Hello everyone. Been a longtime card player going back to the original CoTG set and played all the way up until 2113 Sudden Death. Then other life priorities (job, relationships, buying a house, etc) took over and never got back to the game. Finally decided to dust off the box of cards and got so much joy out of re-reading the handbooks and looking at the card art that I decided to get back into things, this time on the digital online side. So I decided to start back from the "beginning"...purchased 2087, and have played out a few matches (got to admit, even digitally I prefer to roll out each match as opposed to using the pbp sim feature!). Let me tell ya...at first it was frustrating and confusing...I couldn't remember all the mechanics, the charts, who rolls when, etc. After much reading and playing, it's all coming back. I'm sure i'll have some more questions about actually running a federation and tracking stats and rankings...but for now I have a basic online gameplay question to ask. When and How does the PIN button work? I know when the character on offense rolls their finisher the opponent rolls 2 dice to see if they are pinned (taking into account the finisher modifiers and fatigue tokens)...but should the engine tell you if the match is over?? Or am I just suppose to 'know' based on my math skills And here's likely a dumb question....say I roll a L3O move, the opponent rolls on L3D and the result is they are down...the character on offense wants to go for a straight pin...how does that work? Does the character on offense have to roll something in order to see if they are "allowed" to go for the pin? Or does the defensive character just hit their PIN button then?
Sorry for the n00b questions...been years since I played!
Looking forward to burning many hours with this. thx!
