Card #3 January 8, 2000 Los Angeles, California
LWA World Tag Team Title Tournament
-First Round- The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) (w/Paul Ellering) defeated The New Age Outlaws (Jesse James & Billy Gunn) by Disqualification in 11:08. -The opening chords of "Iron Man" brought the crowd to their feet as the LWA World Tag Team tournament was underway. The Warriors dominated much of the action. The bout went to the floor and a brawl broke out. James was looking for an extra advantage with a steel chair. The ref caught the infraction and called for the bell. The Warriors fought back and sent the N.A.O. running towards the back.
Demolition (Ax & Smash) defeated Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff when Smash pinned Volkoff with the Decapitator in 6:25. -Ax and Smash used brawling and double teams to gain the upper hand. Volkoff was whipped into the turnbuckle and hit with a double clothesline and then the dreaded Decapitator to set up a very interesting match in the next round.
The Midnight Express (Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton) (w/Jim Cornette) beat Kerry & Kevin Von Erich when Eaton rolled up Kerry with a tights pull in 12:28. -The Von Erich were on fire early overpowering the smaller duo. A Discus Punch by Kerry on Lane almost ended things quickly until Cornette distracted the referee. Later the Von Erichs hit a huge double atomic drop on Eaton and once again Kerry landed a Discus Punch. This time Cornette jumped on the apron and Kerry ran over and grabbed the wily manager by his jacket. This gave Eaton some time to recover and he rolled up the Texan from behind and with a pull of the tights escaped with a victory.
Terry & Dory Funk Jr. and Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard was ruled a No-Contest in 13:51 when Abdullah the Butcher hit the ring. -This was a match that the Funks seemingly had in hand. A pin reversal got a 2 3/4 count on Blanchard and victory seemed assured. Then from out of the crowd emerged Abdullah the Butcher. He attacked anyone that moved in the ring with his trademark fork. The ref had to throw the match out and both team unfortunately were unable to advance.
Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody defeated Jack & Jerry Brisco when Hansen pinned Jack with the Lariat in 5:35. -A total squash for Brody and Hansen. They controlled the action with brutal efficiency. Hansen hit the Lariat twice for good measure before going for the cover. Jerry attempted a pin save but was cut off by Brody who threw him over the top rope.
Rick & Scott Steiner defeated The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) when Rick pinned Miller with Steiner Dog in 10:56. -The brawling and dirty tactics of the Sheeps kept them in the match for a while. But the brothers were simply too powerful and skilled in double team moves. Scott used a Frankensteiner on Williams and tossed him aside. Then he scooped up Miller and made the tag to his brother who flew off the top into a Bulldog.
The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) defeated The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Buddy Roberts) (w/Terry Gordy) when Fulton pinned Roberts with a Cross Body Block in 8:12. -Gordy interfered after a Fantastic Cradle almost ended the match early on Hayes. The Birds couldn't gain much momentum though. Fulton hit a knee lift and then flew off the ropes and hit Roberts with a Cross Body to score the pin.
The Rock N' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defeated American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) when Morton pined Edwards with a Cross Body Block in 9:45. -The Wolves were off to a quick start and isolated Gibson. Gibson was able to get out of the corner and make a hot tag to his partner. He came in fists flying and sent Richards to the floor. He reversed a whip to the ropes by Edwards and hit a high Cross Body and surprised him for the three count.

Card #4 January 9, 2000 Los Angeles, California
LWA World Tag Team Title Tournament
-Quarterfinals- Demolition (Ax & Smash) beat The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) (w/Paul Ellering) by Disqualification in 9:22. -For many this was dream match that came way too early. The two teams slugged it out with the Demos getting the best of things early on. A Decapitator on Animal only yielded a two count and the big man went into a rage and tagged his partner. Hawk went on a tear and the Roadies double teamed Smash and hit the Doomsday Device. The end looked certain but Ax made the save. All four men were battling in the ring and the ref tried to restore order. Animal went for a clothesline on Ax but hit the official instead. Still groggy he called for the bell and the gave the match to Demolition.
