Gladiator Card, Match Concept, and Chart - FEEDBACK PLEASE!

TEASER:

There is a new generation of Gladiators on its way to the Champions of the Galaxy! Not only is the new wave of Gladiators physically superior to any generation before, but they have a new way of PROVING their dominance in a new match as well!

For starters, gone are the days when The Gladiators were more concerned about facepaint design! Now, they put more thought into athleticism and domination the ring instead of just LOOKING THE PART!


INTRODUCING:

BOULDERDASH!!

He isn't your dad's (or granddad's) Gladiator! His conditioning is like no other Gladiator before him! He will prove his worth in the ring shortly, and he is poised to remove all doubt who should be the new leader of the Gladiators!


HERE COME THE GLADIATORS:

Boulderdash brings with him a new match (and chart) for the CotG as well! It will prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that the new Gladiator generation is HERE TO STAY!


So yeah! How's THAT for a teaser? If that hasn't put a smile on your face, I don't know what will! More later today!

Okay, here's what I am thinking for Boulderdash:

His Finisher is a Boulderdash Splash! This is a big boot to the face, followed by a leaping splash from the point Boulderdash is after delivering the big boot, to wherever the opponent has landed. I can adjust this to be a random rating since who knows where the opponent is going to land in relation to where Boulderdash is.

Has he gone through a CLEANSING yet? His stats look like he may have, but he will need to improve in the future by some manner if he's going to be a great wrestler. For now, I'm leaving it up to the Promoter to decide.

His background? I'm thinking he was born on the way to Aethra in space. This will have an effect of having some circles call him an "outsider" (like Tully was called by Ole back in the 4 Horsemen days). Some could claim that he was born in Aethran air space above, while others will claim that he was born in interstellar space and is not a TRUE Aethran. Either way, it gives him a controversial angle.

As for the match itself, I was inspired by Grand Theft Auto Online! There is a mode there called "Here Come the Monsters". You can read about it on that link.

So I figure a "2-versus-3" bout or a "3-versus-4" bout, with the Gladiators team having the lower number of wrestlers (to prove that even if they are out-numbered, they are still the dominant force). The chart is only for the Gladiators team. It is based on all the chart situation results, and is just ONE chart for ANY chart situation. This saves time by not needing to look for the four choice charts. It also saves time since there are no "check foe's (pw) rating", "foe rolls on specified chart if their rating is better", and the dreaded "roll again on this chart"! I made the chart to give the Gladiators the advantage by boosting the better results up by one.

Also, I'm not sure about whether this is an elimination type match with the wrestler who won staying in the ring until eliminated, or if it's a tag match elimination where anyone on the same team can tag in and out.

Forgot to mention: Boulderdash's Special Condition is --

On PIN rolls: If the result is a 10 or higher and it is not a loss for Boulderdash, then do NOT add a Fatigue Token.

The feedback I am asking for is:

1. Should Boulderdash have gone through a Cleansing yet, or is his natural talents good enough for the good card he has?

2. Should the match be ONLY 2v3, 3v4, or both? Also, should it be a tag style elimination match, or a one-on-one until eliminated kind of match?

3. Should I keep the "outsider" angle for Boulderdash's bio?

4. If and when I have the rest of the new Gladiators team, should each member have a DIFFERENT Special Condition, or should they all have the same one as Boulderdash? His Special Condition, as you saw, gives him better conditioning since he will not fatigue as easily as other wrestlers.


Tomorrow, I will post the playing stats and chart. Just letting everyone know now what to think about in the meantime.

I like the card as is - I'm picturing PCO's build with AJ Styles' athleticism, making this a very strong card.  I love the chart; I have a number of ideas for its use, but have to play test first.

Know Your Role: Gladiator Rookie

Finisher: Sunburner
Bio: High-risk high-flyer. Much room for improvement. Not been through a Cleansing yet. Gladiators have a different name for him, but the fans have taken to calling him "Icarus".

Klaxon
Know Your Role: The Team's Muscle! 'Nuff said!
RR: 34 (40)
Finisher: Angry Now! (You can just guess what that means for his Special Condition!)
Bio: Been through first Cleansing. Teams with Zanzibar.

