The first playoff game a couple weeks ago, I benched Mahomes for Burrow and Mahomes outscored him by 18. I still won. Last week for the second round match, I benched Burrow for Mahomes and Burrow outscored him by 18 and I still won. So I'm in the title game and have no idea what I'm doing. So, there's that!

Sometimes lucky is better than skilled. I just think of the week when I sat 3 guys that combined for 60+ more points than the ones I played. If I had played them, I would have won and been in the Championship this week. Oh well. Even with all the aggravation it is fun to play. Good luck and bring that title home.

I don't make New Year's Resolutions, but I am going to make a FF one. Next year I will not make knee jerk reactions. I had picked up Rashaad Penny of waivers after his first big game. I played him that week and he did not even get 10 points. So I cut him loose. He has gone off every week since including this week. Luckly, I did not need him as I am going to win the Consolation tourney and finish 5th. A couple funny things. One is I would have beat both teams in the championship game. So based on that and last week if I had made the playoffs I would have finished with the trophy. Second is that the guy that finished 2nd in regular season and is playing the team that finished 1st in regular season will win thanks to picking up Penny after I cut him. It looked like he would lose early but the huge game from Penny should earn him 3rd place.
So, which of you lucky bastards won your league(s)?

I won my big league DESPITE benching Chase and Penny while playing Higgins & Lamb. I was sick all day watching the Chase highlights, but fortunately I wasn’t forced to pay for such a horrendous mistake. I had the highest scoring team 2 of the 3 fantasy playoff weeks and the week I didn’t i had the 2nd highest. This was probably my best fantasy team ever and it was the draft I was most nervous about because I didn’t like having all these low spade running backs.
My 2nd highest paying league I’m done for. Hurts and Waddle let me down big time. AB walking out on them in the middle of the game must’ve really affected there focus. I need Jefferson to score 40 tonight to have a chance.

Well the run is over. My team was the best through 16 weeks. Unfortunately this year there were 17 weeks. I ended up starting Antonio Brown as my flex, which was a bad omen for what was to come.
Onto next year...

Onto next year... Man, I did this same ish. I started Mahomes over Burrow, and Burrow got 16 more points on my bench. Would have only made a difference if AB didn't do AB things. So, I lost the title to one of my bosses. He texted me when it looked like he was for sure going to win and said that he would split the pot with me. A welcome surprise for sure. |

I see Brown screwed a lot of people on here. The guy in my league who had him and was playing him this weekend was predicted to win the Championship and was well on his way when Brown thru his temper tantrum. He ended up losing the Championship by 3.15 points.
As for me I had the biggest win the last two weeks. both in the consolation tournament and scored more this week then the two teams in the Championship game. The guy that won the Championship finished the regular season in 4th, 1 place ahead of me with 1 more win at 9-6. So as bad as I might have played at times this year, I was ONE win away from making the playoffs and winning it all. I know just the week that sunk me too. Oh well, just about 8 months until the draft.

It is fantasy football time again, woo woo. Something strange is going on in my world. I play via Yahoo public leagues. I have played every year since about 2004 or 2005 except one. The draft order is always random. I NEVER got to draft 1st. In fact I am not sure I drafted 2nd either. Then two years ago I got to draft one and of course took Christian Mccaffrey and he spend more time injured then playing. Last year, again I got the 1st pick and figuring he would bounce back took Rum CMC again. We know how that panned out. That leads to this year and AGAIN I get the 1st pick. That is three years in a row lol. Needless to say I did not pick Christian. I took Johnathan Taylor so if you have not drafted yet avoid him. My luck says he will get injured. Also Christian might rebound this year since I passed on him.  |

If I get the first pick that where I’m going I change it up pretty much every year when I decide to draft. Sometimes I do it before preseason so I have to deal with injuries like real team and I have also done it after the preseason when I might have a better idea of who to go for. A lot depends on when the mood hits me to get things started. This year I was planning on going WR with my first and maybe even second pick but with JT sitting there I figured I could grab him and take a WR at bottom of 2nd and top of 3rd. I ended up with CeeDee Lamb and Mike Evans. |