The Midnight Express received a Bye and move into the next round due to the No-Contest decision in the match between The Funks and Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson.
Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen defeated Rick & Scott Steiner when Brody pinned Rick with Jumping Knee Drop in 1:25. -This match was a total squash. Brody hit a clothesline off the ropes on the Dog faced Gremlin. A one handed body slam and then a Jumping knee. Hansen cut off Scott with a huge Lariat and just like that the match was over. The crowd was in a state of shock.
The Rock N' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defeated The Fantastics (Tommy Rogers & Bobby Fulton) when Morton pinned Fulton with the Double Dropkick in 11:09. -A battle of two of the most popular tag teams of the 80s. A clean match all the way. Both teams exchanged double teams and gained control in spots. The end saw all four in the ring and the Rock n Rolls hitting the Double Dropkick to secure the win. Both teams shook hands as a sign of respect when it was over.
-LWA World Heavyweight Contenders Round Robin- Mil Mascaras defeated "Macho Man" Randy Savage with the Flying Bodypress in 8:55. -This round robin is to determine who gets the first shot at the LWA World championship. Mascaras outsmarted the overaggressive Savage in this one. He hit a violent tope that damaged both men but Mascaras was able to roll Macho back in and land his flying body press from the top o perfection for the fall.
-Semi-Finals- Demolition (Ax & Smash) beat The Midnight Express (Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton)(w/Jim Cornette) by Disqualification in 14:21. -The Express used their agility to keep the match in their favor as well as Cornette's racket. The ref caught Cornette however and gave the match to Demolition.
The Rock N' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defeated Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen when Morton pinned Brody with Cross Body Block in 8:25. -The popular rockers gain a spot in the final upending Brody and Hansen. The end saw Morton hit a Cross Body from the top rope to gain the victory.
-LWA World Heavyweight Contenders Round Robin- Mil Mascaras pinned Harley Race with the Flying Bodypress in 8:11. -The Mexican legend controlled the match and avenged an earlier loss to Race in the World title tournament. He will earn the first shot at Buddy Rogers to be determined at a later date.
-Finals- Demolition (Ax & Smash) defeated The Rock N' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) when Smash pinned Gibson with a Shoulder Breaker in 12:45 to win the titles. -The match was incredibly one-sided as the Demos hit high impact moves and kept a fresh man in the ring. Morton and Gibson did have some hope as they hit the Double dropkick but only got a two count. Smash reversed a whip to the buckle and when Gibson came out he caught him and dropped him on his shoulder for the pin.

Card #5 January 10, 2000 Boston, Massachusetts
Capitol Championship Wrestling
The Grappler defeated Jerry Lynn with a shoulder breaker in 10:45. - A back and forth contest to open things up here in CCW. Grappler caught Lynn off the ropes into a Stun Gun. He then hoisted him up and crashed down isolating the shoulder and gained the three count. The masked man wasn't finished there though. He continued his assault and began to stomp away. He started to load up his boot as the ref attempted to hold him back. Luckily for Lynn, the deranged Al Snow with his good friend "Head" hit the scene. Snow swung "Head" into the Grappler knocking him from the ring. Snow then proceeded to do a lap around the ringside while medical personnel checked on Lynn.
Larry Zbyszko & "Crippler" Ray Stevens (w/Bobby Heenan) beat The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) when Stevens pinned Fulton with the Bombs Away in 11:09. -Zbyszko hit a Piledriver on Fulton but Rogers was able to make the save. The ref led Rogers back to his corner but at this point Ray Stevens went to the top turnbuckle and flew off with his patented finisher. This time Rogers was too late as the ref counted three.
Interview (Pat Patterson is with Randy Savage) PP: Ladies and gentlemen, the "Macho Man" Randy Savage! You recently competed in the LWA World Heavyweight Title tournament and did quite well for yourself even though you were unable to win the belt. But there is no doubt in my mind that you are still one of the top contenders for that title currently held by "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers.
