AUGUST: Harley Race b. Barry Windham with a Piledriver to retain the WWA World Heavyweight Title (**1/2). Well, Race-Windham III didn't live up to the expectations WWA fans, and that was fine by Harley Race. Race wanted a statement win, and he got it tonight against Windham, putting his rival away relatively quickly.
On the undercard, in a weird but great feud, Wild Bull Curry b. Tony Atlas yet again by slyly sliding on a set of brass knuckles, and walloping Atlas! So many times, Tony Atlas has been on the verge of defeating Curry, only to have defeat snatched from the jaws of victory by Curry (and most times, underhandedly we might add!). Curry is now in line for a shot at the St. Louis Heavyweight Championship against Rick Martel, and poor Atlas is left scratching his head yet again!
As for our World Champion, next month he will head to Kansas City to face a man he knows all too well, The Crusher. We'll see you there WWA fans!
Race: 4 Title Defenses.

SEPTEMBER: Harley Race DQ The Crusher when the action spilled outside of the ring, and The Crusher went to town on his hated rival, busting Race open against the ring post, and earning the hook from the referee (**3/4). Well, it was a short-lived match, but not without a lot of action, most of it the brawling variety. These 2 just plain don't like one another, and it was evident right from the opening bell, as the 2 went to Fist City! Race lives to wrestle another day, and The Crusher just remains frustrated, although a little satisfied at having drawn blood from Race...
Folks, we've got a little extra time, so we're going to take you to St. Louis, for a St. Louis Title Match! And we have a nnnnnneeeeewwwww St. Louis Heavyweight Champion, as Wild Bull Curry b. Rick Martel with a series of punches to win the St. Louis strap (**1/2). Curry simply overpowered Martel, and put a hurting on him early. He pounded Martel, and put him away with a wild roundhouse right! We've certainly gone 180 degrees in terms of the type of champion holding this belt, so buckle up, it could be a wild ride with Mr. Curry holding it!
Up next for our World Champion is a trip to Charlotte, NC for a scheduled defense against the great Johnny Valentine!
Race: 5 Title Defenses.

Rick Martel loses? Nooooo!!!
Bull Curry is a beast in your promotion.
I'm thinking a steel cage rematch for Race and Crusher is order, maybe in Chicago or Milwaukee? I can hear the "We Want Blood" chants already.

OCTOBER: And ladies and gentlemen, we have a nnnnneeeeewwwww WWA World Heavyweight Champion!
Johnny Valentine b. Harley Race with an Atomic Skullcrusher to win the WWA World Heavyweight Title once again in convincing fashion (**1/2)! Valentine really manhandled Race after some early offense by the former champ, and hit Race with multiple Skullcrushers for the win. Valentine has a solid history himself as WWA World Champ, and we'll see if he continues his winning ways...off to a great start by defeating one of the all-time best in the WWA in Race. All hail the new champ!
On the undercard, in an entertaining singles bout, Stevie Richards b. Steve Regal with the Stevie Kick (*3/4). Richards had Regal seeing stars pretty quickly, after some jawing back and forth between the two!
As for our newly crowned champion, he will head first to St. Louis for a scheduled defense against perhaps his greatest rival in WWA rings, Bobo Brazil.

NOVEMBER: Johnny Valentine b. Bobo Brazil with an Atomic Skullcrusher to successfully defend the WWA World Heavyweight Title in another great contest between these two bitter rivals (****3/4). Whenever these two link up, it never fails to entertain! Valentine was lucky to get out of this one with the gold around his waist, WWA fans, as Brazil gave him all he could handle, and then some!
On the undercard, Abdullah The Butcher COR Jackie Fargo in a wild match (**1/4). Great brawl, but nary a wrestling move in sight! Good heat between these two from the opening bell.
As for our champion, he will defend in St. Louis again next month to close out this season, in a rematch against Harley Race!
Valentine: 1 Title Defense.

DECEMBER: Johnny Valentine b. Harley Race with an Atomic Skullcrusher to retain the WWA World Heavyweight Championship (***). Good bout, with our champion really controlling the last part of the contest. Valentine looked in tip-top shape in this one WWA fans, as he survived an early onslaught by Race to solidly defeat the former champion.
Action-packed undercard for WWA fans this evening!
In the Semi-Main Event, Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens battled to a time limit DRAW with the team of Dick the Bruiser & the Crusher, retaining the WWA World Tag-Team Championships (***3/4). Great, fun brawl, with all 4 men going to Fist City early and often! Fans would've loved to have seen Bruiser and Crusher emerge victorious, but it wasn't for lack of effort, as they gave all they had, and then some! Bockwinkel & Stevens just refused to go down!
And, 3rd from the top, in a St. Louis Heavyweight Championship bout, Tony Atlas DQ champion Wild Bull Curry, allowing Curry to retain the title, but be a little worse for the wear afterwards (**1/2). This is a really hot feud, with Atlas still not able to win with a clean victory over Curry, who always manages to deny his rival that defining feud-ending win. The battle rages on...
This concludes Season 17 WWA fans! We'll see you right back here for Season 18, and kicking us off, live from St. Louis, will be Johnny Valentine vs. Buddy Rogers for the WWA World Heavyweight Title in January!
Valentine: 2 Title Defenses. Bock & Stevens: 5 Title Defenses. Curry: 1 Title Defense.
