Ric Flair by Randy Mulkey. How in the hell? Concur fully with this - if it is the Flair card that I have this seems like an impossibility - unless Flair was injured prior to the match severely. But the dice don't lie.

Just last night, in my Memphis wrestling fed (known simply as Memphis), Sam Houston faced off against King Kong Bundy. This was both men's first match in the fed but...dirty little secret...Bundy was brought in by Jimmy Hart as an "insurance policy" for Tommy Rich, to make sure that Rich retains his Southern Heavyweight Title at all costs. Bundy has not had to be used in that capacity yet (it may happen next week as Rich faces Austin Idol with the belt on the line).
But I digress...
Sam Houston looked to be a HEAVY underdog going into the match. This is King Kong Bundy, after all.
Houston was able to get some good offense in and then Bundy took control for a short time and looked like he might have it in hand. Suddenly, Houston put on an offensive clinic, hit two Bulldogs and a lariat or two, got Bundy up to 10 fatigue and finished him off with another Bulldog. And of course, Bundy couldn't get any help from Rich or Hart, as they were saving their alliance for the optimum moment.

Last night in my LWF fed, I held the United States Heavyweight Title Tournament's first round matches. 16 men in this tournament, with two regional heavyweight champions (Tommy Rich and Vader, the Southern Heavyweight Champion and the Main Event Wrestling Heavyweight Champion respectively) getting automatic berths.
Tommy Rich faced off against Mike Graham and, on paper, and with no offense to Mike Graham, it's Rich in a walk. Not only is he the Southern Heavyweight Champion, he also has Jimmy Hart in his corner. If nothing else, he has an equalizer.
Mike Graham didn't care. When he got an opening, he used it and, in a little over four minutes, he made Tommy Rich submit to the Figure Four.
Mike Graham moves on to face Barry Windham next week.
Later, Vader faced off against Austin Idol. Vader has become such a dominant force in the ring, I have questioned whether or not he should be able to hold titles. He is the Main Event Wrestling (MEW) Heavyweight Champion and has steamrolled almost everyone that has been put in front of him.
Austin Idol must have been taking notes on Mike Graham's victory because once he found an opening, he went for it. The opening occurred when Vader came off the top and the two men collided with the referee. Idol locked on the Las Vegas Leglock three times while the referee was down and a fourth time to finish Vader off once the ref had recovered.
Austin Idol will face Randy Savage next week.

In the LWF last night, I thought there would not be an upset, though there was plenty of potential for one. Mike Graham could have defeated Barry Windham in the second round of the U.S. Heavyweight Title Tournament (spoiler: he didn't but he made a good showing) or Brad Armstrong could have defeated Harley Race in the same tournament (spoiler: he did not). The night was just chugging along without an upset.
Midway through the night, a coin toss was held between Vader and Tommy Rich to see which territorial champion would face Nick Bockwinkel for the LWF World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of the night. Vader won the coin flip.
You see where this is going?
Vader is such a powerhouse but in the last little while, he's had some trouble getting it done against some guys. Austin Idol knocked him out of the U.S. Title tourney last week and the week prior, he and Harley Race lost to The Road Warriors.
Nick Bockwinkel had Bobby Heenan at ringside and Champion's Rules were in effect. Vader had Race at ringside to try and neutralize Heenan. It didn't matter. Bockwinkel dominated Vader and when Vader would get even a bit of offense in, the champion still found a way to come back and take control of the match, again and again. Bockwinkel slapped on a Bockwinkel Sleeper and then the Figure Four in the center of the ring. Race tried to distract the ref but Heenan took care of Race, pulling him off the apron.
And Vader...submitted!
This was not only an upset, it might be the greatest upset in the history of the LWF to date.

I'm not sure Bockwinkel beating Vader is an upset. Bock seems to do pretty well against Vader generally. I'd definitely consider Idol's victory over him an upset though.
