Most of the indy cards reflect them at some pointin their career and aren't necessarily accurate either.....Ricochet for example would likely be statted differently so I don't understand the suspension of disbelief. It's a period thing. Ricochet is definitely statted differently on his card than he would be now, but at least he is contemporary to guys like, say, Mil Muertes and RUSH. 2014 (or whatever year he came out) Ricochet vs. 2019 Sammy Guevara...I can stretch my suspension of disbelief that far. 2014 Ricochet vs. 1990 Vampiro (or whatever year that card represents), not so much. But that is a personal preference, and if your mileage varies, that's cool. I’m kinda like that in legends. I don’t mind a million dollar man and black glove DiBiase or boogie woogie and Handsome Jimmy Valiant card because they’re both kinda “peak” for them. But I wouldn’t want a “young” Curt Hennig because he’s already established with “Mr Perfect” in my fed, so it feels like I’d be going backwards.

I have always, always, always had that problem with Legends, and that's why several attempts at running an LOW fed all petered out and died young for me. My current iteration features them as holographic images of themselves with AI engines to drive them, and I am having much, much more fun with that, plus out allows me to overcome the time inconsistency. I also thought about running the Heavenly Wrestling Federation, only using wrestlers who have died, but I decided that was too morbid for my tastes.

Oh, snap! This discussion has really taken off... Mixing eras is not a problem in my eyes - In my Legends fed, I will have no issues with pitting Jim Londos against Mikey Whipwreck... Even though I'm currently introducing wrestlers in real-life chronological order, that was just a way to give me some kinda foundation for building my roster... So 2014 Ricochet vs. 1990 Vampiro works fine for me.
Truly appreciate all the excellent recommendations so far... Please continue... And many thanks!

Oh I don’t have a problem mixing at all (I do kinda have my 2001 cutoff when I think wrestling “died”. I have a feud with Savage and Poffo taking on George and Firpo already planned. I’m more of keeping guys in their best/prime (like stated in a previous post).

Its a very interesting point. I never got into COTG. But I did like the idea that sets were done in an order so that you'd see progression or regression and eventually retirement.
Of course it's up to you promoter.
I've seen several bootleg sets that do each year of a territory and then move to the next.
Over the years I've stuck with wrestlers from the same era and I've mixed. I've used boots and then sometimes been strict on using official cards. Do what you feel.

In fact, you and I have the same single hangup - I would not want to bring in an earlier/younger version of a wrestler that's already in my fed.

Unless they were totally different (the Bepo/Bolo vs Volkoff/Superstar or Robertson/Link for instance) I wouldn't either.
Cole would be interesting...could be one to battle a Thousand Deaths.

Mercedes Martinez, Shayna Baszler & Ivelisse for the women. Sammy Guevara, Killer Kross & MJF for the men.
