Hey Guys, Recently my best friend Tom (as in Tough Tom) passed. I told him for years I wanted to try to start playing the Indie series but I never ended up doing so. On my birthday (the 11th) we couldn't hang out and he couldn't come over because he was playing with you guys. I got a rundown of every match he played with you guys and discussed how all he needed was some kind of alcohol to add to his experience. I followed Tom's card promotion like I would any real life promotion and had so much fun giving him input and also helping him find random cards on eBay. This game and community brought my friend so much joy and I miss him dearly and feel like I should finally take the dive and start.... Which is why I'm here. I see a ton of sets, starters, expansions, accessories, and it's a bit overwhelming. Where do you guys suggest I start? What all do I need? Hey Doomsday. I'm so sorry about Tom. He really jumped into all the indie stuff the past year and was an awesome guy to talk to. I'm glad we got to meet virtually on zoom for the convention, but wish we got to hang out in person in Chicago like we planned to. We were both big fans of the Major Wrestling Figure podcast and would talk about that often. So glad he got to see the Matt Cardona and Brian Myers card art, even if he didn't get the physical ones. As a his best friend I would love to send you a copy of them, and I hope you will book them in a match in his honor. I'll DM you my contact info and we can work out what you can get to get you started.

Evolve has a ton of great talent in there too! Troy is right though, find whom you really like and go from there! 👍 Good luck

Doomzday, Much like a wrestling locker room is, This board is one big family. We support, follow, toss ideas off each other and most importantly, lift up someone who maybe going thru a rough spot. It sucks about Tough Tom's passing but I believe that he will live on through you and the cards that you roll in his honor.

Keeping a lost friend alive through a fed on these boards might just be the best reason to start a new fed that I've heard in a long time.
I think we all lost a little bit when Tough Tom passed, but I'm still sorry for you losing someone so close.
Let's all remember to tell those who mean a lot to us how we feel while we still can.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Tough Tom. I know from some of his posts that he was a big fan of Danhausen, so be sure to get Best Of Indies 2020 featuring Danhausen & his partners Warhorse & Effy. Again, sorry for your loss, Doomzday.

Let's all remember to tell those who mean a lot to us how we feel while we still can. I cannot stress this enough. During my birthday party he was unable to attend, I felt incredibly compelled to tell him how much I appreciated his friendship and knowing he'd be there whenever I needed to talk to him. I told him that I loved him and thanked him for being my friend. I've lost a number of close personal friends in wrestling, but not once did they die knowing how I felt personally about them. You have no idea how much more closure I feel from that one brief gesture.
