Does anyone run a mult-territory, NWA style fed?

I am currently running a fed with three territory/group format. You can also check out cruefan68 legends fed which runs multiple territories with a limited number of touring champions.

I would suggest starting small, like three territories and then expanding out.

I use a spread sheet to track my action.

To set up, I decided the number of shows for each territory and then filled my spread sheet in accordingly. I then decided the champions schedule and filled those in on the spread sheet. I selected the roster and started to roll out the action.

The World Title is defend once each round of of events in each territory on a rotating basis.

Card 1 - Territory A - World Title
Card 2 - Territory B - Tag Titles
Card 3 - Territory C - secondary title
Card 4 - Territory A - Tag Title

Card 5 - Territory B - secondary title 
Card 6 - Territory C - world title

Card 7 - Territory A - secondary title

Card 8 - Territory B - world title

Card 9 - Territory C - tag team titles

If you can keep it simple and consistent, then you can build to the next big title match/rematch.

I strongly considered it. I was going to break the US into four or five territories. Each territory would have had a mens, womens and tag team champ but then their would have been a world version of each.

In the end I operate as if that is in place but more like the premiere soccer league. So you start out in one of five territories and eventually get called up to LAW (Legends of Avalon Wrestling) which is the main federation and only fed that can have the "world" title designation. Maybe someday I'll go back and play out these territories but for right now I'm writing the story of the world titles.

I don’t play LOW too much but my NWA fed is set up similar to this. I’ve got the NWA. My main fed. Then I’ve got World Class, NJPW (Home to our top Japanese wrestlers, Brody, Hansen, etc...). Various wrestlers tour Japan a lot. Then I’ve got the NWA/CWFH which was like training grounds for younger wrestlers. I’ve even got an AWA fed in a stack just for the heck of it. My WWE fed is separate with wrestlers going back and forth via my bootleg contract expiring chart. One day I’ll have to get back to it. I’m totally COTG guy so it’s tough. But it’s always a lot of fun when I do play it.

That contract expiring chart sure sounds fun!

With the amount of offcial and stellar bootlegs out now, it would be real easy to run a multitude of territoies and still have a healthy free agent pool. I just wish I had the time to do somthing like that.

Just to give folks a taste of what a World Champion Touring Model would look like, here's my first few results from when I started my fed in 2014, with Season One. I've copied and pasted the first few weeks, just to help give anyone who is interested a "visual" as to how this looks. Copy at will if you so desire, or play whatever floats your boat! I can say this model works well for me, and I'm working on tweaking it a bit for COTG and LOW play, to allow for longer title reigns (Wrestling's Finest tends to give you longer title reigns with champions).

Season One Results

WEEK ONE: Chicago, Illinois: Nick Bockwinkel (-25) COR Jerry Lawler (-72) in 7:41 (**). Hello wrestling fans, and welcome to a new era in professional wrestling. Many wrestling fans have lamented the passing of the former NWA, an alliance of professional wrestling territories, tied together to recognize one World Heavyweight Champion. Well, lament no longer, as we are proud to present to you the Alliance of American Wrestling, or AAW.

Forming from the independent wrestling organizations all across North and South America, this new Alliance will serve to give form to American wrestling in a new (yet familiar) way. Headquartered in Memphis, TN, the AAW will give wrestling fans a new presentation of wrestling. Not just one monolithic organization, but an alliance of many independently owned territories. Not just the same old matches, time after time, but a variety of matches not seen since the days of the NWA. It is indeed a new day in wrestling.

Our results will center around the AAW World Heavyweight Champion, and his weekly defenses against the top wrestlers of the AAW territories. We should mention that the inaugural AAW World Heavyweight Champion is none other than Jerry Lawler, who won the belt in a hotly contested tournament down in Rio de Janeiro.

Now, without further adieu, we present Season 1, week one, of the AAW World Title Tour!

A lot of heat between these two combatants, right from the opening bell. The referee simply couldn’t get a handle on this match, and the action spilled out of the ring almost immediately. Lawler ended up being dumped on the concrete floor, as Bockwinkel lost whatever cool he had going into this match (probably due to Lawler’s constant baiting). Lawler moves on from this match to take on Dick The Bruiser next week, in the Bruiser’s home territory in Indianapolis, IN! Will Bock get a rematch? Stay tuned!

LAWLER: 1st Defense.


WEEK TWO: Indianapolis, IN. Dick The Bruiser (-51) d. Jerry Lawler (-102) in 12:47 to capture the AAW World Heavyweight Title (**1/4)! Wow, didn’t see that one coming. Bruiser opened a small gash in Lawler’s forehead, and then pasted him with a right hand full of coins to put the King in la-la land. Very short reign for Lawler, most interesting result!

It’ll be on to Detroit for Bruiser, where he will defend his newly won AAW strap against…The Sheik! The question is…will there be a single legal wrestling move in the entire match???


WEEK THREE: Dick the Bruiser (0) DQ The Sheik (-2) in just 1:26 when The Sheik “accidentally” hit the referee (dud). Well, hard to comment on this match, because there just wasn’t much to it. But, I can see a possible rematch at some point between these two…might have to make it No DQ to make it last beyond 2 minutes!

