- Vachon pinned McCord after teaming with Stevens to deliver a double team combination while the referee was escorting Somers back to his own corner. -- Tokens: Somers 2, McCord 6
- Last year's Cup winners finally put some points on the board, outclassing their opponents with an effective divide and conquer strategy.

Heroes Cup Series - Alpha Bracket
AL COSTELLO & ROY HEFFERNAN (w/ Red Berry) def. Fit Finlay & Scott Irwin via submission at 3:54.
- Costello finished Finlay with a Marble Bor leglock. -- Tokens: Finlay 1
- A clever blind tag by the Kangaroos put them back on the winning track with relative ease.

BOBBY EATON & DENNIS CONDREY (w/ Randy Rose) def. Bobo Brazil & Killer Kowalski via pinfall at 14:20.
- Condrey pinned Kowalski after teaming with Eaton to deliver a MIDNIGHT MASSACRE. -- Tokens: Condrey 5 - Brazil 1, Kowalski 4
- Both teams pulled out all the stops in this grueling encounter. Backing Condrey against the ropes, Kowalski became overconfident and strayed too close to the Midnight Express corner. Eaton nailed Kowalski with a cheap shot, paving the way for his team's much needed victory.

THUNDERBOLT PATTERSON & TIGER CONWAY SR def. Bob Orton Jr & Don Muraco (w/ Rock Riddle) via pinfall at 12:36.
- Patterson pinned Orton after a HEAD BUTT. -- Tokens: Patterson 3 - Orton 1, Muraco 1
- Handing Orton and Muraco their first loss of the competition, Patterson and Conway managed to break a slump that had been ongoing since the start of the year. Riddle protested the decision on the basis that Orton was not the legal man. The referee ignored his argument.

Four Corners Elimination Match
ADRIAN ADONIS def. Dick Hutton, Hillbilly Jim and Moondog Rex via elimination at 21:41.
- Order of elimination:
1. Rex (1 token) eliminated by Jim via submission at 7:09. Jim finished Rex with a BEAR HUG.
2. Jim (2 tokens) eliminated by Hutton via submission at 11:37. Hutton finished Jim with an ABDOMINAL STRETCH.
3. Hutton (5 tokens) eliminated by Adonis (3 tokens) via submission at 21:41. Adonis finished Hutton with a GOODNIGHT IRENE.

VP+ World Class Championship Match
ED LEWIS (w/ John Pesek) def. Larry Hennig via pinfall at 5:08.
- Lewis pinned Hennig with a STRANGLER'S HEADLOCK. -- Tokens: Hennig 3
- A high impact counter off the ropes put Hennig on the mat where Lewis was able to neutralize his size advantage.
Ed Lewis retained the VP+ World Class Championship for a successful version five title defense.

BRUISER BRODY & JIMMY SNUKA def. Baron von Raschke & Nikolai Volkoff via pinfall at 8:28.
- Snuka pinned Baron after a SUPERFLY LEAP. -- Tokens: Brody 1, Snuka 1 - Volkoff 3
- Both teams pulled out all the stops in this seesaw battle. The referee some difficulty maintaining control and several stiff warnings were needed in order to keep things on track.

JACK & JERRY BRISCO def. Jackie Fargo & The Crusher via submission at 2:35.
- Jack finished Crusher with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. -- Tokens: Crusher 1
- Making very short work of some very tough opposition, the reigning LCW Universal Tag Team Champions proved why they were viewed as the most formidable pairing in the profession.

As stated in an earlier post, this was a must win situation for last year's Cup winners, Mad Dog & the Crippler... They got the job done, but it should not be overlooked that they were facing the underdogs of the bracket.

Briscos are looking great and I'm really thinking a lot will hinge on their match against the Kangaroos which is scheduled for the final round of the series... Expecting one of those two teams to earn the opening round bye for the tournament.

Brody & Snuka are killing it!