Zanzibar
Role: Brains of the N.G. Gladiators
RR: 37 (43)
Finisher: "Zanzibar Spear Gun"
Bio: Plotting to overtake Boulderdash as leader someday. Boasts that he's the smartest Gladiator ever. Almost ready for another Cleansing.

BIOGRAPHY: Enter Boulderdash! He is the new generation of Aethran Gladiator, and the new team leader! Born on a spaceship on its way to Aethra, was he born in Aethran Air Space? Some may dispute that claim! His physical conditioning is better than any Gladiator before him! A mystery surrounds if he has had his first Cleansing yet, but time will tell!


ICARUS
Height: 6'0”. Weight: 227 LBS. From: Aethran.
Rahl Rated: 38 (41)
Finisher: Starburner (Runs up turnbuckle, flips over backwards and splashes opponent after a very high leap)
Special Condition: For his Finisher, roll 2 dice: 1-4 = The move works, so play normally; 5-6 = He misses! Foe takes over on Level 3 Offense.

BIOGRAPHY: Here is the rookie of the Gladiator team! He is a high-flyer, and improving everyday! He has not been through his first Cleansing yet, but his talents are obvious even at this stage! Wrestling fans have taken to calling him “Icarus” due to his high-flying skill set, and the Aethrans have gone along with it (for now, at least).


KLAXON
Height: 6'4”. Weight: 323 LBS. From: Aethran.
Rahl Rated: 34 (40)
Finisher: Angry Now! (Torture Rack, with theatrics)
Special Condition: The angrier Klaxon becomes, the better his Finisher becomes! Everytime you add a Fatigue Token after a PIN roll (thus Klaxon gets angrier), his Finisher increases by one (up to +5).

BIOGRAPHY: This is the muscle of the group! He will no doubt be compared to original Gladiator Brute, but Klaxon seems to have a better offensive arsenal. He has already been through a Cleansing, but it might be some time before his next one. He teams with Zanzibar as the team “Gladiators New Gen”!


ZANZIBAR
Height: 6'2”. Weight: 248 LBS. From: Aethran.
Rahl Rated: 37 (43)
Finisher: Zanzibar Spear (A running spear, obviously)
Special Condition: A physically gifted athlete, his conditioning is excellent! Whenever the instruction on a Chart Situation or on the opponent’s card reads “Add 1”, ignore the instruction. The only time you add 1 to Zanzibar’s PIN Rating is after a PIN roll.

BIOGRAPHY: Zanzibar claims to be the smartest Gladiator ever (is that really saying much though? LOL!) Zanzibar teams with Klaxon and is ready to dominate the tag division with his partner! Zanzibar has covert plans to takeover as Gladiator leader, but does Boulderdash know this? If so, is there a plan in place to prevent this? Zanzibar is already a very good Gladiator, and has been through his first Cleansing. He is due another one shortly. How will this affect the balance of power in the Gladiator team? Boulderdash better keep an eye on him if he knows what’s good for him!


VORETTE
Vorette is Klaxon’s little sister! She is not a wrestler yet, but she is getting her feet
wet in the business!

Does Boulderdash or Zanzibar (or even Icarus) have a crush on her? Only time
will tell! Will she enter the wrestling ring soon? Perhaps, but she wants to be
fully prepared doing so.

She may turn out to be one of the best wrestlers the Gladiators have ever
produced, OR she may end up one of the greatest TRAINWRECKS since Sunny
(Tammy Sytch)!

Hey everyone!

At some point in the future, I will continue with the "New Gen Gladiators"! Currently, I'm contemplating these ideas (feedback is appreciated... maybe):


1.) A MASKED Gladiator: I don't remember there ever being one, so why not? (I was thinking "outside the box" for this, obviously.)

2.) An updated ICARUS card: After his first Cleansing, he'd be a top "mid-card" guy.

3.) A "screwjob" type of Gladiator. When he loses, there's a chance the ref will REVERSE the decision (percentages haven't been figured out, but I'm thinking a better chance after being DQed?). Maybe I will come up with a referee that sympathizes with the Gladiators for this purpose, I haven't thought about it much yet.


Anyway, those are my ideas for now. I'm thinking that the Masked Gladiator will be Luchadore style and team with the Cleansed Icarus, but I'm not sure.
