Hi all Does somebody know after what system the Fed Rankings are calculated? Are there just points given for wins or losses? Or is the strength of the Opponent somehow included?

I’ve recently been adding a ton of results online and I can say that In addition to wins and losses the match rating factors into the ranking calculation.
Someone who has won in a five star match will be ranked higher than a person who has won in a four-star match even if they both Have the same win loss records.
I haven’t seen any evidence that the caliber of opponent factors in at all, but it might.

Thanks Grant 🙂 Always enjoy watching your live plays on YouTube. Same for the Podcast. I was hoping that Andre would not show up as Opponent of Randy Savage.

So my boss was off work on Thursday and wanted me to play around with PYTHON. I may or may not have uploaded stuff from my fed and was working on something similiar Grant.
I really want to add more to the lore of my fedverse and was contemplating adding the "MONDAY NIGHT WARS" which would feature the two top shows battling it out on Monday and I wanted to see about writing a program that you would just need to write down win and loss and star rating and it would auto calculate the persons points and star rating and ultimately to their salary and which territory would be able to afford this person.
Still debating multiple ideas in my head but this was something I was seeing if I liked it and if it mattered long term kind of thing.

Did some testing with Lou Thesz (arguably one of the best cards) and Nacho Barrera (you know).
Gave them each a win and a loss in a five star match here were the rankings.
Singles Rankings as of 03.14.2021
#1 - Lou Thesz (1-1, 103 points)
#2 - Nacho Barrera (1-1, 103 points)
I did some testing and I think Thesz is listed first because they are listed alphabetically by first name.
I then remembered that when Online launched there was some talk that the ranking systems took into consideration the words 'pinfall/submission/DQ/countout.' So I gave them each a win and loss with those words. These were all 5 star matches.
There does seem to be something happening because a pinfall/submission/countout win will give either guy 106 points, but a loss via pinfall or submission or countout gives Thesz 102 points but gives Nacho 98 points.
DQ wins seem to give either guy only 105 points.
Maybe the difference in loss points is because in the system Nacho is listed as having a position of an Opener. There's no Position listed for Thesz, but I'd assume Main Eventer.
It's be nice to get exactly what 'By The Numbers' means. -- Nacho win by submission

Just to throw another monkeywrench into the works -- What about those advanced options for victory bonus and match prestige when adding a match through the show editor? I'm fairly certain those impacted rating points as well... Though in all fairness, I stopped using the online show editor and stats tracker a long time ago.

Victory Bonus Low - Adds 1 point to rankings Moderate - Adds 3 points to rankings High - Adds 5 points to rankings
Match Prestige Low - Doesn't add any points to rankings High - Doesn't add any points to rankings Epic - Doesn't add any points to rankings
I was thinking maybe Prestige added to overall card rating but in my tests I haven't seen where it changes it at all. I know you can add Prestige to a custom title so maybe it tweaks something there? It's quite possible that even though you can select Match Prestige, its results have been deactivated for some reason.
I searched through the COTGOnline forums and found that in July 2008, Online dropped the different ranking committees you could select to add in Create-A-Character. But there's nothing after that about what 'By The Numbers' means. There are a few threads of people asking about it but no answers. Also there's no results for what Match Prestige affects.
Maybe I'll reach out to Osk and see if he has any leftover documentation about it.

Not sure if this is totally his now or just based on his idea? There was a thread on the old fan forums about this, how to score matches (five stars, etc. & ranking wrestler's), but that's hard to find. Interesting topic.
