It is official.
I have my airfare and my hotel (staying at the Atlantis) and I make my first-ever trip to Reno next week. I have lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1999, but I have never actually been to Reno yet.
Has anyone here been to Reno?
If so, any recommendations on what to see and do in Reno?

It is just odd. I have lived in this state (Nevada) since 1999 and I have never been to Reno.
Back in 1998/1999 I was applying to graduate schools and the school I was focused on was Temple (at the time great diplomatic history program!) in Philadelphia. Diplomatic History is where I excelled during my undergraduate studies in History enroute to earning my Bachleor's degree in History.
From my graduate school applications, I got multiple responses from Temple (and I also got accepted into graduate school from Washington State University from where I earned my Bachelor's degree- but with no offer of financial assistance so I turned it down) and I assumed I was going to Temple but at the last moment I heard back from UNLV who offered me free graduate tuition and a paid assistant position which paid my bills and more. No regrets in turning down Temple for the better UNLV offer and I earned both my Masters and later my teacher's license from UNLV!
It will be interesting to see Reno for the first time in a few days.

I have some family that lives there. Mercifully, I will not connect you with them. I did do a week long gig at one of the hotels there a decade ago but I’m sure everything is different now so I’m of no help. Closest I’ve been recently is my cabin in Incline Village on Lake Tahoe but I haven’t made the drive over to Reno in a while. Mainly because of the aforementioned family. Have fun Zeke.
