I just listened to a fantastic segment on Episode 185 of Jim Cornette's Drive Thru regarding SMW's business and why they closed. He gives a lot of history of why they couldn't succeed financially in comparison to ECW. Great details about the end of the promotion, but also about the start of SMW. Go to 48:22 on episode 185, it's a little over an hour, or listen to the whole show! Highly recommended! Most on here know I'm not a fan of todays wrestling, so its fun to hear Corny ragging on it, but in all honesty, I'd rather hear him talking old wrestling for 3 hours. I love his breakdowns for eras. I'd rather hear Cornette's historical discussions too. I love all of those deep dive episodes on Mid-South, WCCW, and JCP. |

yeah...I love those. Also when they used to do those In The News where they'd read old wrestling articles from newspapers.

I really like the old TV references lately, being the "Bewitched" one and especially the Jabberjaw! Now THERE'S an obscure 1970's cartoon reference, whew! And you gotta love the chin on Chyna!
