LWF Saturday Night Showdown
Card #1
Pittsburgh Pa
4/3/21
Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura open the show by welcoming everyone to Saturday Night Showdown!
The LWF Commissioner Teddy Long comes down to the ring where we see a table presenting all of the LWF titles. He hypes up tonight’s card and announces that the Television title will be defended weekly on Saturday Night Showdown. He also announces that at the first LWF PPV “Night of Champions” there will be an 8 man tournament to determine the first LWF World Champion. To fill those 8 spots the next few weeks there will be qualifying matches on Saturday Night Showdown. This leads us to our first match.
After the match Bobo can see that Masked Superstar is in bad shape. He helps Masked Superstar to his feet. He reaches out his hand to show respect for his opponent. The two share a handshake and Masked Superstar holds up Bobo’s hand in victory. Could this be the beginning of an unexpected alliance?
We head backstage where Mean Gene Okerlund is with Bobby Heenan, Andre The Giant, Curt Henning and Ted DiBiase. Heenan cuts a promo how he is upset that Curt Henning isn't in tonight's TV title match and finds it ridiculous that he has to compete tonight for a chance next week for the title. He says that he is going down to Teddys office right now with Andre to give him a piece of his mind!
Hennan, Henning and Andre leave the interview. Mean Gene turns to Ted DiBiase as he is walking away and asks him if he has any words for the Macho Man before tonight's Main Event. DiBiase laughs loudly and tells Macho he should have taken the cash that DiBiase offered him to lay down and take the loss but now it looks like he is going to have to get his hands dirty to move on to Night of Champions.
We send it back to Gorilla Monsoon who is standing in the ring with a mic. He introduces The Road Warriors and they make there way down to the ring. Monsoon is conducting an interview with The Road Warriors about there shot at the LWF World Tag-Team titles. The interview is interrupted when there opponents Team Russia (Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff) sneak into the ring and hit Hawk and Animal with steel chairs! Monsoon runs back to the announce table and a referee runs into the ring to begin the match.
After the match Ivan Koloff is kicking Hawk while he is down on the mat. While this is playing out Nikolai Volkoff finds a chair. Animal jumps into the ring to save Hawk but is met by Volkoffs steal chair! The Road Warriors are laid out as Team Russia celebrates there win.
While the medics tend to The Road Warriors in the ring we head backstage to Teddy Longs office. The door is closed until Hennan and Andre bust open the door! Hennan lets Teddy know that he is not happy with how the family is being treated thus far in the LWF. He says that while he has faith in Henning and DiBiase to win and bring gold to the family, he wants a big insurance policy and he wants Andre in the tournament at Night of Champions. Teddy tells Hennan that he just gave him a great idea. Next week Andre will take on a mystery opponent of Teddys choice and if he wins he is in the tournament. Hennan seems pleased with this and walks out with a grin. Strange thing is Teddy also has a grin on his face. What does Teddy have up his sleeve?
We head back to the ring for the LWF Television Championship Match. Tully Blanchard comes down to the ring with J.J. Dillon and the rest of The Four Horseman (Buddy Rogers, Barry Windham and Blackjack Mulligan) clearly putting Jimmy Valiant at a disadvantage.
After the match the ref hands Tully the belt and he holds it in the air in victory. The other members of The Four Horseman enter the ring to congratulate Blanchard on the win. Buddy Rogers grabs a mic. He congratulates Tully on becoming the first LWF Television Champion. He hypes up The Four Horseman as the hardest working group in professional wrestling and next week after Barry Windham and Blackjack Mulligan become World Tag-Team champions he will go on to Night of Champions and become the LWF World Champ and The Four Horseman will all hold LWF gold. After the promo Buddy Rogers heads over to the ringside announce table where he will be the guest commentator for the next match.
After the match The Four Horseman continue to beat down Brody and Snuka. Both men are rolled into the ring bleeding. Just then The Road Warriors run down to the ring and chase the horseman out of the ring. Hawk and Animal are wrapped up in medical tape showing some signs of injuries from there beat down earlier. Hawk grabs a mic. He calls the horseman cowards for running away as soon as the odds even up. He challenges them to a match next week to determine the #1 Contender for the World Tag-Team titles. Animal grabs the mic and says that the horseman are not the only ones with friends and that if they all show up they know just who to call to even up the odds!
Backstage we see Macho Man Randy Savage heading toward the curtain area. He is stopped by Jimmy Hart who tells Savage that he has some big plans in the LWF and would love to manage the Macho Man. Savage blows him off and says the only thing he is focused on right now is the LWF World Championship and walks away.
Before the show goes off air we head back to Teddy Longs office where he is speaking with Jimmy Hart. He ask Hart if he is sure that his client will be here next week to take on Andre. He assures Long that he will be here and there is no way he is going to let the LWF World Title fall into Bobby Hennans hands.

Valiant started this match on offense. It seemed like he may get a fair fight but that wasn’t the case! It only took Blanchard one SLINGSHOT SUPLEX to get him the win and the LWF TV title.

Match 5
LWF Television title #1 Contender match
Curt Hennig w/ Bobby Heenan vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan
This was an amazing back and forth contest! Whenever it appeared someone was going to run away with it the other would counter in a big way. The match saw some outside action which led to Hacksaw getting a slight up on Hennig. Duggan hit Hennig with the FYING SPEAR and went for the win but was only able to get the two count. Hacksaw began to argue with the ref about the count. While he was doing this Heenan slipped some sort of foreign object that Hennig hit Duggan with knocking him out! Hennig covered him for the win.
