Such a cool look behind the curtain. I've said before that the 'cast is much like hanging out with friends chatting about the game. Granted, for whatever reason, in this episode it was very much like listening in on a secret meeting held in a cabin secluded in the woods.. and possibly, at any moment, a midg.. er, um, little person could have walked in and started talking backwards. Or maybe that was just me.
I exceptionally loved this episode. It was not sleep inducing at all.. it actually got me rolling. One thing though.. Ha! Dingus.
Question for Chad: You mentioned living not far from Humboldt, Iowa. I assume you've been to Gotch's grave? When it gets a little warmer (or a lot less snowy) I'm thinking of making a drive up (and hitting a brewery in Ames.) I've been researching a few more in Iowa. Might make it a new weird thing.

I live in Gilbert, which is four miles north of Ames. I live close to Alluvial Brewery, which is a great Ames brewery. I've been to the monument of Gotch in Humboldt, but I haven't been to his grave. Is that in Humboldt, or in Gotch State Park? I tried to stop at the park before but it was closed for the season. If you like Pasquele's frozen pizza, you've got to hit Pasquele's restaurant when you go to Humboldt. Fantastic pizza! Let me know if you're interested in a brewery/pizza/Frank Gotch road trip sometime!

I didn't know of the monument or the park.. being in Urbandale - for you non-Iowa and very possibly warmer peoples reading, that is a suburb of Des Moines - I'm about two hours from Humboldt. Makes it harder to justify just a grave trip... but a monument and park gives us three separate Gotch reasons. Throw in beer and pizza. Man, here in Iowa.. just one is an excursion right there. Yee-ha! (I'm joking with the Yee ha. We don't talk like that... Much.) (And Alluvial. Oh, man. They are one of the state's best, for sure!) I've got two more famous Iowa pro wrestler's graves I want to go to some day: Farmer Burns is supposedly in Toronto, Iowa. Earl Caddock is in Walnut and there looks to be a rather extensive city history museum too.

I listened to this podcast tonight while typing up the multiple choice questions for my AP World History's test this week.
As mentioned on the podcast, I did indeed win the Indy women's tournament with Angelina Love at last weekend's Perennial to advance to the Perennial Cup Semi-Finals. For the Indy card to use in the Semi-Finals, I wanted to use one of the cards I worked on and I was at first debating between Kenny Omega and Tyler Black. But after my opponent who won the LOW tournament chose Vader, I went with Tyler Black because Black has a 3 Add 1 on Level 2 Offense and I knew I would (while on Offense) likely be on Level 2 Offense alot since Vader has 4 hurt-2s on his Level 3 Defense. That strategy worked somewhat as I was able to build up some fatigue on Vader thanks to that Add 1 move on Level 2 Offense but as expected Vader still won the match.
It was good to hear Grant on the podcast. Although I watched live Grant's tournament on You Tube last month involving the COTG Christmas cards, I really need to watch more of Grant's Friday podcast. Yesterday/this past Friday was difficult due to GCW's live 24 hour wrestling marathon, but I will definitely try to watch Grant's podcast next Friday for sure. What time does it start?
As for Godfather, the local FSW promoter here in Las Vegas who helped me get Disco Inferno signed has told me he will help me talk to Godfather the next time he uses him. If that does not happen sometime in the near future, I could also go to Cheetah's and hope to see him there too (too bad he does not wear his Godfather attire at Cheetah's as he would probably be easier to spot.)
I enjoyed the talk about the LOW stats. I always have trouble remembering what is supposed to be capitalized on the Indy stats I write. I am hoping the big LOW name that was referred to is Farmer Burns who trained Frank Gotch but I am sure if it is not him then it will still be a great addition to the game.
I am also looking forward to the upcoming podcasts you guys have with Mark Ashby.

He's still a mountain of a man, how hard could he be to spot no matter what he's wearing? LOL but I really would not suggest approaching him at his "day job". Love your dedication to FG and this game. Much love. 🤟

Always love the in depth, or in this case 'real time' design conversations. It was really interesting to hear how much give, take and debate is made to even out cards across tag teams as well as the set they're in. Especially in the discussion about Dynamite and his junior heavyweight stats and how is pin and down's are a double negative and do you really need 3 negatives are 2 enough. Really interesting to see how fluid it is and not a hard and fast rule set.
In the case of Barbarian and Warlord there was a lot of consideration to tag efficiency to the team as they were graded against each other which is interesting as you guys clearly saw one of them as the tag expert. Since you guys were fine turning cards across the set do you guys then look at the existing catalog when starting with original wrestlers as an 'archetype' and then start pushing and pulling from there. Case in point for Dynamite, was some one like Hodge taken as the bar and then worked from there when pen first met paper?