Next up for Bruiser will be a trip to the home territory of the AAW, Memphis, TN, for a showdown with one Bill Dundee!

BRUISER: 1 Title Defense.


WEEK FOUR: Bill Dundee (-154) DQ Dick the Bruiser (-85) in 18:00 (**3/4). Good old fashioned Memphis-style brawl, made all the more crazy by Bruiser being involved. Dundee jumped to an early lead, but Bruiser busted him wide open by smashing him on the ring post. Both men had cuts, but Dundee clearly took the worst of it!

The champ has taken a liking to Memphis-style barbeque as it turns out, and he’s decided to stay in Memphis for another week. Jerry Lawler has been foaming at the mouth to get another crack at Bruiser, after suffering the controversial loss at Bruiser’s hand (and roll of coins!). The AAW is going to grant both men their wish. So, the champ will be able to gorge himself on barbeque, and Lawler will get his rematch! Should be a ring-a-ding-dong-dandy!

Bruiser: 2 Title Defenses.


WEEK FIVE: Jerry Lawler (-31) DQ Dick the Bruiser (-5) in 3:55 (**). Yowsa AAW fans, this is turning into a war! Lawler let his temper get the best of them, and the action spilled out of the ring early, turning into a Pier 6 brawl! The champ is moving on from Memphis, but Lawler has vowed he will chase the Bruiser to the ends of the earth to get his revenge, calling the Bruiser a “thug” in how he “stole” the title from Lawler. This feud is far from over!

Bruiser will next defend his AAW Title against Rip Hawk, who has been tearing things up (literally!) in the Carolina’s. Should be another…ahem…bruising affair!

Bruiser: 3 Title Defenses.


WEEK SIX: Rip Hawk (-98) DQ Dick the Bruiser (-49) in 15:42 (**1/2). Well, so far this championship reign of Bruiser’s is about what wrestling fans would expect out of it….DQ’s aplenty, and brawling tactics galore. The fans seem to be eating it up, however, as Bruiser is quite popular on the AAW circuit. Hawk certainly was no choir boy in this bout, giving as good as he got, until Bruiser just pummeled him the last few minutes, eventually getting DQ’d for his efforts.

Still, despite the DQ’s, no man has been able to put the Bruiser down yet, with Dundee giving him the most trouble. Jerry Lawler continues to call out the Bruiser at every turn though, and is determined to see the AAW gold back around his waist…and get his revenge at the same time! But, for now, Bruiser will head to Richmond, VA to take on the great Bobo Brazil! Can the mighty Brazil take the fight to Bruiser?

Bruiser: 4 Title Defenses.

This is just about how I run it as well. I started out with just one fed for the first 60 or so shows but once we started getting more cards I opted to go into a territory style promotion like the classic NWA. My fed in it's current state has roughly ten territories (CWA, ACW, GAW, PCW, ECW, Lucha MAX, IWA, SHIMMER, Kings Road United and World of Sport) which is a lot to manage but I have been doing it for so long it just seems natural.

I also have offshoot groups like LOW All-Star Wrestling (the enhancement talent work both television and regular shows), Ring Angels (the women's cards I don't use in SHIMMER or other territories go there and that group is actually undergoing a name change. The women there are on the same touring schedule as the All-Star Wrestling crew) and more recently Wrestling Is Fun, an attempt by Mike Quackenbush to revive his brand of wrestling after losing the CHIKARA brand name to Eddie Gilbert (owner of Extreme CHIKARA Wrestling) in storyline.

Sometimes I stare in disbelief at the number of cards we have access to (I'm not complaining though!) because there are plenty I have not even used yet. I feel the toughest part is trying to update rosters as sometimes I get in a comfort zone and leave guys in a territory too long. Most recently I moved Bobo Brazil, One Man Gang, Donovan Dijak and The French Angel to new territories to get fresh starts.

I don't have championships for each territory as my main champions tour the various regions to defend the titles much like the NWA World champion did back in the day, a schedule similar to what bookerbill posted above. I have thought about having territorial champions but have not made a move in that direction yet.

I want to add that I have no problem mixing color and black and white cards, or Indy and Legends cards, in my various territories. While some Indy cards can be overpowered especially if they are set specific I find they don't really dominate because the dice always have a say in the outcome. I jumped in that pool in the deep end and have no regrets.

I have also incorporated bootlegs in the past but have now pulled the plug on it due to having so many official cards. I know there are some names we will probably never get but I'm ok with that as the choices we have are great. I still, however, use bootlegs of enhancement talent made by joebreakdown and Kat Rana because I want more choices in that talent pool (and heck they are fun to use!). One last note is that I do replace all black and white cards once we get a color card for that wrestler.

I have three feds (though my women’s fed doesn’t really cross over with the others), one being LWF (a pretty traditional Legends fed) and Fight Forever Wrestling, a “super-indie” based on the early ROH/CHIKARA sets that interact from time to time. As I get more cards, I plan to expand the “universe”. Right now I keep separate ranking sheets and a master calendar that holds all the shows. I also have a random chart I roll on that sometimes leads to guys jumping from fed to fed.

Sadly no but I've been interested in doing it for years . But that means running even more feds as the ones I have now like LWF , WVW , Anarchy UK , Social Media etc are not related to each other in any ways .
