Also could be Ricky Steamboat, with the silly dragon wings.... Ok, it just hit me... I now have an official guess. I will guess that the signing is Terry Funk, and the gimmick that we can't (and wouldn't want to) use is Chainsaw Charlie. I'm guessing this, because it would make me so happy to get Terry Funk and Jack Brisco the same year.  Although I know he said no many years ago, I wonder if Rick Martel is now a possibility and we just can't use him as The Model like he was in the WWE? |

(I much prefer AWA champ Martel, myself) |

I didn't actually see your comment in the chat, so we must have been on the same wavelength. I thought Rick Martel was a great heel, but the Model gimmick was too over the top (as was everything in that era). I do realize that is how some may have first seen him, so there would be value to that gimmick, or at least a heel Rick Martel. But I would push for a 1984/1985 AWA World Champion Rick Martel. I believe I mentioned that he was supposed to attend the CAC in 2017 or 2018 but couldn't make it, which crushed me. That should indicate I've never spoken to Rick Martel. |

If you're with Chad having pizza or beer, keep an eye on them.  I am very excited for the Briscos. I have wanted Jack for years, being a former NWA champion. But having met Gerry at the HOF in Waterloo and having seen more matches of his in the last year or so, he was very talented. Both guys were great in singles and as a team. We've got a few other names that are signed that we didn't announce this weekend that I am really looking forward to in 2020/'21. There are some great things coming for Legends! |

(I much prefer AWA champ Martel, myself) Fair enough, I missed the LOW Q and A so I did not know that Martel had basically been mentioned as not signed. Yeah, my thought process for guessing Martel though was not The Model gimmick was a disaster (I agree that it was not) but that a card based on him in the 1980s before he got to the WWF would have been the preferred version. |
