Since you guys were fine turning cards across the set do you guys then look at the existing catalog when starting with original wrestlers as an 'archetype' and then start pushing and pulling from there. Case in point for Dynamite, was some one like Hodge taken as the bar and then worked from there when pen first met paper? Great question! With a lot of new cards, we do look at guys who were his contemporaries, natural rivals, or guys that promoters might want to make as dream matches. For example, a card like Jack Brisco, we might compare him to Harley Race (a natural rival) or Lou Thesz (another former NWA champ, whom Jack never wrestled) and try to figure out how Jack should line up against them. Chad can speak more about Dynamite, as he did the work on the Bulldogs. Hopefully, I understood your question correctly.
