2) In an Opening Round Match of the Southern Tag Title Tournament, The Axe Attack beat Chaz & Tugboat Taylor when Larry Hennig pinned Chaz following the AXE
3) In an Opening Round Match of the Southern Tag Title Tournament, Buddy Rogers & Gorgeous George beat Ron Hutchinson & Scott Casey when George pinned Casey after a missed deathjump
Rodney Mack came out and bashed Hutchinson into the steel ring post, leaving Casey at a 2 on 1 advantage. After the match, Rogers locked on the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE on Casey. Rogers was ticked Thesz cost him the shot at the Southern Title by interfering, but Lance Russell reminded him that he interfered in Thesz’s match beforehand.
Rock Riddle interrupted by saying they’ll get their shot against Thesz, but tonight, his men will be the first Southern Tag Champions and holding titles bring them more money.

Bobby Heenan interfered initially, but as the ref was still distracted, Randy Savage ran in and blindsided Curt and gave him the FLYING ELBOW DROP.
Larry Hennig was irate and challenged Savage to a bounty match on the next card
