With the NBA recently suggesting it is looking at expansion (partially for the expansion fees- that Mark Cuban suggests could be as much as $2 billion to $3 billion per team- to offset the huge recent financial losses caused by COVID-19,) what cities do you think have the best chance to get an NBA team?
You can select up to two options as there would likely be two expansion teams.

Seattle is a given. The 2nd one is harder. I guess I'll take Las Vegas, since they have had some good turnout for the Knights. Also a huge home court advantage having the opposing players in Las Vegas the night before a game.

I think Seattle will definitely be one of the teams especially as they have that new venue opening for the Krakan.
I don't know if Las Vegas would get the other team but I think they have a legitimate chance with the 4 year old T-Mobile Arena where VGK plays and Las Vegas is the home to the NBA's Summer League and the home to USA Basketball.
My understanding is both Kansas City and Louisville (what a great basketball city) already have good venues which could help their chances while San Diego's lack of a new venue makes it unlikely and Nashville would cut into the market for Memphis and seems more focused on becoming a MLB city anyway. Perhaps hosting the Raptors could help Tampa's chances like hosting the New Orleans franchise after Hurricane Katrina helped Oklahoma City?
I think at some point the NBA does want to expand to cities like London and Mexico City but probably not right now as they are having enough difficulties with the Raptors (having to play in Florida) located just over the border.

Well big issue with any expansion is division alignments. I would expect that if they do expand (iffy on that at the moment but the revenue is always hard to turn down) then one would be in the East and the other the West. Seattle seems to be a virtual lock but as they've managed teams in Memphis and Oklahoma City, the second would be interesting.
Always found it interesting that Pittsburgh has never really been a big supporter of basketball. They had one team move and then when they got it back it died a few years later.

Seattle and Vegas, but disappointed there's no "who cares, the NBA sucks" option.

Well big issue with any expansion is division alignments. It seems like it would be fairly trivial to move either Minnesota or Memphis to the East, if they went with two Western teams.
