I have started to put together a set of Memphis cards, I have sadly run out of new Memphis sets, so with the help of You Tube & a few other sources I am trying my hand at my own Memphis collection. So questions abound does anyone know what the finishers were for Billy Joe Travis & Bota the Witch Doctor & Rocky Johnson? Also did Adrian Street have an extended run in Memphis? In case any one was wondering here is where I am at Rip Rogers, the Sheepherders (Luke & Butch) & Rocky Johnson. Perhaps the Mongolian Stomper, the Wild Samoans, Bota & Travis.

I'd still love to get stats for Gorgeous George Jr. I'll have to rewatch again for Johnson......funny as much as I've seen Travis...I can't recall a particular finisher. Never seen Bota from what I recall. Street in Memphis......hmmm not sure if he had a really long run....seemed he was more in Alabama and the like but I could be mistaken.

It's really too bad Travis H. isn't a part of this community any longer. His contributions were many, and his Memphis sets are brilliant and obviously created with love for the subject.

Just an FYI, Street had an extended run as part of Cornette's army (Jesse Barr and Apocalypse were also in the group) around 82-83. His main feud throughout the year was against Bill Dundee. The two, while small (5-5, 5-6) was believable because of the size match up and Dundee's creative booking. Dundee was the right hand man in booking with Lawler and Jerry Jarrett. Dundee booked most of the angle's with Cornette. The feud ended with a hair vs hair match w/Dundee beating Street, as Street quietly exited the area for good. You should contact Harker Dirge. Street actually trained him in Florida, so he would help you out. Mark T also has an awesome Street drawing up at his site (can't remember the name of the site though). The Sheepherders, during Memphis runs, were Jonathan Boyd and Luke Williams during the early 80s and Johnathan Boyd and Rip Morgan in the mid 80s. Butch never had a run in the Memphis area. He was actually injured as Luke took on Boyd as his tag partner. The Wild Samoans in the area weren't Afa and Sika. THe Samoans who were part of the Gulas area were Tia and Tapui (sp on those). The Afa and Sika version were called the Manchurians (I believe) during this time. They later took the Samoan name. THe "original" Samoans were in the area (and by area, this covered Jarrett and Gulas' area) in the late 70s and the duo ended up as singles wrestlers in the Poffo run ICW in the early 80s. Try this for Travis 1. headlock - 1 2. hip toss - 1 3. head to buckle - 2 4. running knee lift - 2 (pw) 5. shoulder block - 2 (ch B) 6. forearms to ribs - 3 (pw) 1. boot to gut - 2(ag) 2. back body drop - 2 3. rrunning elbow - 2 4. into the ropes (c) 5. right uppercuts - 3 6. flying dropkick - 3 1. whip to buckle - 2 (ch C) 2. deathjump (c) 3. out of the ring 4. 2nd rope slingshot elbow - 3 5. FLYING KNEE DROP (0) 6. GUITAR SHOT (+2) dis If you are doing a Stomper card, one mechanic you should have on his card..his managers always claimed ears were overly sensative. THe manager would warn the crowd cheering would hurt the Stompers ears. Of course, the crowd would cheer like crazy, causing the Stmper to hold his ears...giving his opponent time to recover and take over.

Thanks guys...the biggest problems I have is making the cards to strong or to weak. I should be about done in about 2 weeks, I have several meetings with my daughters teachers she is trying to graduate a year early, so it may take longer. I'll try to post them...BUT it may look a bit ugly but I'll try.

Tell me about it! I was really looking forward to that Memphis Madmen set before he bailed on us and disappeared into the Memphis sunset.
