LEGENDARY CHRONICLES WRESTLING
Maple Leaf Stampede (card #147) 03.Aug.16 Canada Life Centre, Winnipeg, MB
JERRY BRISCO def. Fit Finlay via submission at 7:21. - Brisco finished Finlay with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. -- Tokens: Brisco 1 - Finlay 3
TIGER CONWAY SR def. Gorilla Monsoon via pinfall at 8:47. - Conway pinned Monsoon following a QUADRUPLE HEAD BUTT. -- Tokens: Monsoon 2 - Jerry Brisco remained at ringside to scout this contest and his presence seemed to have a negative impact on Monsoon's performance. Monsoon tried to gain the upper hand with a brutal assault out on the floor, but a slick reversal allowed Conway to turn the tide.
LARRY ZBYSZKO (w/ Baron von Raschke) def. William Muldoon via pinfall at 18:06. - Zbyszko pinned Muldoon following a PILEDRIVER. -- Tokens: Zbyszko 5 - Muldoon 4 - Interference by Baron ruined the finish of this otherwise highly competitive affair.
JACK BRISCO def. Bob Roop via count-out at 15:34. - Roop was counted out after Brisco nailed him with a Thesz press that cracked his head against the ringside guardrail. -- Tokens: Brisco 4 - Roop 3 - In order to prevent unwanted interruptions, the referee ordered that no one would be permitted at ringside for the duration of this grudge match. The action repeatedly spilled out to the floor as Brisco and Roop pushed each other to the limit, resolving little in this heated feud.
GREG VALENTINE & TERRY GORDY (w/ Jimmy Hart) def. Billy Red Lyons & Red Bastien via pinfall at 17:45. - Valentine pinned Lyons following a falling elbow hammer. -- Tokens: Valentine 1, Gordy 5 - Lyons 3, Bastien 5 - A perfectly timed distraction by Hart helped his team avoid near certain defeat as this bitter rivalry reached an explosive conclusion.
LCW Universal Tag Team Championship Match MASKED SUPERSTAR & STAN HANSEN (w/ Paul Ellering) def. Bob Orton Jr & Ted DiBiase via pinfall at 13:11. - Superstar pinned DiBiase following a SWINGING NECKBREAKER. -- Tokens: Orton 2, DiBiase 5 - Despite offering some solid resistance, Orton and DiBiase had visible problems gaining any kind of momentum in this hard hitting exchange. Keeping his eyes on the prize, Ellering guided his team to a decisive victory. - Jimmy Hart made a post-match appearance to put Ellering's Legion of Doom on notice. Shouting through his megaphone, he claimed that his Hart Foundation was superior to any stable ever assembled. MASKED SUPERSTAR & STAN HANSEN won the LCW Universal Tag Team Championship. (2)
KILLER KOWALSKI def. Bobo Brazil via pinfall at 1:21. - Kowalski pinned Brazil <snake eyes> with a KOWALSKI CLAW. -- Tokens: n/a - Colliding in the middle of the ring, these two big men simply tried to pound each other into submission. A lucky strike by Kowalski knocked Brazil down and a fast count brought this match to a swift conclusion. - Larry Zbyszko rushed the ring after the bell and viciously assaulted Kowalski with a steel chair. Brazil tried to make the save, but Baron von Raschke cut him off. <Kowalski injured for 2 cards.>
Maple Leaf Six-Pack Challenge ED LEWIS (w/ Henry Irslinger & John Pesek) def. Rod Fenton, Ox Baker (w/ Paul Ellering), Frank Gotch, Lou Thesz and Buddy Rogers via elimination at 22:44. - Order of elimination: 1. Rogers (4 tokens) eliminated by Fenton via pinfall at 7:27. Fenton pinned Rogers following a SERIES OF DROPKICKS. 2. Thesz (2 tokens) eliminated by Gotch via pinfall at 9:00. Gotch pinned Thesz with a waistlock takeover. 3. Gotch (5 tokens) eliminated by Baker via pinfall at 15:57. Baker pinned Gotch following a HEART PUNCH. 4. Baker (1 token) eliminated by Lewis via submission at 20:53. Lewis finished Baker with a STRANGLER'S HEADLOCK. 5. Fenton (3 tokens) eliminated by Lewis via submission at 22:44. Lewis finished Fenton with a STRANGLER'S HEADLOCK.

Nice to see Superstar and Hansen win the belts. Also big wins for Jerry B. and Conway Sr. It's probably somewhat obvious that I was feeding Tiger Sr to Gorilla in the hopes that he would look really strong in his debut... You know what they say about best laid plans and all that... HA! On the flip side, it's cool that Ellering's Legion of Doom was able to claim some gold (even though I was initially hoping that Orton & DiBiase would retain)... The wheels are now in motion for a program between them and the Hart Foundation... Should be a fun one. Always appreciate the continued interest and kind words, my friend... Many thanks for staying tuned!

Conway Sr. has pulled off some big victories for me so yeah, he's not a great feeder for a wrestler you want to push. Looking forward to what Jimmy Hart has in mind...because it's going to be the greatest day in his life.

If you tagged Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan... Brawn & Brains. I take it that the Gorilla Monsoon card is a heel?
