-This is a 24 man invitational tournament. The top 8 wrestlers were given a Bye. The rest were sent to Qualifying or First Round matches. The tournament will be held over three nights until a World champion is crowned.
1) "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig defeated The Great Muta with the Perfect-Plex in 7:32 -Good back and forth action with Henning dodging a Flying Cross Body attempt and locking in the fisherman suplex for the win.
2) Lex Luger beat Bruiser Brody with a Press Slam in 6:11 -High impact action from both as Luger scored a mild upset with a three count on the wildman Brody.
3) Dory Funk Jr. defeated Terry Gordy with the Indian Deathlock in 5:21 -Funk showed his wrestling skill and prowess by outclassing the larger Gordy.
4) Barry Windham defeated "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase with a Bulldog in 10:32. -DiBiase got a bit too cocky and took too much time on the second rope and missed with an attempted elbow drop. Windham came flying off the ropes and caught DiBiase as he staggered to his feet and got the victory.
5) Jerry "The King" Lawler defeated Rick Rude with the Piledriver in 9:25. -Rude thought he had the match won. He hit a Rude Awakening and made a sloppy cover. He did not see Lawler's foot on the rope and turned to celebrate. Lawler kicked him in the gut and then dumped him on his head for the to win to advance.
6) "Dr. Death" Steve Williams defeated Roddy Piper with the Oklahoma Stampede in 5:22. -Doc was unstoppable in this contest and steamrolled the Rowdy One.
7) Terry Funk and Giant Baba Fought to a Double-Countout in 12:15. -The match went to the floor and the two engaged in a brawl. Unfortunately for them they ignored the ref's instructions and both were eliminated from the tournament.
8) David Von Erich defeated "Macho Man" Randy Savage with the Iron Claw in 8:33 -Von Erich kept the hold on for almost a full four minutes before Savage conceded.
News and Notes: A solid first night of action. Probably the biggest surprise was Bruiser Brody falling in the qualifying round and that there will be a Bye in the next round due to the Double-Countout finish.
Promoter's Note: Yet another reboot. I thought I had something with the WWF v NWA project but I lost interest. And so I begin anew...again. This time I try multiple territories again. I'm also doing something I should have done a long time ago. I'm going to play several cards ahead and then pace out when I post them so they are more regular. I really enjoy playing but when there is a gap between when I play and post I lose interest. I really want to try and keep this attempt going. Using official B&W sets, and Olson sets from the Yahoo group. Wish me luck.

In-Ring Interview (Jim Ross is with Bobby Heenan and his Family - Nick Bockwinkel, Rick Rude, Curt Hennig & Tully Blanchard)
JR: Well I see that you are all smiles Mr. Heenan and with good reason. BH: You will address me as the Brain you bumpkin. I told you and everyone else that I guaranteed victory for Nick Bockwinkel and that he would be the next LWA World Heavyweight champion and what happened, huh? Right here is the proof. I only manage the best. Look around you. This is a collection of some of the finest athletes that this sport has to offer. And tonight there is a Battle Royal to determine the first LWA Hollywood Heritage Champion and I'd say that the odds that one of these men take the gold is more than just pretty good. JR: Well (ahem) Brain. There was a bit of controversy surrounding that match with former champion Ric Flair as you interjected yourself as well as the distraction provided by Hulk Hogan. Would you care to comment on that? BH: How dare you attempt to diminish this accomplishment! I won't dignify it with an answer. NB: Please allow me. Mr. Ross I understand as a journalist you must not only ask questions but you must attempt to stir up controversy as well. But let me be clear this is a man's sport and you must overcome obstacles. I have great respect for Mr. Flair and let me say right here and now that he will get his mandated re-match. He has my word. But as for that muscled up glamour hog Hulk Hogan, I have no respect for him and his presence at ringside did not concern me. So if Ric Flair chose to focus on him and not his duties as champion well then maybe that's why I have possession of this beautiful golden belt. JR: Understood. My final question is to anyone in the Heenan family. Tonight all of you will have a chance to win the LWA Hollywood Heritage championship so I'd like to know which one of you will be leaving with the gold tonight? BH: Oh no you don't! This interview is over. Let's go!
