Surprised how much Beefcake hung on. Very cool. Got to go with Stevens especially with the Brain being involved.

Strong showing by Beefcake but he came up short. His reward for a gutsy performance, no tournament appearance next year tough pill for him to swallow.

Wow! This tourney is firing on all cylinders right out of the gate... Very cool that Beefcake put up such a great fight... And nice work by The Destroyer on keeping the hopes of a repeat alive.
Gotta pick the Patriot over the Crippler to set up the mask vs. mask encounter in the next round... Sweet!

Thanks for the comments TTX , Cruising00 , Pariah and for the picks from Vegas and walkswithwolf . Ray Stevens (32) w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan v. Del Wilkes (33) Morgan Dollar sends Heenan to the back before the bell and a furious Brain is sent off with a loud weasel chant from the sold-out crowd. Stevens regroups and assumes control of the early exchanges. Wilkes is flung into the ropes and Stevens hits a perfect dropkick on the rebound. Wilkes counters a headlock and choke with an elbow jab to take control. Back-to-back power slams and a belly to belly has Stevens second guessing his strategy but Stevens manages to block another belly to belly attempt. Wilkes quickly powers back with a hip toss and a standing dropkick one ups Stevens. PATRIOT MISSLE lands. 1, 2, kick out (R4/P2). UNCLE SLAM for two (R7/P3). Wilkes to the top . . . PATRIOT MISSLE . . . three count (R4/P4). Up next… Vampiro (17) v. Bob Orton Jr. (48) |

HA! Good, ol' Morgan Dollar throws Stevens and Heenan a massive curveball... And now we get to see The Destroyer vs. The Patriot in the next round... Nice!
