Those early tag days were just brutal. I think my division during that first set was:
Road Warriors The Valiants Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff Red Bastien and The Detroyer The Valentines Ted Dibiase and Virgil
I didn't know as much about The Destroyer in those days or I would have probably done Giant Baba and The Destroyer. Needless to say the Road Warriors dominated that group until the Midnights showed up.

Awesome talk again and the stories you guys share meeting and talking with the legends at the HoF makes it sound like such a great time.
BTW Good ole JR name dropped the HoF ceremony happening in July on his podcast this week as well really selling it as the thing to do if you really love the industry and want to see something special.

Another great episode friends. Loved the breakdown of each wrestler. And thanks for answering my dumb question.

Great episode, gents. Love hearing stuff about move selection and the story about Hutton's Cowboy Backbreaker. As always, the HoF stories about guys are a great window into the personalities behind the characters we know and love.
Re: Hutton. It is too bad that the thing he seems to be most remembered for was the fact he didn't draw or have the charisma of other champs. But with the lack of footage and exposure compared to other NWA champs, it's the tale historians have chosen to tell, though, as you said there's often a lot of focus on the fact that he was Thesz' chosen. Personally, I'm a big fan of his card(s) and think he adds a lot to the game and can fill multiple spots depending on how you play him (heel, face, tweener, main eventer, enforcer, etc.).
And, of course, always love hearing how you all have used guys in the past... Comrade Red... Perfection, haha.

Enjoyed listening last night, although you guys were too kind to Virgil. Those of us who were there know the truth. We try to keep it positive! Actual conversation I had with Virgil: Virgil: Why ya’ll here? Me: For the game. Virgil: What’s the game? (I show him the new GWF set ) Virgil: Those guys aren’t even real! Me: It’s awesome. It takes place 100 years in the future. Virgil: That’s dumb.

Got caught up...well mostly (about 30 minutes left on this episode that will have to wait until Thursday when I work from the house next to listen (network policy won't let me do so in the office) to the end.
Thanks for answering the Road Warriors question...I kinda figured that was the answer, but I never remembered hearing or reading anything about how the signing happened.
