Like so many of you, 2020 has been a trying year for my family and I. On March 21st, just as the pandemic was beginning to explode, my oldest son passed away at only 31. The first few weeks after losing him were made even more difficult due to the majority of establishments being closed for business. My wife and I couldn’t even “escape reality” for an hour or so to go get a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Fortunately, for our sanity, we were both deemed as “essential” workers, so we were unharmed financially and truth be told, work at least offered some “escape”. The other form of “escape” I found was to bury myself in the greatest game in the galaxy, and on this message board discussing it. Amazing how one common interest can form a community. Chances are, I’ll never meet most, if not any of you and yet I still feel like I know so many of you, even going so far as to reference some of you while talking with the friends (and family) I see every day. Thanks to ALL of you for being there for me without even knowing that I needed you to be.
On a related note, I mistakenly received the 3 COTG Promoter Prime cards for this quarter. Inspired by the generosity of my fellow promoters, and of Tournament Master, who told me to just keep them, I’d like to give them to one of the COTG promoters who could put them to good use. Unfortunately, my free time allows only for “real world” wrestling game play. Shoot me a private message before 11:58 PM (Iron Maiden tribute 😉) on 12/25 and my wife and I will pick a random winner to send the cards to. And again, thanks to ALL of you!
