Duggan came in hot, but it looks like he just ran out of gas... Entertaining victory for Hawk.
Have to agree with my friends and fellow promoters on this one... Bockwinkel takes the next match... Might be fun to see some interaction between Heenan and Cornette... Oh, snap!

Nick Bockwinkel (8) w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan v. Dennis Condrey (57) w/Jim Cornette
Lots to watch with Cornette and Heenan lurking at ringside. It is virtual back and forth stalemate for several minutes with neither man able to string together more then two moves. Condrey manages to connect with a pair of running lariats that give him the advantage. A third one later on misses but he maintains the momentum. Heenan is livid as Condrey rubs Bockwinkel’s face into the mat. The weasel chants from ringside are not helping his mood. Condrey whips Bockwinkel into the corner hard but no one is home when he follows in for a clothesline. Bockwinkel with a roll up for two (R8/P3). Condrey regains his feet but Bockwinkel applies a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Cornette distracts Morgan Dollar and the action continues. HEAT! Condrey bails after a choke on the ropes. Condrey rebounds Bockwinkel into a tackle but his follow up knee drop misses and does more damage to his leg! Butt drop to the leg. It is all Bockwinkel. Condrey into the ropes… flying tackle! NICE! Condrey is choking out his foe on the ropes. Jabs rock Bockwinkel. Atomic drop. Bockwinkel bails. Bockwinkel trips up Condrey from the floor and rams his leg off the ring post! BOOO! Bockwinkel with a deathjump smash. Condrey goes hard into the corner. Bockwinkel charges in . . . back drop to the floor!!! Condrey gets some payback with the chair. OMG! Shoulder power slam. Blood is in Bockwinkel’s eyes. Bockwinkel counters a backdrop with a piledriver. Both men are exhausted. Back suplex. Butt drop to the leg. Another back suplex. Bockwinkel attacks the leg again and again. Another back suplex. A quick jabs stops the attack but the following running lariat misses. Bockwinkel attacks again. Bockwinkel climbs to the top over the objection of a frantic Heenan. Knee drop misses. It is back and forth with both men missing moves. Condrey stains the canvas with his opponent’s blood grinding Bockwinkels face into the mat. Elbow smash finds the mark but Bockwinkel counters a charge to the corner with knees. Bockwinkel wraps up Condrey in an abdominal stretch. Condrey counters a drop toe hold. Atomic drop and Bockwinkel falls to the floor. Back in the ring, Condrey plants Bockwinkel with a tombstone. Backbreaker from Condrey and Bockwinkel rolls outside. Bockwinkel stumbles towards Heenan but trips over Dr. Mike Lano. Back in the ring . . . FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP . . . 1, 2 kick out (R9/P2). Condrey is fired up and attacks. Bockwinkel stops him cold with a back suplex. Another abdominal stretch slows it down. Condrey rolls to the floor after a back suplex. Bockwinkel comes outside but takes a moment to stare down Cornette. Condrey strikes from behind sending Bockwinkel through Cornette and into the ring post. CORNETTE IS IN A HEAP! Back in the ring . . . FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP. 1, 2, kick out (R8/P3). Whip to the corner and kick. Whip to the opposite corner and the two competitors crack skulls. THIS IS AWESOME! Morgan Dollar is counting both men . . . FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP! Heenan distracts Dollar . . . NO! FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP – Heenan trips up Condrey from the floor. HEAT! Bockwinkel with a back suplex . . . 1, 2, ½ (R7/P5). Cornette is back to his feet. Bockwinkel to the top. Condrey knocks the ropes . . . Bockwinkel crashes to the mat in a heap. Up next.... Big Van Vader (4) v. Nikolai Volkoff (61)
Can Volkoff make it two upsets in a row?

WOW! Superb effort by both competitors in that last match... I'm out of breath just reading the action... Nice upset by Condrey to take a favorite out of this year's tourney (as well as next year's installment)... Gotta give some credit to Cornette for that early distraction that might have saved his man from Bockwinkel's signature sleeper hold.
We could very well be looking at THE MAN who's going to take it all in the upcoming encounter... It's time! It's VADER TIME!

Great match between Condrey and Bockwinkel. That really was a pleasure to follow. I think Vader is a Man on a Mission in this Tournament. Nikolai Volkoff will not even be able to slow him down. But there are those wicked DQs lurking....

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Big Van Vader (4) v. Nikolai Volkoff (61)
Volkoff sings and we boo! Vader shows off his power early on. Twice a front slam shakes the ring and so does a power body slam that drives the Russian powerhouse into the mat. Running body avalanche crushes Volkoff. 1, 2, kick out (R6/P4). Vader lands a bone-crunching splash. Morgan Dollar counts to two (R9/P5). Vader hits another splash. Volkoff ducks a clothesline. Volkoff tries for an eye rake but Vader shoves him back and charges. The clothesline is ducked. Both men are missing moves but Vader connects with a running body avalanche. Volkoff crumbles and the three count is academic (R4/P6).
Up next . . . Iron Sheik (29) v. Pitbull #2 (36)
