So what is happening where you live with fall high school sports? A lot of places they are on schedule, some delayed, plenty have alredy canceled. I'm in PA and everything is set to start on time but of course anything can happen to make that change. I'm a sports writer and really want to have games to cover but I just don't think it's going to happen. The PIAA said no fans allowed which has the entire state pissed off.

Here in Nevada where we are starting the year online, Fall Semester High School Sports have been pushed to Spring Semester. But it sounds like there will only be High School Sports (both Fall and Spring) in the Spring Semester if students actually return to classes here in January to start Spring Semester (and I would not be surprised if we are just online the entire school year.)

PA Gov. Wolf said at the end of his press conference today they recommend no h.s. sports until Jan. 1. Now the PIAA has to respond everyone thinks they will do whatever he says so if that happens no h.s sports this year.

As of now, all is starting on time in Michigan. However, I'm fairly certain some sports will experience delays (football). I coach tennis in the fall and am reasonably confident our season will be ok. Limits of 100 spectators for all sports right now.

I'm in South Texas, so I assume school will open solely for Football.
TBH, they "haven't decided" yet, but yeah... I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if they treated "muh football" the same as "muh economy" down here.

Well tennis doesn't seem to be too risky nor would golf, but football just has so many people close together for such a long time.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association did say they were dedicated to having all 3 sports seasons completed, even if it meant some modifications and delays. Hopefully things will work out.

I think the smart thing is for schools that are opening up to see how things go. If there is no COVID outbreak, low chance in my eyes, then proceed slowly with sports. I just know a few districts across the country have opened and already seeing positive cases. I LOVE sports but a missed year would not be the end of the world. It would suck especially for the kids and more so seniors but it is not something to die for.

PA Gov. Wolf ended a press conference by recommending there be no sports until Jan. 1. The PIAA responds today by asking to talk more with him and the General Assembly. So another two weeks of waiting for a decision. Most people were sure the PIAA would do whatever he said but they are waiting. I do think eventually sports will be canceled.

I am loving this video of a MC Hammer parody by a high school principal Dr. Lee singing "Can't touch this!" I was thinking of doing a similar video for my incoming online students this year, but I think as a Scottish-American without alot of rhythm that it would probably be a bad idea: "Can't touch this! Every time you see me Dr. Lee is sanitized. I'm gonna keep with hand cleaning because the cases are on the rise. Now why I would I ever stop doing this? Why they getting ill, I don't wanna be sick Can't touch this! I have been to all the classrooms from upstairs to the gym. It's Lee, Go Lee, Dr. Lee, Yo Doc! Stop! Sanitize!"
