Card #11
June 9, 1990
Baltimore, Maryland
1) David Taylor Esq. beat Super Crazy with a European Uppercut in 10:45.
-Solid opener that saw Crazy hit a ridiculous Triple Moonsault on the Brit. Luckily for Taylor he was close enough to the ropes to throw a foot on the bottom one to force a break. Crazy went for a Flying Crossbody and Taylor hit a desperation uppercut that knocked him semi-conscious for the win.
2) Dan "The Beast" Severn (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated The Crusher with a Heel hook in 6:32.
-A surprisingly one sided bout as Crusher couldn't get his brawling tactics to gain any advantage. Severn outwrestled his foe and forced a tap out.
3) The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy) (w/ Buddy Roberts) fought The Eliminators (Perry Saturn & John Kronus) to a Double-Disqualification in 8:09.
-Freebirds were absolutely more aggressive than in past matches and Saturn and Kronus matched their intensity. The match spilled out on the floor and the ref could not contain the action and called for the bell. Roberts joined in to make it a 3 on 2 and swayed the momentum post-match. Kronus was tossed into the ringpost while Gordy delivered a Power Bomb to Saturn on the concrete. PW USA officials were out to break things up and to admonish the Birds.
Bill Apter's HOT SEAT (w/ Ivan Koloff & Eddie Gilbert)
BA: Hello fans I hope that you are enjoying the action so far. At this time I'd like to introduce the Pro Wrestling USA Heavyweight champion, "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff and his manager Eddie Gilbert.
EG: Apter I realize that people aren't a witness to greatness very often but Hot Stuff International is a prime example of the best around. I have the heavyweight champion under contract and his nephew is the most powerful wrestler not only in this company but in the world. So ask any question you like.
BA: Well, coming up the Super Summer Sizzler will be held on June 22nd in Pittsburgh. Who will Ivan Koloff defend his belt against?
IK: It makes no difference who the opponent is Bill Apter. Koloff always comes out on top.
(Jim Cornette is out with Dan Severn)
JC: Sorry gentlemen but I believe I heard that it doesn't matter who the opponent is. If that's the case I'd like to formally challenge for the title on behalf of one of the most decorated grapplers in the world in Dan "The Beast" Severn.
EG: Well Jimmy there's a lot of paperwork that needs to be filed and I don't think that it'll be ready in such a short time. Plus I really want to just save Severn the embarrassment.
JC: Oh really? Put up or shut up. I plan to represent all the gold in this crummy company. That is unless your man has a yellow streak down his back.
IK: How dare you filthy American. Koloff is no coward.
(Koloff lunges towards Cornette and Severn steps in. A staredown ensues as PW USA security comes out to prevent further incident)
4) Nikita Koloff (w/ Eddie Gilbert) defeated The Patriot with a Russian Bearhug in 12:51.
- Koloff showed off his superior power after Gilbert shook the ropes as the masked men went to the top rope. Koloff then whipped him off the ropes and hoisted him up and both arms went limp.
-#1 Tag Contenders Match- -Main Event-
5) Lex Luger & Sting defeated The Body Shop (Paul Orndorff & Jesse Ventura) when Orndorff submitted to Luger's Torture Rack in 13:24.
-Sting and Luger isolated Orndorff for much of the match and used several high impact moves. Sting had the Scorpion Death lock applied but Ventura was able to make the pin save. All four men now in the ring and Luger scooped up Mr. Wonderful on his back and locked in the Torture Rack for the win and the tag team title match at Super Summer Sizzler.
