ECW Hardcore TV comes on the air with a shot of the host - Joey Styles standing in the center of the ring in Cookeville, Tennessee. He is wearing a white suit with a red pocket square. He has a microphone in hand and is looking around the arena as the fans in attendance are chanting “ECW! ECW! ECW!” The camera zooms in on him and he smiles and then begins to speak.
Joey Styles: Welcome everyone to ECW Hardcore TV! I’m Joey Styles and tonight here in Cookeville, Tennessee we are going to crown the very first ECW Television champion. Tonight, we will see three tournament matches - two semi final matches and the finals! Who will walk out here with the gold around their waist? We will find out! Now then…
The shot then goes to the entrance way where we see 2 Cold Scorpio, the ECW World Heavyweight champion come from the backstage area with a microphone - interrupting Joey Styles.
2 Cold Scorpio: Hold on just a second, I want everyone to shut up and pay attention because your ECW World champion has something to say.
Scorpio pauses for a moment and then looks around the arena as the fans begin to chant “Shut up Asshole! Shut up Asshole!”
2 Cold Scorpio: I am not going to shut up. The longer you chant for me to shut up, the longer I am out here. Now, in just a month we are going to have our first pay per view since coming back. It will be called Extreme Heat and it takes place next month. Now, I don’t know my opponent but I do know this - I will be defending my championship in the main event - because I am the backbone of this company.
2 Cold Scorpio is now half way down the aisle. We then hear the ECW theme hit the arena and the fans go nuts. 2 Cold Scorpio turns around and we see Paul Heyman, the owner of Extreme Championship Wrestling come out with a microphone in hand. He waits for the cheers to die down and then begins to speak.
Paul Heyman: 2 Cold, you want to know who your opponent is for Extreme Heat? Well I don’t know who it will be. I do know that there will be a six person gauntlet to determine the number one contender earlier in the night and then winner will face you in the main event. There is only one condition - to get into the gauntlet, you have to win a qualifying match. Those matches will start soon and I suggest to you Mr. Scorpio - is to get ready!
The shot then goes to the opening video package.
Once we see the opening video we go straight to the ring for our first match of the night.
Match # 01 - C.W. Anderson -versus- “Retrosexual” Anthony Greene in an ECW Television Championship Tournament Semi Final MatchMatch Notes - In a great back and forth match with a lot of action that had the fans into the bout the whole time, Anthony Greene was able to put away C.W. Anderson with So Much Prettier. Anthony Greene now advances to the Finals of the ECW Television Championship Tournament
The shot then goes to Joey Styles who is now standing in front of an ECW backdrop. He sees that the camera is on him and then begins to speak.
Joey Styles: Later tonight we will see an opening round tag team championship tournament match when we see The Unholy Alliance taking on Danny Doring and Roadkill. Both teams have pre-recorded comments. Let’s go to that.
We see Danny Doring in his pink and black gear standing on the left of Elektra. On the other side of her is Roadkill who is wearing a white dress shirt and black suspenders and pants. Doring then begins to speak.
Danny Doring: Al Snow, Mikey Whipwreck, tonight we fight for a chance at the ECW World Tag Team championship. We are going to beat you guys from pillar to post and if your scrawny little manager Sinister Minister interferes, well, we are going to take him out too.
Elektra begins to speak.
Elektra: Sinister Minister, you get into my men’s business tonight and I will rip your balls off.
Roadkill: CHICKENS!
The shot then goes Sinister Minister, Al Snow and Mikey Whipwreck sitting in a locker room on a bench.
Sinister Minister: Elektra, you sure have bigger balls than my men. You think your team is going to beat the Unholy Alliance? You’ve got another thing coming. Al Snow and Mikey are going to kill Doring and Roadkill and there is nothing that you can do about it.
The three then laugh like mad men as the show then goes to a commercial break.
Back from the commercial break we go to our next match in the ECW Television championship Tournament.
Match # 02 - ECW Television Championship Tournament Semi Final Match - Sabu -versus- Jerry Lynn
Match Notes - In another great match, Sabu was able to put away Jerry Lynn with a Camel Clutch. The fans really enjoyed the match and there was a ton of heat for the bout. Jerry Lynn had no choice but to submit to the painful Camel Clutch.
