Ivelisse I look at going into this is one of the favorites but with Nichole Mathews & Jazz possible opponents in the same side of the draw it wont be easy |

I have to look at Nicole Matthews and Allysin Kay as being favorites from their respective brackets, though Jazz could likely take it all. But Ivelisse shouldn't be underestimated. Looking forward to the results. And what a lovely way to dedicate the tournament.

NOTES: "Back and fourth match to open up the Tournament, Ivelisse escaped a pin after a Tombstone Piledriver early on in the match but a big running kick to the face of Faye in the corner set up the finish."
Nichole Mathews OVER Nikki Roxx
VICTORY BY: Neck Breaker/ DDT Combination
TIME OF MATCH: 13 Minutes 1 second
NOTES: "Hard fought excellent match, Nikki had the early advantage thanks to her Barbie crusher , Polish hammer and back-breaker rack. All for not however as Nichole would survive the onslaught and after a second brain buster of the match would set up the finish"
Jazz OVER Willow Nightingale
VICTORY BY: Double Under hook Suplex
TIME OF MATCH: 1 minute 36 seconds
NOTES: "One mistake at the very beginning of the match, Willow charged and missed Jazz in the corner which led to Southern Comfort, which Nightingale kicked out of the pin attempt BUT not the double under hook suplex in which Jazz screamed STAY DOWN B*tch!"

VICTORY BY: Tombstone Piledriver
TIME OF MATCH: 18 minutes 15 seconds
NOTES: "An instant classic between these two that saw several near falls for both. in the end Vox went to the high rent district and it did not pay off which led to the finish. 89 combined moves in this contest."

TIME OF MATCH: 13 minutes 6 seconds
NOTES: "Very competitive between the two that saw them brawl outside and that is where Luck ran out for Laynie as she got smashed head first into the steel post! Then thrown back inside the ring for the finish"
Allyson Kay OVER Delmi Exo
VICTORY BY: Silencer
TIME OF THE MATCH: 12 minutes 36 seconds
NOTES: "Much like her tag team partner Ashley Vox a hell of a showing by Delmi keeping Kay off balance with a couple of big time moves off the top rope but once the AK got a hold of her opponent it was just a matter of time before she put her down"
Samantha Heights OVER Brittney Blake
VICTORY BY: Diamond Dust Finisher
TIME OF MATCH: 16 minutes 3 seconds
NOTES: "One of the most even match ups of the entire tournament and it was on as soon as the bell rang as Blake went right up to Heights and told her I'm Brittany Bitch and slapped the taste out of her mouth! Several near falls for both later, Samantha got the last laugh after putting Blake down with her finisher for the second time."
Leyla Hirsch OVER Ariel
VICTORY BY: Disqualification
TIME OF MATCH: 6 minutes 1 second
NOTES: "Some contiversay to end the opening round as Ariel thought she had the match won early on via a Northern lights suplex BUT Hirsch barely kicked out. The two would brawl outside the ring, Ariel you could tell was frustrated and despite the officials warning she decided to smash her opponent in the face with a steel chair! The official called for the bell and medical came running down to check on Hirsch who was busted open." -END (1) |

Obviously there's still a long road ahead, but I'm stoked that Ivelisse kicked things off by putting a notch in the W column... Nice!

Good stuff! Happy to see Matthews and Kay still alive. Looks like a great matchup between real-life tag partners, Heights and Blake - having seen them live a few times, they'd mesh just as well as opponents as they would partners. Too bad Willow couldn't give Jazz more competition, but Jazz is a legend for a reason.
Really enjoyed reading this. I like your write-ups and I'll definitely keep following along.

NOTES: "Ivelisse went right at Matthews seconds after the bell to start the match and got her down for some quick pin attempts that really to the wind out of the sails of the Canadian and after the 3rd Desert Eagle Finisher in the match one of the favorites going into this Tournament is out!" TIME OF MATCH: 19 minutes 45 seconds
NOTES: "What a match between these two tough as hell athletes, Maria got busted open and still fought to the end with several chances and Jazz the legend still proving she could go the distance and take just as much as she dishes out. NOTES: "With 8 stitches in her forehead Hirsch made it out for the match and Heights had a chance to put her away early but went for a high risk top rope elbow that did not pay off which led to Hirsch eventually hitting her spring board moonsault to advance! It should be noted that medical staff came out after the match to check on the condition of the victorious Hirsch. -END (2) |
