100% NWA southern style. Good guys vs bad guys with the occasional good guy vs good guy match or vice versa.
Have a Georgia and Memphis territory right now and expand to Mid Atlantic once the Barry Windham legend set is introduced and will keep expanding with Florida, Mid South, Portland, World Class, Southeastern until my legends Fed is a whole, old school NWA territory system

I think the main reason I haven't been able to stick with an indie fed for very long is that there's not a clear line with most indie guys whether they're trying to be a heel or face.

Also, it's hard to enjoy a match where all you see is Flat Earth Canadian Destroyers into Low Blow Backfists, 960 Side-Headlock Splashes From a Fan's Soda Cup, Arena Dive Michinoku Drivers from the Vending Machine Wristlock Position, Apron Boston Crabs into Sleeper Ankledrop Breaker Bombs, etc. I've been watching the Best of Harley Race, and I prefer pre-indie-must-be-5-star-kickout-at-only-death style matches. I don't mind sitting there for fifteen minutes with Race trying to get out of Giant Baba's headlock.

There aren't a lot of pure heels in modern wrestling at the indie level. MJF was one. Hakim Zane/Rohit Raju on Impact is a really good heel live. I haven't watched him on Impact so I can't speak to that.

I'm face/heel and do not switch.

Good topic. I think it's easier to do villain-villain, because fans would just want to see them beat the crap out of one another. Plus, you could see jealousy and conflicts arising more easily between bad guys with compromised morals. Hero-hero is a little tougher, but I've done it primarily in title situations where someone is clearly the top contender and deserves a shot. Usually little or no "out of the ring" action which you would expect from two good guys who are there for the sake of competition. But if the good guys are, for example, Wolf and Renegade, I just let them go assuming that's what they would consider a "fair fight" given their styles. Good point on Wolf-Renegade Tim. The anti-heroes are fair game to let them brawl a bit.

Interesting discussion. My CoTG is very, very much "shades of grey." I can't believe that there is anyone who is 100% face or 100% heal. Is Star Warrior not just a shade, one way or the other, of Star Slayer or Avenging Warrior? (Heck, Thantos is the leader of my lighter shade of grey wrestlers at current.) Endgame COULD revert to evil at anytime, couldn't he? Isn't the best wrestling grey? Road Warriors? Later Undertaker? Macho Man over horrible worthless Hogan? Any current AEW? No one is 100% good ..and keeping people on their toes, as a turn could come at anytime, is better than any 80's WWF. Lord Nexus... Probably the purest babyface ever seen in the COTG universe... As far as I can recall. In real life? Ricky Steamboat maybe? Yes. I actually heard in an interview that Ric Flair, though praising Steamboat, says his one drawback on his legacy is not having worked as a heel.

In a Face/Face matchup, fans can be loud and support "their guy", and hopefully both wrestlers are selling the competition aspect of it. Sometimes, it splits the crowd, which can be fun. Heel/Heel always makes me nervous that the fans would say "I hope they both lose", and not cheer for anyone.

If your storyline is strong enough, any combination can work.
