Hello!
It is once again time for the annual legend’s tournament. For those promoters who followed along in the past, welcome back! For anyone checking out the action for the first time, this is my annual 64-man tournament. The format is single elimination, standard match rules. The seeds are loosely based on the Rohl ranking of each competitor along with the performance in the previous year’s tournament. The final eight competitors from last year’s event received the top eight seeds in this year’s event. The Destroyer, last year’s winner gets the top seed and the man he beat in the final round, Stan Hansen, gets number two etc., etc. A loss in the first round also means the competitor is banned from competing in the next year’s tournament. Among the competitors who failed to make it out of the first-round last year were Lou Thesz, Macho Man, Dr. Death and Barry Windham. They are not in the brackets this year.
Previous final round results include…
2011: Bobo Brazil pinned Killer Kowalski 2012: Nick Bockwinkel submitted Andre The Giant 2013: Road Warrior Hawk defeated Greg Valentine 2014: Antonio Inoki submitted Rikidozan 2015: Antonio Inoki pinned Mil Masacaras to claim back to back victories 2016: In the first non-clean finish tournament final, George Hackenschmidt bested Tommy Rich by DQ 2017: The controversy continued as Randy Savage and Rob Van Dam battled to a double disqualification in the finals and were declared co-winners. 2018: Steve Williams pinned Bruiser Brody 2019: Bobo Brazil pinned Harley Race 2020: The Destroyer submitted Stan Hansen
Morgan Dollar is the official for all the matches and Dr. Mike Lano will be at ringside to capture the action.
As always, comments and predictions are appreciated. First match…

Always look forward to this tournament... Definitely a highlight of the year!
There are two wrestlers in particular that I will be rooting for in a big way - Dynamite Kid and Vampiro... For the opening match, I'm picking The Destroyer over Beefcake... Let 'em roll!

I already ordered my lifelong ticket the time when I started to come here on the Board a few years ago 🙂 And im always excited to see if happen again. Will the Destroyer be able to defend his Title? He would not be the first one to do so. Sadly Guys like Antonio Inoki are out, cause they have no Color Card YET 😏 And there are some Monsters lurking in the Shadows. Will someone be able to put down Vader? For the first match i clearly will pick the Destroyer

I am also looking forward to seeing what Konan and Dynamite Kid can do Both are in the top half of the draw so you will not have to wait too long to see them in action!

The question of who can stop Vader will be key to the tournament this year will several big names (Thesz, Savage, Williams) not in the brackets.

The Destroyer (1) v. Brutus Beefcake (64)
Destroyer is talking trash with some confidence before the bell coming in as the top seed in this year’s event. Beefcake has the kids out of their seats as he comes to the ring and Morgan Dollar has strict instructions for both men. The pace is quick and Destroyer takes control after a duck under and cross over sending Beefcake flying with a back body drop and then landing a smash to the leg off the second rope. Beefcake is in trouble but manages to counter a clothesline in the corner with one of his own. Destroyer recovers first and comes off the buckles with a forearm to the skull. Backbreaker does damage but Beefcake reverses a whip to the corner and catches Destroyer with kick. The following knee lift is easily countered and Beefcake is flung into the ropes. On the rebound both men hit a clothesline and crash to the mat. Both men are regaining their feet but Destroyer ties up Beefcake in a bow and arrow and then uses an airplane spin. Beefcake rolls to the floor in an effort to regain his legs. Destroyer follows and as he moves in, Beefcake grabs a camera from Dr. Mike Lano’s bag and smashes Destroyer over the head with it. YIKES! Despite his warnings before the bell, Morgan Dollar lets the action continue. Destroyer’s mask is stained red but he ducks a wind-up punch and lands handstand knee drops. Beefcake rolls under the ropes again and Destroyer follows for an exchange. Back in the ring, Destroyer traps Beefcake in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK but Beefcake makes the ropes (R8/P5). Bombs Away in on target and handstand knee drops follow. Destroyer charges Beefcake in the corner but Beefcake gets the knee up to counter. Beefcake whips Destroyer into the opposite buckles and follows in… backdrop to the floor! Destroyer grabs the camera bag from Dr. Mike Lano and chokes out Beefcake with the strap! Dollar lets the action carry on and Destroyer attacks the lower body from the buckles. Leg scissors slows it down and drains Beefcake before a pair of backbreakers force Beefcake to the floor. Back within the ropes, Destroyer tries an attack from the top but misses. Beefcake with a knee lift and clothesline. Beefcake is on fire with a kick in the corner and back elbow smash. Another clothesline is followed by a back elbow but Destroyer reverses a whip to the buckles and lands a kick of his own. Handstand knee drops. Three backbreakers and Beefcake rolls outside. The brawl on the floor goes to Destroyer. Bombs Away lands. Forearms fly. Beefcake’s lariat misses and Destroyer makes him pay with multiple moves. The flurry ends with a whip to the corner. Beefcake bounces out and they crack skulls! THIS IS AWESOME! Both men are slow to get up… Destroyer grabs a leg and applies a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Beefcake grabs the ropes (R9/P8). ROARING!!! Bombs Away and Beefcake again escape to the floor. Back inside, Destroyer attacks the leg from the top and then punishes Beefcake with a bow and arrow. It is all Destroyer as Beefcake has very little left in the tank. Backbreakers and knee drops. Bow and Arrow. Beefcake is down on the mat. FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and Beefcake has to submit (R8/P10). Not sure anyone could have predicted that Beefcake would push the defending champion that far. The bar for match quality has been set high right out of the gate.
Up next . . .