RS: Oh Yeahhhhh! No doubt about it. No doubt at all. Everyone better pay close attention to the Macho Man - yeah. Buddy Rogers better have eyes in the back of his head cause I'm gunning for him big time. Big time. And let's not forget that Capitol wrestling has it's own belt and I just might that take that to if I want to.
("Exotic" Adrian Street with his valet Miss Linda interrupt the interview.) AS: Ugh. My word you do murder the English language. But I must say Macho Man that I feel that I need to test your skills in the ring. One on one. So what do you say about my little challenge. Next week?
RS: Excuse me. But I don't wrestle ladies.
AS: (smirks) Oh please dear boy I'll show you just how much of man I am in that ring. Shake on it will you.
(Street quickly rushed Savage and is caught with a right hand between the eyes that sends his staggering back.)
RS: Next week - you and me go toe to toe jack. Dig it!
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beat The Missing Link (w/The Grand Wizard) by Disqualification after repeated Wild Chair shots in 7:44. -The Link was out of control and used a steel chair repeatedly until the ref had seen enough and called for the bell. Duggan was able to retrieve his 2' by 4' to even the score and drive the Link out of the ring.
"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka beat Greg "The Hammer" Valentine by Disqualification in 8:34. -Valentine threw Snuka to the floor. He whipped him into the guardrails and started pounding away. The ref tried to intervene but was pushed aside so he called for the bell. Valentine continued his assault and set Snuka up by the turnpost. He charged by the Superfly barely dodged him. Security was out to restore order as both men still wanted to keep the fight going.
Interview (Pat Patterson is with Don Leo Jonathan and Bobby Heenan) PS: Ladies and gentlemen I've been asked to interview Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and the "Mormon Giant" Don Leo Jonathan.
BH: Patterson it's your pleasure and I've got plenty to the tell the humanoids out there. The Heenan Family has already shown that we are ready to be the dominant force in Capitol Championship Wrestling. And there is none more dominant than this man - six feet nine inches tall, over three hundred and twenty pounds - Don Leo Jonathan.
PP: I understand that next week he will appear in action and he'll have a stiff test in "Polish Power" Ivan Putski.
BH: Padooski?! He'll be lucky if he can find his way to the ring. He may be strong but it's upstairs where he's lacking and we'll be sure to prove it in Philadelphia one week from now.
The Skyscrapers (Danny Spivey & Sid Vicious) (w/Matt Striker) defeated The Killer Bees (Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) when Spivey pinned Brunzell with a Power Bomb in 2:15. -Blair made a quick tag to Brunzell who hit Spivey with a dropkick that staggered him. He went to the top rope and flew off with a cross body but Spivey just brushed him aside. The big man then drove Brunzell to the mat with a Power Bomb and that was it.
-Main Event- "Russian Lion" George Hackenschmidt defeated Bruno Sammartino with the Russian Bearhug in 8:09. -An upset by most standards but it was not without controversy. Larry Zbyszko came out to ringside during the match and distracted his former mentor. Hackenschmidt used the opportunity to hit a low blow and then clamp down with his Bearhug in the center of the ring. Sammartino passed out from the pain and the ref rang the bell. Zbyszko then slid into the ring and insulted Sammartino and started slapping him. Bruno started to rise from the mat and he took a weak swing at him. Zbyszko called to the back and his partner Ray Stevens came out and the two began to stomp and kick away at him. Luckily Chief Jay Strongbow made the save and the drove to the two out of the ring.
Fed Notes: -Lost of excitement in this first card for Capitol Championship Wrestling. The Grappler with a tainted victory over Jerry Lynn. The former ECW champion was in trouble but was saved by two "friends" in the bizarre Al Snow and his "partner". -Bobby Heenan's Family were victorious in tag team competition as "Crippler" Stevens and Larry Zbyszko gained a win over The Fantastics. Heenan's Giant Don Leo Jonathan is set for action next week against the extremely popular "Polish Power" next week. -Randy Savage's interview was rudely interrupted by the colorful "Exotic" Adrian Street. The two with match skills on next week's card. -The patriotic Jim Duggan was able to outlast The Missing Link and matched objects with the one of the Grand Wizard's wildmen. -Matt Striker presents the odds on favorites to become the first CCW tag team champions in The Skyscrapers. They made short work of the vet tandem of the Killer Bees. -In the Main Event Bruno Sammartino was defeated by the arrogant George Hackenschmidt. The popular Italian will have scores to settle with Larry Zbyszko who provided the distraction and he'll want a rematch with the Russian Lion to seek revenge.