The shot then goes to a video with The Big Valbowski. He is sitting in a Red Lamborghini and beside him is a beautiful blonde woman. He smiles and then begins to speak.
Val Venis: Next month wrestling fans, you’re going to see me at Extreme Heat. I can’t wait to come… to ECW!
The show then goes to a commercial break.
Back from the commercial break we go straight to the ring for our next match on the show.
Match # 03 - ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament First Round Match - The Unholy Alliance -versus- Doring and RoadkillMatch Notes - It was a good match that saw some great action from both teams. The finish saw Doring being distracted by Sinister Minister up on the apron. Mikey Whipwreck had possession of Sinister Minister’s cane and nailed him in the back of the head with it. Doring fell to the mat and Whipwreck was able to get the pin to advance to the next round of the ECW Tag Team championship tournament.
The shot then went backstage where we saw “The Queen of Extreme” Francine with Justin Credible. Francine is wearing a red dress and is holding Credible’s Singapore cane. Justin Credible is wearing a black tee shirt that says “I hate this town!” and is also wearing his signature blue jeans shorts. He sees the camera and then begins to speak.
Justin Credible: Extreme Heat, in just over a month, I will finally get my chance to become the ECW World Heavyweight champion. I am going to qualify for the gauntlet match and I am going to win it and face 2 Cold Scorpio in the main event… and then, I will get… haha, well you know.
The shot then goes to Rob Van Dam who is with his manager - Bill Alphonso.
Rob Van Dam: Justin Credible thinks that he is going to walk out the ECW World Heavyweight champion at Extreme Heat? Well he has another thing coming and that is that I am the only one who will walk out the pay per view with the strap.
Bill Alphonso: That’s right daddy-o! My man, “The Whole F’n Show!” will become the ECW World champion and there is nothing - nothing that can be done about it!
Bill Alphonso then blows his whistle as the shot then goes to Joey Styles who is standing in front of an ECW backdrop.
Joey Styles: Well, next week we are going to see the final three matches in the ECW World Tag Team championship tournament. Who will become the first ECW World tag team champions? We will find out in a couple of weeks. Now, we are going to go back to the ring for our main event. It’s for the ECW Television championship. It’s Sabu versus Anthony Greene and it starts now!
The shot then goes to ring for the main event of the program.
Match # 04 - ECW Television Championship Match - “Retrosexual” Anthony Greene -versus- SabuMatch Notes - The match started off in the ring with some technical moves but then the match ended up on the floor where the two men fought. Sabu gave him a hot shot on the guard rail and then tossed him back in the ring. Sabu then got up on the apron, ascended the ropes and came off the top with a big leg drop. He got a two count. Anthony Greene then fired back and hit a Shaker Heights Spike for the win and the ECW Television championship. Greene was then awarded the championship. He celebrated his victory for a moment and then went to the backstage area.
PROMO TIME!We see “The Franchise” Shane Douglas walking in the underground parking lot of the arena. He sees the camera following him and stops. He then begins to speak.
“Franchise” Shane Douglas: Extreme Heat, in about a month’s time - I am going to become the next ECW World champion. I don’t care who I have to go through, I am going to walk out the champion and if you don’t like that… well that is too damn bad!
The shot then goes to The Pitbulls, who are wearing black leather jackets and blue jeans, walking down an alleyway.
Pitbull # 1: Next week we are going to see more matches in the ECW Tag Team championship tournament. There is one thing that I can promise you and that is that we are going to be the ECW Tag Team champions!
Pitbull # 2: It doesn’t matter who we face, they are all going to fall. We are the future of this company and we will be Tag Team champions for a really long time.
The shot then goes to Dawn Marie and Petey Williams who are seen walking down the back aisle of the arena.
Petey Williams: Anthony Greene, congratulations on your title win here tonight. Just know that I am coming for you and that belt.
Dawn Marie: That’s right, Petey is going to beat you for that belt when he gets the chance, so be ready!
The show then goes back to Joey Styles.
Joey Styles: Well, that’s it for this edition of ECW Hardcore TV, be sure to tune in next week where we see more matches in the Tag Team tournament. Have a good night!
