Gulak is reportedly eligible to sign and compete somewhere else immediately:
Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed Drew Gulak has parted with WWE.
Gulak’s exit was first speculated on this afternoon when his profile was moved to the alumni section of WWE.com. While the his departure has not been announced publicly, sources tell us he is no longer with the company. PWInsider reports his contract expired, he was not released.
Drew joined WWE in 2016 and has been used as part of the cruiserweight division for the most part.
The 33-year-old’s last match in WWE aired Friday night on SmackDown against Daniel Bryan in a losing effort as part of the Intercontinental title tournament. He had also been teaming with Bryan as of late and acting as his coach, even keeping up the gimmick as recently as this afternoon.
Gulak’s contract with the company expired following last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. There were negotiations ongoing between Gulak and WWE to try and re-sign, but they weren’t able to come to a deal in time.
This means Gulak is now an official free agent and can sign wherever he pleases with no worry of a non-compete clause that is customary when a superstar is released.

Ricky Starks is also a free agent as he announced today he decided not to resign with the NWA. Honestly, I might like updates for both Drew Gulak and Ricky Starks if they have changed sufficiently from their last card releases (which I’ll bet they have).

It looks like Drew Gulak is back with the WWE:
Drew Gulak Reportedly Signs WWE Deal, Returning on SmackDown
Drew Gulak has reportedly signed a new WWE contract.
As noted, there was some speculation on Gulak re-signing with WWE after he was added back to the official SmackDown roster on Monday evening. This came after he recently became a free agent when his previous contract expired.
In an update, PWInsider reports that Gulak has inked a new deal with the company. There’s no word yet on details of the new contract, or if WWE granted the request for a pay raise that was previously denied.
Gulak hasn’t wrestled since losing to Daniel Bryan in the Intercontinental Title tournament match two weeks ago on SmackDown, but he is scheduled to make his return to action during this Friday’s SmackDown on FOX. Fightful Select reports that Gulak is currently set to compete in a Battle Royal that is planned for Friday’s show, which will be taped on Tuesday at the closed-set WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
