Definitely working the Gcon tournaments to make sure there is a Vegas vs. Reno matchup in round 1 of one of the tournaments. This must happen. Btw...I was in Vegas last year 😉 I had the honor of meeting reno at Galacticon in Jamestown 3 years ago. Reno is awesome! At Galacticon, other than last year's LOW tournament where I got to the finals with Jackie Fargo, I usually lose in the first round. I will try to win but if I lose at least it would be to someone awesome such as Reno (although everyone here I have ever lost to in the first round at Galaction- really too many people to name here who have defeated me in the first round lol- are all awesome too.)

It was equally awesome to meet my Nevada-themed brother! I too am a long standing JTTS at Galacticon...so this one has double count out written all over it 😂

I am finishing up my 2nd day in Reno.
Right now it very cheap to go to Reno or Las Vegas because of the low hotel occupancy rates due to COVID-19 which is why I finally decided to go to Reno. The price is right by only having to pay $50/night at the Atlantis Casino (so far the only nicer casino I have seen in Reno is the Peppermill Casino where I had lunch today) and then the Atlantis allows their hotel guests to eat up to $30 worth of food from any of their casino restaurants for free each day. I have eaten 2 free meals so far.
In addition to checking out the Reno casinos (overall really NOT as nice as the Las Vegas casinos,) today I went to the National Automobile Museum. They have almost 200 vehicles from the late 1800s to the late 1900s on display. Each gallery of automobiles was categorized by different decades and while walking in between each gallery there were streets of different stores from each time period playing the different music from each time period. It was definitely worth $12. Today I also did the Truckee River Walk (along where Reno was founded.) It was alright, but not as nice as the San Antonio River Walk.
Tomorrow I am renting a car and going to Virginia City- it used to be the biggest city between Denver and San Francisco during the Gold Rush days and where Mark Twain lived when he wrote for the Nevada newspaper- but now it is a ghost town/museum sort of like Tombstone (which I enjoyed going to back in 2007 so I am going to Virginia City tomorrow.) Virginia City is supposed to be one of the most haunted places in the US today, some of the sites there are currently not open but I do plan to stop at the Bucket of Blood saloon for a beer. If I have time before I have to get to the airport to fly home to Las Vegas, I also plan to go to Carson City (I have never seen the state capitol before.)

I got back to Las Vegas very late last night (last flight out of Reno.)
Yesterday for the first time in 3 years I rented a car (the last time I rented a car was in 2017 when I flew into Buffalo and rented a car to drive to Jamestown for Galacticon.) I drove up the mountains to Virginia City (once the richest city in the US West due to the Comstock Lode and also once the home of Mark Twain) and then I also drove to Carson City, both- along with Reno- were cities I had not seen before.
It was goo to get a chance to go to Northern Nevada for a few days, but I am also glad to be back home in Las Vegas.
