So I started working from home this week (might have new job lined up though with Post Office!!!!!) doing customer service, log on and wait for inbound call. Allowed to have tv on but no sound. Found on YouTube a channel that plays 80s NFL games in their entirety!!! Last couple days been doing random games but today I went to the beginning and watching the 1980 season week by week (looks like they pick the best 1-2 games of the week).
this man be the bitter old man of the front porch persona that I’m developing but this is awesome, this is the football I love. The defense is allowed to play defense, the graphics look horribly dated but it’s making my day go by faster.
right now watching 1980 week one ... Lions at Rams, been a very fun game to watch so far with some names I remember ...

Nice! Wish I could find that for baseball or better yet hockey. What's the link? I could watch some real charger football as opposed to the traitors in los Angeles.

This is the link for the game I’m watching right now youtu.be/mRr96rx_s64Which can be used to find the channel. I was thinking the same thing for baseball but haven’t found one yet. Late 70s, early 80s fashion is funny ... they put the short in shorts ...

Wow, things have changed for me regarding the NFL from the 1980s.
I grew up in Seattle in the 1980s and at the time I hated the Raiders as they were the biggest rivals to the Seattle Seahawks. The first NFL game I ever got to attend was a Monday Night Football game at the Kingdom in 1988 where the Sehawks hosted the Raiders and the Seahwawks won as Dave Krieg threw 5 touchdown passes.
4 decades later and, as you can tell by my avatar, the Raiders have gone from my least favorite NFL team to my 2nd favorite NFL team (behind the Seahawks who will always be my favorite team.)
The reasons are:
1) my Seahawks returned to the NFC West and thus their current divisional opponents the Cardinals and the 49ers have replaced the Raiders as the teams I dislike.
2) the Raiders have moved here to Las Vegas which is a city, just like Seattle, where I have lived for over 20 years (I moved to Las Vegas in August 1999.) If you actually spend 2 decades in a city, you can cheer for the hometown team IMO, especially if your arrival is before the team's arrival. Plus why would I want the NFL to come here and fail?
It is just weird, the NFL team I liked the least in the 1980s is now my 2nd NFL team. For me, the Raiders were once the biggest heels and now they are huge faces.

Strange YouTube playlist today ... - Packers/Broncos super bowl - Dolphins/49ers super bowl - BIlls/Giants super bowl ... all three games that the losing team had a really good chance but something went wrong and all in the second quarter lol. Packers spot Denver like 17 pts that really swung the game to the point where Favre has to play from behind the rest of the game. The Dolphins look to be playing strong until 49ers player clearly fumbles and they return it for TD, play called no fumble thought. 49ers score shortly thereafter and right before the half. Game goes from 21-17 to 28-10. Bills game, stop blaming Norwood. After the safety Reed drops an easy pass that puts them in FG range, possibly could have gotten FG or taken more time off clock. WRs dropped a lot of balls here in the first half that give them one or two of those and the game completely shifts to a 15-3 or even 19-3 halftime lead.
Funny thinking about the WHAT IFS huh ...

You nailed it. As a Lions fan, they have lost so many games in so many horrible ways, but in most cases it added up to them just not playing good enough before said "event" (picked up flag, 10-second runoff, Calvin Johnson rule, fail Mary, countless penalty no-calls, those damn crooked refs, etc.). I still feel bad for Norwood, all these years later.

Speaking of, that god damn Hail Mary Rodgers threw against the Lions was BS and I’m not saying that cause I had the Lions and the exact score in the game and It cost me hundreds of dollars ... that was the last year I gambled lol especially after the hit on the Seahawks super bowl bullshit. RUN THE BALL WITH BEAST MODE GOD DAMMIT!!! First time I ever bet on anything I did those white pick em cards back in high school. It was $10 and if I got 11 games right I win $1000. Sunday comes and I’m 10-0 on the day and the Lions have a big lead on the Packers!! I’m already counting my winnings. Obviously the Lions lose, I lose and won nothing but a valuable life lesson about both gambling and the lowly Lions.
