Former Maple Leafs captain George Armstrong dead at 90 Forward guided club to 4 Stanley Cups, spent entire career with Toronto George Armstrong, who captained the Toronto Maple Leafs to four Stanley Cups in the 1960s and wore the blue and white his entire career, has died. He was 90. The Maple Leafs confirmed the death Sunday on Twitter. Armstrong played a record 1,187 games with 296 goals and 417 assists over 21 seasons for the Leafs, including 13 seasons as team captain. The right-winger added another 26 goals and 34 assists in 110 playoff games.

R&B 'I'm Your Puppet' legend dies from COVID-19 complications in Pensacola One-half of the duo group, James and Bobby Purify, has passed away to complications to COVID-19. James Purify died in Pensacola on Friday. He was 76 James Purify and his brother Bobby were popular in the 1960s for their single, "I'm Your Puppet."

Former Bears kicker LeClerc passes away Former Bears kicker Roger LeClerc, a member of the 1963 NFL championship team, passed away Thursday at the age of 84. LeClerc was selected by the Bears in the 15th round of the 1959 draft out of Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. He spent the first seven seasons of his eight-year NFL career with the Bears from 1960-66, appearing in 96 games. He made 76 of 152 field-goal attempts (50 percent) with a long of 50 yards and 152 of 158 extra-point tries (96.2 percent). Standing 6-3 and weighing 235 pounds, LeClerc also played center and linebacker. He registered his only career interception in a 1963 game and made 12 of 17 career starts at linebacker in 1964. LeClerc spent one final season of his playing career in the American Football League with the Denver Broncos in 1967. Following his retirement, LeClerc was a math teacher in the Agawam, Mass., school system for 30 years.
