SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 5/15/2021 Card #3 –Rapides Parish Coliseum – Alexandria, LAWelcome to South Coast Championship Wrestling! Join us now for the fast-paced competition of professional wrestling featuring the top grapplers from the nation’s largest governing body, the World Wide Wrestling Alliance. We’re on the south bank of the Red River on Highway 28 for another great card show! It’s a hot and humid evening outside and we expect the matches inside the Coliseum to be hot as well. Without further delay, let’s get to the action… The Intelligent Sensational Destroyer b Jerry BriscoBefore the match began, Jerry had made it known he wanted to take on the Destroyer’s Figure Four Challenge. Jerry would be placed in the figure four by the Destroyer and, if he could break it, would win $10,000. Unfortunately, the Challenge never got underway. There were a couple false starts where Destroyer would come close to locking in the hold, but would then back off claiming shenanigans by Jerry. Then Ray Stevens showed up at ringside, which brought Jack Brisco out of the locker room. After a mini-brawl, Jack and Stevens wound up fighting on the floor. The referee, seeing an opening, signaled for the bell to start the match. And what an outstanding match it turned into! Great technical moves and agility, brawling, and high intensity. Both men managed to escape the other’s Figure Four via rope break, and Jerry got busted open pretty badly along the way. Despite showing great heart, the Destroyer got the win with a backbreaker. Bob Armstrong dq Magnificent MuracoA hard hitting but rather short contest ended when Muraco and Albano were continually frustrated by Armstrong. Interference by Albano was seen by the referee and ended the match. Muraco tried a little sneak attack after the bell, but it backfired and Armstrong fought him off. Muraco bailed out, hugged Albano and called it a night. Red Bastien and Bob Armstrong got the only wins for the fan favorites, but Jerry Brisco may have gotten the biggest reaction from the crowd in his hard fought loss to the Destroyer. Next time, we’ll be in beautiful Dothan, Alabama! Here’s what our great fans at the Houston County Farm Center can look forward to: * Scott Casey and Larry Hennig have had some heated exchanges recently, which resulted in some inconclusive finishes. Those two will meet in singles competition in Dothan! * The women will be in action with a singles match featuring Susan Green against Toni Rose! * Expect the fireworks to fly in a huge six-man tag bout! Steve “Doctor Death” Williams will team with Bob & Brad Armstrong to tackle the current SCCW Tag-Team Champions, Jimmy & Johnny Valiant, who will be joined in the ring by their obnoxious manager Captain Lou Albano! * Finally! Your big main event will see SCCW kingpin Harley Race defending the championship against Ted DiBiase! The popular DiBiase has been trying to secure a title shot for the past few months and will get his first chance on the next show! All this and much more next time in Dothan! Really digging the whole "Jerry Brisco gets over in a losing effort by showing great heart"...always a sucker for that, and may just make the guy in SCCW through this effort! Also digging Bob feuding with Muraco, that's stellar stuff!

SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 5/22/2021 Card #4 –Houston County Farm Center – Dothan, LA
Welcome to South Coast Championship Wrestling! Join us now for the fast-paced competition of professional wrestling featuring the top grapplers from the nation’s largest governing body, the World Wide Wrestling Alliance. It’s our first big show in Dothan since the formation of the WWWA! And what a great lineup we have for you tonight, including Ted DiBiase’s first challenge for the South Coast Title! Let’s get to the action…
Billy “Red” Lyons b Quebecer Pierre Lyons has not been happy with his fellow Canadians’ attitudes, and hoped to give Pierre a lesson in etiquette. This turned into a great opener, with both men showing off some technical skills as well as their toughness. It was Lyons who had the last laugh here, locking in the Sleeper for the win.
Tom Prichard & D’Lo Brown dq Dirty Daltons The Dirty Daltons have been a staple in South Coast for several years, and really dislike young athletic teams who become popular with the fans quickly. That was the case with Tom & D’Lo who have gained a lot of popularity in their short time in the area. Another tightly contested bout that ended when Johnny Dalton was disqualified during a slugfest with Prichard.
Brian Blair dq J.J. Dillon You knew it was going to be a tough night for Blair when SCCW Champion Harley Race accompanied Dillon to ringside. It was actually Race’s interference that caused a disqualification, which brought Ted DiBiase out of the locker room when it looked like this might turn into a 2 on 1 situation.
Special Attraction: Susan Green b Toni Rose A special attraction tonight was this exciting ladies match. Green fought off an aggressive attack from Rose to win with a flying bodypress.
Scott Casey dq Larry Hennig You just can’t seem to get a decisive ending to a match when these two are involved. It looked like Casey might have a fair chance, as Dillon was not at ringside (likely recovering from his earlier match). However, tempers again flared and Hennig was disqualified for hitting Casey with a chair when the two were fighting on the floor.
Jack Brisco b Ray Stevens Having recently returned to the area, Brisco wasted no time in going after a double tough grappler in Stevens. There has been a lot of trash talk going back and forth between the Briscos and the Destroyer regarding who has the better version of the Figure Four Leglock. Jack didn’t get to really show off his version tonight, as Stevens quickly grabbed the ropes the two times Jack tried to clamp it on. But we all know Brisco is no one trick pony, and he used a beautiful gut wrench backbreaker to pick up the pinfall.
Jimmy & Johnny Valiant & Lou Albano b Bob & Brad Armstrong & Steve Williams Well, you knew this was going to be a chaotic train wreck once it was signed. Although all the fan favorites wanted a crack at Albano, he never tagged in. However he was an incredibly annoying presence from the apron nonetheless. Lots of punches being thrown and bodies flying around the ring. It was a miscue by Bob Armstrong that led him to being trapped in the Valiants’ corner and relentlessly double teamed. That led to Luscious Johnny using a Spinning Neckbreaker to pick up the win.
SCCW Championship: HARLEY RACE b Ted DiBiase This did not end the way the fans had hoped, and there was a little highway robbery during the finish of the contest. DiBiase got off to a fast start and had the champion reeling. J.J. Dillon, the so called “Leader of Men”, showed up at ringside a few minutes into the bout. His arrival seemed to shake DiBiase allowing Race to gain control. It looked bad for Ted when Race hit a Piledriver, but DiBiase barely got a foot on the bottom rope to break the count. That got the crowd going. A second Piledriver a couple minutes later that saw the same scenario, with DiBiase getting a foot on the rope. Dillon alertly knocked the foot off the ropes before the referee could see it, giving Race the tainted victory. Fans pelted the ring with trash, but the decision stood.
What a horrible ending to DiBiase first ever match for the South Coast Title! He’ll certainly has grounds for a rematch, but that will be up to the championship committee and there may be some input by the WWWA Board if needed. Regardless, our next show will be at the Municipal Amphitheater in Gadsden, Alabama. Here’s what our great fans there can look forward to:
* The bad blood between “Cowboy” Scott Casey and Larry “The Axe” Hennig will be on display in Gadsden! The two will square off in a singles match and it could be a show stealer!
* Two former SCCW Champions meet in singles competition – Brian Blair will face off with the Magnificent Muraco at the Amphitheater! Muraco will certainly be accompanied by Captain Lou Albano, so Blair will need to keep one eye on the self-proclaimed “Guiding Light” in this one!
* Your big main event will see Bob & Brad Armstrong challenge Handsome Jimmy & Luscious Johnny for the SCCW Tag-Team Championship! The Armstrong held the titles for roughly two months earlier in the year and are hoping to become the third team to hold the titles more than once. It should be a heated and action packed showdown!
All this and much more next time in Gadsden!

All-Star Wrestling Highlights -Broadcast weekend of 5.15.2021
Jeff Walton introduced the 5.15.2021 edition of All-Star Wrestling. Highlights from the broadcast included:
*Marty Jannetty & Ric McCord (the Uptown Boys), the Midnight Express, Magnum TA, and the debuting masked All-American, the Patriot, all won matches against enhancement talent. TA continued his impressive streak of winning TV matches in short order with his explosive BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX.
*David Marquez announced that one of the biggest stars in both the United States and Japan, Stan “the Lariat” Hansen, has signed a “near exclusive” contract with Western States Wrestling. While Hansen will maintain his Japanese commitments, WSW will become the only promotion he competes for in the United States. Marquez continued that as a condition of this agreement, Hansen has been appointed the second WSW representative in the WWWA World Heavyweight Championship tournament, to be hold on Thursday, May 20, in Rio de Janero, Brazil! A video highlight package then aired, showing Hansen beating the heck out of a variety of opponents, hitting one LARIAT after another! (Sorry we said “heck” instead of “hell”, but this is a family show!) A pre-recorded of video played, where he hollered and smashed his rope and cowbell into the floor. Somewhere in the chaos, he declared he’d win the champion, because he needs the money to take care of his “big fat wife and nine kids!”
*Jeff Walton read another statement from the WWWA Board of Directors regarding the possible sanctions against Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express for their actions against the Rock n’ Roll Express. Walton said the Board apologized for the delayed decisions, but the upcoming WWWA World title tournament is their primary focus right now. A frustrated Cornette came out to the interview area, saying this was “prejudice of the highest order!” He promised to use all of his mother’s money to hire an army of lawyers to “shut this unjust witch hunt down!”
*Marty Jannetty & Ric McCord, the Uptown Boys, were interviewed by Jeff Walton regarding their upcoming series of matches with the Americas Tag Team Champions, the Midnight Express. Jannetty & McCord claimed to love the “West Coast lifestyle and all of the California beauties!” Walton questioned how they’d combat the presence of both Jim Cornette and Mr. Hughes, McCord said it would be difficult, but they’ll have the fans in their corner.

Great to see the WWWA heating up on multiple fronts...
Race is one tough champion and with Dillon backing him up, it's no wonder DiBiase fell short in his bid for the SCCW title... I'm also enjoying the gradual build towards the inevitable confrontation between Jack Brisco and The Destroyer... Definitely some money to be made with that program.
And while we're on the subject of making money, it looks like All-Star Wrestling offered some serious bank to obtain the services of Stan Hansen... Will the acquisition be worth the expense? Can't wait to find out!

Think that Hansen/Williams match was my favorite. Congrats to Lewis on being the first to claim the big gold.

The tournament was an absolute blast to hear on the podcast... It would be really cool if Hansen and Williams get to lock horns again in the future... Lewis makes an awesome inaugural champion!