Card #6 January 13, 2000 Charlotte, North Carolina
Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling
Fit Finlay (w/J.J. Dillon) defeated Mike Graham with the Celtic Cross in 8:14. -Graham proved to be a tough out in this one and stayed step for step with the vet Finlay. Graham missed a dropkick and Finlay hit the Rolling Hills and then the Cross for the three count.
"Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers pinned "Hustler" Rip Rogers (w/Jim Cornette) in 6:25 when Smothers used the Tennis Racket. -Smothers was too quick for the Hustler. The match could have ended sooner but the ref was uncharacteristically out of position on numerous pin attempts for the Tennessee native. Smothers went to the top rope and Cornette jumped on the apron to distract the ref who almost immediately turned to face the wily manager. Smothers tried to talk to the ref and Cornette threw Rip his trademark Tennis Racket. It was intercepted by Smothers who whacked Rogers across the skull with it. The ref turned and made a very slow three count. After the match Cornette chased the officials back to the locker and seemed to be demanding money back.
The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) defeated "Dirty" Dutch Mantell & Black Bart when Acid pinned Bart with a Yakuza Kick in 11:08. -Good tag match that saw all four men battle in the ring. The finish saw Mantel miss a clothesline on Kashmere that sent him out of the ring and Bart getting clocked with a stiff kick to the head for the pinfall.
Interview: (Tony Schiavone is with Chris Jericho) TS: Ladies and gentlemen next week we will have an eight man invitational Battle Royal to determine the first Mid-Atlantic champion. One of the competitors will be this man - Chris Jericho.
CJ: Nice suit Tony. Really nice. It's good to see your mom still shops for you. Listen up Jericho-holics. I'm sure that everyone knows that it's a forgone conclusion that Y2J will become the new champion. It won't take long. However I do want to get a chance to get may hands on that huge wimp - Diamond Dallas Page. He's as phony as a three dollar bill. He tries to play up to these people like he actually cares but I know better.
(DDP comes out to interrupt) DDP: Wait a minute. You keep my name out of your mouth, you understand.
(Jericho hides behind Schiavone)
CJ: You're lucky he's holding me back. DDP: Next week do your talking in the ring punk. I'll see you later.
"Superstar" Bill Dundee defeated Kevin Sullivan with the Superstar Bomb in 5:15. -Sullivan charged into the turnbuckle and caught a face full of of the padding. Dundee came off the top with his Bombs Away and caught the pin much to the delight of the crowd.
The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) (w/Jim Cornette) defeated New Age Outlaws (Jesse James & Billy Gunn) when Eaton pinne James with a Double Goozle in 13:07. -Cornette provided the distraction and the MX used one of their man double team maneuvers to get the three.
-LWA World Heavyweight Title Match- Mil Mascaras defeated "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers with the Cross Body Attack in 12:45 to win the title. -A shocking turn of events as Mascaras captures the belt in Rogers' first title defense. He was unstoppable much of the match and rode a wave of momentum to defeat the cocky Rogers to take the title.
Fed Notes: -A shocker as Mil Mascaras wins the LWA World Title in Buddy Rogers' first defense. Rogers was furious in the locker room and demand to invoke his re-match clause. -Did Jim Cornette attempt to bride an official? It certainly seemed that way. Little good it did him as Tracy Smothers foiled use of the Tennis Racket to gain a win over Rip Rogers. -The popular Backseat Boyz got their first win over the veteran team of Dutch Mantell and Black Bart. No doubt they are looking for tag team gold in the future.

I've always wanted to try a multi-promotion project and now I see why it always fails for me. I just don't have the time.
Guess I'll punt again.
This time I'll start small. Pick 12 wrestlers to start and slowly go from there.
