice based format would likely at some point lead to matches being won before some competitors even entered the ring. I did like the casino chip hanging over the ring (in my Ring of Vega fed I have a Vega Warfare match in which the prize is a Golden Casino Chip for a future title shot.) I also liked Jimmy Havoc getting involved to help Kip Sabian and there were some cool spots I have not seen before in a ladder match.
Most of the in-ring matches for this show (such as MJF vs Jungle Boy) were better than most of the in-ring matches from Money in the Bank earlier this month other than Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins. I was glad to see Hikaru Shida become the new AEW Women's Champion and Jon Moxley vs Brodie Lee was even a little better than I expected. It is disappointing to see Shawn Spears used that way though on PPV.
The Stadium Stampede match was far better than the Titan Towers Money in the Bank match from earlier this month. Much better action (such as Adam Page going over the bar to hit Jake Hager with the Buckshot Lariat) and far better comedy (such as Jericho demanding instant replay on a pin attempt.) I did not care for Matt Hardy drowning in the stadium pool though just days after what happened to Shad Gaspard.
I did like last year's Double or Nothing better. Granted last year was historic and I was in attendance and the live experience typically makes the show better for me. But even so, the top matches from last year were definitely better than the top matches of this year. Nevertheless, overall this was a better show then perhaps it first appeared like on paper and I am glad I bought it (even though $50 is alot to pay for a wrestling PPV these days.)
B+
